Hi, I just found your channel because I was actually looking for reviews of these Polar Trex boots. When it comes to dog boots, Ruffwear sets the standards. I just got a set of these Polar Trex for my working dog, a male German Shepherd. I personally love them because of the extra protection they give from the snow and ice. (Apparently my dog doesn't agree with me because he just let out a long grown.) also, those BarkN Voot liners are great, though my dog gets a bit impatient with me because putting them on adds an extra minute to our process. 🤯 It is pretty funny when you put boots on a dog for the first time. There was no fanfare when I put these on my boy since boots are such a regular part of his working gear. He just looked at me like: oh well, sucks to be me, can you get this over with so we can go out? Stay safe during this winter with your pups. Take care.
I agree, I really like them! Lucci's feet would bleed every time he played in the snow because of ice balls, but now he's good to go. Some of the other brands don't stay on as well and don't provide as much protection. A lot of people said toddler socks work well too, but I like that you can measure to get an exact fit for the liners. You as well, thank you!
Oh those are my favorite booties... Hehe the sole made from Vibrams the same people who make five finger shoes, but we never used the socks. 🤣 and you have to tighten them.
Oh I didn't even know about the Vibrams! I picked them because they were always the most recommended in all the dog groups with least complaints compared to others. LOL ok we definitely tightened them!! Lucci's stayed on fine, I want to say all the floof makes a better seal.. and we got socks because I did see a handful of people saying they rubbed their dogs toes, but never with socks on
Oh that's awesome!! We've had a little trouble with the velcro becoming snowlogged and unsticking so the boot comes off. Emailed customer service, they said to try wrap of vetwrap around the velcro! In case you run into the same trouble with dust or water
Doberman: ohhhh! my feet are grippy !!! I can push so much harder now and got faster! Bouvier : Bro! Really?! Wtf I can’t feel the ground , I feel disconnected! It feel so weird. Wait! Never mind 😅😂
So adorable! Love your little fam with 2 very different breeds and a cat! Ours too. We have an 85lb pitbull and 3 cats and I just got a tiny tall Greyhound/Chihuahua mix. We always have a mingled house lol! Thanks so much for reviewing and really giving a good show. I have to get boots for my little one and I'm not sure yet which type. Have to look and see if she still has dewclaws. They used to be removed as standard I thought but guess I was wrong. Only thing I really consider removing that isn't a medical must.💞😉👟🙏🤘
Thank you! Our Bouv apparently had his removed during docking but our Dobe didn't. Not sure what the deciding factor is there. Our Dobe hasn't had any issues so far with them rubbing! From what I've read, if they do, you can either do a double layer of socks, or use a layer of vet wrap over the dewclaw if the boot is irritating it, or vet wrap under the dewclaw around the leg if the dewclaw is pressured into digging into the leg
So how has your bouv dome with the boots? Do they fall off on hikes? Our bouv doesn’t like his feet touched so i don’t know how he will tolerate wearing boots, but would like protection when hiking on rougher terrain.
Hey guys! Love your channel and both of your dogs. We have a Boxer and love him but have been thinking about a Doberman or Bovier as our next dog since our Boxer is older. Which of the two would you recommend to be better with little kids? We have three boys all under 6 years old.
We'd vote one of each! Honestly they're both great with kids. Dobermans are the most patient dogs I've ever met. If Midas sees a kid while we're out walking, he wants to go out of his way to lick them. Bouviers were also bred to be family guardians and are amazing and protective with kids. That's why we love both breeds too. They're both awesome family dogs and guardians. Some of the biggest differences between them that I'd focus on is whether or not you want to do grooming, and type of attachment. Lucci is a large (and fun!) time commitment to haircuts, while Midas is literally a 5 minute wash and done. Dobermans also tend to be velcro- he literally must be touching us at all times- while Lucci is more like a guardian shadow that follows me room to room and posts up at the entrance to lookout while I do things. Hope that helps- tough choice!

I have had both types of dogs also, and both are good with kids if they are raised right. My big male Dutch Bouve, who was Schutzhund-trained, was a gentle giant with little kids. If he met a toddler on the street, he would automatically lie down. He wasn't trained to do that, he was just aware of his own size. He loved it if the child was allowed to pat him.
Midas is actually an American Dobe! That's why he's so lanky and tall. Since we did the Ruffwear boots, their measurements were really easy. I used a soft fabric tape and put it underneath his paw at the broadest part while he was standing with weight on it. He measured right at 2.75" on the front and 2.50" on the back.
There's also these new boots coming out soon called Clawgs that we're really excited to try since it removes the issue of pressure on the nails dogsap.com/

Yes, I think so! You would just need to keep their hair cut shorter so they do not overheat. People here in the US have Bouviers in Florida and Hawaii in tropical climates and they are fine!

@@dipugeorge8226 I think the lowest price you could find a healthy puppy here would be about $1200, although some breeders do charge much higher. That is the lowest price I have seen from breeders who have a good reputation with healthy dogs (there are some breeders who charge less, but maybe do not provide health certificates, or proof of no genetic issues with the parents).
