Boring response but an easy tip I can give: take a side profile picture of your dome as well as full frontal and use the pictures as a reference. And another tip: unless you got that heroine rockstar look, always chub out your chin and cheeks 30% more than you think you need to. Games always do that uncanny valley anime character shit so you have to compensate to make it look like a human

After 5 minutes of the game I uninstalled it. Re-installed it. Tried it for 10 minutes. Uninstalled it. I just reinstalled it. This is not what we call a captivating game introduction.

Which is funny, because in every single Bethesda game, you can mod in a visible body for 1st person with minimal issues. Todd Howard isn't even trying to make good games anymore.

Yeah it's garbage. I can understand limitations in terms of seamlessly taking off from and landing on planets etc. but they could have made space travel far more immersive and interesting than what it is. Have seamless jump animations between areas within the same system. Have gates that you have to jump to and use in order to jump to the next system and have a warp animation for that. Like EVE Online. Instead you can literally just be standing in a room on surface and fast travel across the galaxy to a precise location on another planet. It's totally immersion breaking and makes space gameplay virtually redundant.

Alot of the fast travel loading screens are like 2 seconds at most. Also, you can just use your scanner to fast travel. Its not as bad as people make it put to be

They never said you can fly or land your ship over a planet this is what people hyped up it to be. In interviews they told the public they worked with a tile system now everybody acts surprised it’s zones. It’s advertised as a Fallout in space not a No Mans Sky clone.

I played the shit out skyrim and fallout 4 .. it went to shit with Fallout 76; guess tendency is just downhill from there.

Honestly lol. Loading screen simulator. If you start outside your ship, and you go to another planet and get out, you get no less than 5 loading screens and shitty cinematics for that. None of it has any amount of you controlling the ship. At all. It’s just loading screens, interrupted by you clicking which planet you want to fast travel to.

@@simpledanman don;t get me wrong I really wanted to like it but major flaws like this from the go are total immersion breakers. They should have made 1 single solar system but with planets fully explorable and filled with content. Maybe a couple of space stations? I wanted to get lost x1000 like It happened to me in Skyrim where I took off and went on adventure discovering POIs on the way. Nah. Loading screens in repetium and fast traveling everywhere. Don;t get me started on fast traveling. what a shame. Oh well.

@@yvels3685 I know. It’s just SUCH a disappointment. I uninstalled and went right back to star citizen. That game is honestly much better. No loading screens. And actual space combat, exploration, and the ability to go to any planet in the system.

Aww man! I used to hate pickles but now that I have gotten older I love eating them on pretty much everything that involved bread sandwiching meat that and banana peppers.

😂 NMS definitely put Starfield in an awkward spot. The fact that you can't take off and fly anywhere and then land on another planet really kills the vibe of space travel.

Neither game is very well rounded while I find the story and characters and city's more convincing and enjoyable in Starfield the space flight in NMS is unparalleled. I would give both an 8/10 though in there current states IMHO. 🎉❤

@@mistermelancholy7698 I would agree if: 1) I didn't bug out every time I'm afk for a minute, having to load my last save and lose 15-30 minutes gameplay every time. 2) Last night I landed on a moon and suddenly my game froze every time I aimed downed sight. 4) Fighting AI didn't feel like chasing pigeons.. I'm not being negative on purpose, I really wanted this game to be all it promised.

I LOVE the fact people compare these two games even though they aren't the same, despite being set in space. No Man's Sky is a feat in gaming. There's no argument from me there. However, NMS is mainly a space sim and it does a hell of a job at doing that. I agree that there are plenty of RPG elements to that game, but I feel it's best qualities are primarily being a space sim. Starfield may lack the cool aspects of NMS, but it more than makes up for it in depth. You see, NMS at release was a joke. It took several years to make it what it is today... AFTER they already had everyone's money. This game is infinitely better at release comparatively, and has been the smoothest launch for Bethesda in years. I've got over 60 hours and had only one crash and a few soft glitches. That's it. Compared to when I played NMS at release, I could barley do anything without a bug breaking immersion and causing issues. Now before you pick up your pitchforks and torches, I'm not saying Starfield is perfect, far from it actually. There are MANY improvements that should've been thought of before launch, most of which are quality of life improvements. Although, I'm aware that the AI needs more work and I heard of some worse bugs people experienced. I hope those get addressed as well. Either way, there's definitely something for everyone in both NMS and Starfield, however, I believe that they should be looked at separately as they are completely different types of games for different types of people.

@@Yeebles34 I don't disagree. If only you could fly to the planet yourself and land wherever you want, that would make all the difference to me, and yes I know the loading screens have their benefits too, they just completely take away the immersion (for me).

​​@@supportlidby far the most stable game Bethesda has put out. I don't know where you've heard that it crashes all the time, but I have a mid tier system and in close to 35 hours played I've had one bug and one crash to desktop.

It’s a good game, just not great or even as good as other Bethesda titles.

​@kraenk12 It's everything I wanted for a space RPG. The writing is about what you'd expect from Bethesda, but they have made huge improvements. Some characters you only meet for a couple of minutes but are interesting and memorable. There just aren't a lot of games where you can fly a space ship around, stand up, and get to work crafting items that will help you on your journey, all while in low orbit. I was suprised to land on a moon orbiting a gas giant with rings and I could see some of the other moons. It wasn't a sky box, that's where they are, and I could go there. Not only that, but they rotate in real time. That's fucking cool!! Come on man.

It’s the laziest Bethesda has ever been with it’s quests and dialogue, it feels like they ran it through chat GPT. The procedural generation is crap and gets blown out the water by No Man’s Sky which is 10 years older than this game, the handcrafted locations and storytelling is weak, and Copy paste. I wouldn’t recommend it because it tries to be a true Bethesda game and space explorer like Star citizen and No man’s sky but under delivers in both aspects.

There is lakes and oceans (but no underwater environments), there is forests but they are not particularly dense sure, I have found volcanoes and lava, there is cool rock structures (found a strange stone spire the other day houseing a bunch of weird eggs), there is definitely canyons and craters, there is 100% entire planets with snow, there is even caustic, acidic snowfall. I dunno how much you have played (or if you've even played it at all) but it isn't much by the sounds of it. These facts are just plain false. People like you are the reason we can't be critical of games, because there is a line between criticism and just straight up lying for the sake of it.

​@@rpgadventurer32Alot of what he said is false though. Almost all space games have planets as a backdrop (except NMS and Elite Dangerous, but neither of those have RPG elements and are space sims). AI does indeed react to crimes (i.e get arrested for theft, people running for their life if you start shooting etc). Regarding the content of the planets he was just straight up making stuff up. He was correct about the space traversal, no vehicles and atmospheric flight though, although to be fair, you do spend alot of time in space around planets engaging in stuff, there is just no time consuming in between. That gameplay involves aiming at a planet and holding W for 3 to 5 minutes. Not engaging. The stuff you would encounter in those 3 to 5 minutes is present in Starfield, it just pulls you out of hyperjumps to engage with it. Asteroid mining, trading, piracy, quests, hails, fleet combat, it's all still there. I also do agree the colour pallette is abit off, I installed a mod to fix that. But yeah, alot of what he said is blatantly false or he doesn't actually understand how it works.

I can't stop playing! It even dragged me away from BG3 which I didn't think would happen.

I'm probably half that, with long sessions lol. This is the space RPG I always wanted to play. So many choices and things to do. I just spent like 8 hours in Neon city, the longest I've stayed on one planet. Was so refreshing to take off into space again. Decided I would just check out some of the moons nearby and explore in peace. Was a nice break.

@@TheN9nth It's 86% now after 10k+ reviews on Steam. I expect it to go down further as more and more players get to play it. This is probably a game that sits between the 7's and the 8's. It's not a masterpiece because the game has significant flaws but I expect the mods will fix and improve many things. Still it's not a strong GOTY contender as everyone expected it to be. It's not on the level of Skyrim at launch and the gameplay doesn't seem to be nearly as good as in Skyrim or Oblivion.

@@rpgadventurer32I agree, I think BG3 will definitely take GOTY. What I have a problem with is people just calling it trash, as if it's an experience similar to Redfall, when it is still, at the very least, a solid RPG experience. If you specifically enjoy space games then it is even a great experience imo. Did it live up to the hype people had created? Probably not, although for some it probably did, depending on what they were expecting. I personally prefer it to Skyrim and Oblivion (but not Morrowind yet), but that is because I have a soft spot for space games, and I can count the amount of story-based space RPGs on one hand. Mass Effect is one of my favourite series (even though it had 0 exploration), and it gives me that feeling again that I've been looking for.

As if Joe gives a crap about the critics lmao. This game is a complete disaster and he needs to shed light on the absolute state of AAA gaming in 2023. Most critics are paid shills and Joe has frequently disregarded them and even mocked them over the years. I wish there was a game where you could pilot a ship, stand up from the cockpit, walk around, talk to the crew, craft items to help in your journey and then go to some moon just for the hell of it, only to be attacked by space pirates. You could divert power to make an escape, or send it all to lasers and shields and target their ships engines. Once they are disabled you can dock, raid the ship, and kill everyone on board. Wouldn't that be a fun game in space? If only it existed.

But that's not how they marketed the game.

Except you can populate orbits, raise space interplanetary movement speed, introduce events, do cool solar systems etc. it’s not like you cannot make space sim interesting, it’s that Bethesda didn’t make space sim, but advertised game as something that has elements of it.
