I came out to my dad as lesbian a 2 nights ago he, asked me if I'm still a girl so I had to explain to him that I'm still his daughter and explain the difference between being trans and being a lesbian😅

Binding is a love hate relationship. I love having a flat chest but then I hate binding so much that I don't do it very much. It's just choosing which kind of discomfort I want that day and it sucks.

I’ve tried gc2b, underworks and spectrum and for me spectrum is the best. If you want more comfort, easy binding or if you have breathing issues then gc2b is probably best. Underworks are kinda uncomfortable, they rub a lot and the fabric itself is super scratchy but they do bind the best, I’d recommend not wearing them for as long though Spectrum had been the best for me, I find it’s kinda like a midpoint between gc2b and Underworks, they bind well but are still pretty comfy! And remember kids, don’t sleep in it, don’t exercise in it, and always stretch!! 👍🏳️‍🌈

Something that really really saved me and still helps me pass to this day is puffy coats. Like I know it might seem like a road man thing to wear but puffy coats hide the binder bump and any amount of chest you’re not able to bind and it has saved me so much. I have asthma so it’s saved me when I can’t bind with an actual binder and it’s better to get the ones with the big puffs (if that makes sense) bc then you’ll pass more. Just a tip that I found really helps me :)

A couple things I want to say. 1. A full tank binder is better for someone who has a larger chest as it prevents you falling out of it. 2. If you're asthmatic please make sure youre as careful as possible as having an asthma attack in a binder is incredibly painful 3. I'm not sure if they are real but Amazon has been known to sell "Underworks" binders

So I''m 13 afab, and I came out to my mom in the end of 2020 as non binary, and she just said something like "oh thats not possible, your one person" blah blah blah. And around 2 or 3 months ago she told me she bought me a binder since ive asked her to. And it hasn't arrived since then, I think she just said that to make me excited and then make me sad, so that sucks, I also told her recently I wanted top surgery when I'm older, or whenever I can. And she laughed and said I will be put through stuff to see if im actually trans or anything like that. That really hurt my feelings tbh, no one in my family accepts me :/

My binder preference is both! I work out in my gc2b and lounge around the house in it, but on bad days or when I’m wearing anything tighter I go for underworks. That tends to be the best solution for me. I was very lucky when I got my binders 8 years ago. My first was actually from a tumblr give away! The rest second hand from a friend who had top surgery. I hope to do the same with mine since I’ll be getting top in about 3 weeks!

yes be careful with binders. dont use a smaller size than you should and plz dont go to sleep with it. when i started binding I had one that was way to tight than it should be and used it for a week straight, only taking it off for showers, ye my back and my ribs didn't like that. it hurt a lot to move.

I've had my binder for a year now and it has loosened quite a bit since from when I first got it. When I first had it, I had this sort of routine to put it on... Now I just out it on as if I'm putting a top on... Like it's second nature 😂 Edit: I would also take it off like a normal top. But, when I first had it, it was not that easy 😂 Edit 2: my binder is a medium gc2b binder :3

Tips for wearing a binder: Take it off at night, because you're not supposed to wear it for more than 8 hours, so that would be bad. Also, if you want to wear it to school and you have PE that day, before PE starts go to the bathroom and either just take off your binder or replace it with a sports bra. If you don't it can cause shortness of breath and health problems. You shouldn't wear a binder for more than 8 hours at a time, of course, and if you wear it at school, take it off when you get home. If you wanna go somewhere after school, then take it off until you have to go, then put it back on. If you wanna go right after school, make sure the thing doesn't last more than like 1-2 hours, and of course, take it off as soon as you get home. I got this from wearing a binder for about 2 years. Of course, if you're comfortable with it, you can get top surgery when you turn 18 or as soon as you can afford it after you turn 18, because you don't have to worry about rib or lung complications.

if you want to buy a binder, save up money to buy a loadable card. theyre found at gas stations and grocery stores, places like that. you can buy the card and put however much you need on it and its useable online. most binder companies have discrete packaging so hiding the package isnt too difficult

remember! if needed take it off for a few minutes to stretch and catch your breath. Make sure your binder fits and isn’t to tight

You can also buy a prepaid credit card from grocery stores or gas stations in the U. S.. They are around $4-5 and then u put the amount u need on the card at the same store. U can use them at any online retailer that isn't international. This includes Amazon, eBay etc. Hope that helps

You can order a binder online with a prepaid visa gift card if you don’t have a credit card to order from. Also I know that gc2bs packaging is discreet so your parents wouldn’t be able to tell what it is from the outside. In my experience, hiding a binder isn’t a priority for me because if my parents were to find it they wouldn’t know what it was. I feel like most parents won’t jump to the conclusion that it’s for making your chest flat because you’re dysphoric but if you’re worried about them finding out, order the full length one because it looks like a regular undershirt for the most part

For the questions on how often people bind and whether to do it during working out, I personally follow the guidelines of five days a week max and eight hours at a time max so I’ll wear it for my seven hour work shift and just wear really large clothes the rest of the time If I’m working out, I wear a tight fitting sports bra and a shirt that’s a little loose, but it’s not safe to wear a binder when working out especially if you’re doing something like running. Life hack, if you build up enough muscle then people will just think they’re pecs

for sports i use a gc2b binder which i stretched out real badly. it doesn’t flatten as much, but at least it does something and i feel better because i know i’m binding. basically use a stretched one or buy a size up, which i don’t really know because i feel that they’d be too big, but you can try i guess.

You know, that's one of the things I'm scared of- binding for 4 years!? I came out in February 2019, even though I knew I was trans since 2017, and so when I came out, I started binding finally (in February), but it hurts and since I'm 16, and I'm not on estrogen blockers yet, my... you knows.. kept growing and now I'm a double d, which SUCKS. I've tried everything to keep it from hurting so badly but even tips from trans guys who've gone through the progress haven't been able to help much. I'm not 18 yet, so I can't just go get top surgery, and my parents aren't rushing things because they think I need time to "fix myself" (they think I'm one, faking it, and two, they just don't even believe trans is a thing, and that I should stay how I am). I really hope I don't have to wait as long as you have- and you're a frickin amazing person for the patience and pain you must have endured, that seems impossible for me though, with all the depression, anxiety and dysphoria, four years just seems so long..

In regards to the KT tape question, I use Transtape (I have scoliosis so I can't wear a binder for >3 hours). Transtape comes in thick, uncut rolls so you can choose the amount you need. I also haven't had problems with it tearing skin off (just makes it a little dry) but be SUPER careful when taking it off. Patience is key!

I can NEVER get mine over my head! The directions on the underworks binder I have say to flip it inside out and step into it upside down. So I do that, get it up to my hips, then flip it up if that makes sense

TIPS FOR BINDING WHIKE EXCERCING: You can get a compression shirt over whatever you normally wear and under your sports gear. I use it and it works wonders because I am very, very active. Also men’s compression shirts are also fine, and they’re really comfortable as well. I recommend Skins (idk if they sell in the UK or US) but you can just say they’re more comfortable for training and whatnot if you’re not out yet! :)

i will soon be one of those who no longer have to wear a binder. a few days ago i had a referral sent out to start the process of top sergery. i cant wait coz wearing a binder in summer time is a KILLER! it also changed my breathing since starting to wear 1 and over time it has damaged my ribs. i dont know what exactly has been done to them but they are constantly sore even when i have my binder off at night and it hurts so bad if my cat walks on me if i dont have a blanket over me. got my fingers crossed for it being all healed and back to normal once the binder comes off forever

I have an under works binder and I don't like it much, it binds very well but I'd recommend not getting ones that bind over your stomach They roll up when you bend over or sit down and it hurts (and make your hips look big) so please get one that just goes over the chest

13:07 many places sell pre paid Visa cards, buy a $50 it’ll cost you an extra $7 activation price, but that’s what I did and it worked really well. Also gc2b has discreet shipping if you’re wondering (Also buy it around Christmas or someone’s birthday and tell your family that if they get something in the mail for you to not open it because it’s a gift for them)

a really good tip i got for buying a binder is to go to a store and buy a visa gift card with cash and then use that online to buy the binder

I wear my binder in PE, because I’m so dysphoric. It sucks so much, because I love sport and I can’t really give a 100% so my grades are also suffering from that. But for everyone, I really don’t recommend it. I have a lot of trouble with breathing, bad posture and also footprints on the front and back, that turned purple by now (so not really healthy, it feels a bit like my insides got hurt). Sport Binder exist, so I would recommend wearing them because they bind a bit more than sport bras do and I also wear hoodies in PE class. It’s just a lot of sweating then. Take care

i really wanna start wearing binders but i already have really bad back pain and i used to wear bandages but even wearing those for a week makes me feel like my back is gonna collapse. i think for me i just like the way a flat chest looks because some days i feel really uncomfortable and some days i don’t even notice they’re there.
