Not a huge fan for commercial insect repellents as the mechanism of action involves acetylcholine esterase an integral biochemical pathway shared by humans and insects alike!
If it's essential oil you need to put it in a carrier oil and don't use to much cause it's not good for your skin. Also try citronella or lavender. Lavender can be applied neat (or without a carrier) that helps as well. But I again amount matters and to much will make ya sick. Hoping you can find a bio one that works. If you don't have a pump sprayer just get one of the cheaper reptile moisture pump sprayer. It's a pump one for less than a gallon and would allow you to spray them without soaking their skin so much so you can use it more all over. Lastly i would just double check w the vet there aren't side effects... Lol i know this is a duh but had to say it 😊 good luck horse and deer flies are the WORST!
