i’m a thai native and it’s true, those milk pellet candies are really rare, not even in 7-11 can you find them - but i remember eating them as a kid when they were plentiful, if my memory isn’t too hazy they also made chocolate versions of this as well

My friend from Thailand has sent me the milk tablets before and I really liked them! I wanted to save them up but I ended up eating the ENTIRE packet in one sitting. It's SO good.

It's probably also a way to help get calcium in children's diets in a part of the world where many are lactose intolerant and the lactose is probably processed out of the tablets. Actually sounded like a good idea.

I grew up in a Thai household and me and my brother who is closest in age to me would eat raw mama all the time! We always got the pork flavor and but we both would crush in in bigger chunks so it’s nicer bites. I still sometimes eat it raw when I crave something salty and crunchy

벤토 너무 좋아ㅠㅠ 저거 매운맛 진짜 매운데 존맛탱이에요!!!ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 동남아여행 다녀올때 친구들이 많이 사다주고 그랬는데 요새는 세계과자점에 저렴하게 잘 들어오더라구요 소울스낵ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 그리고 저 분말우유 태블릿은 기아 문제가 심한 나라에 food aid 품목으로 하면 좋을거같아요 특히 아이들이 영양실조가 심해서 우리 당 덜어질때 포도당캔디 먹듯이 처방처럼 배급하면 좀 도움되지 않을까 하는 생각이 문득.. 태국 음식 암튼 좋아요 길거리에서 망고 잘라 파는 것도 넘 좋고 과일설탕음료수도 진짜 좋아요♡♡ 내년에 또 갈거양

어쩐지. 아까 덧글이 안올라가더라구요. 올리, 태국 꼭 가봐요~ 저번에 태국 여행갔을 때 푸켓에서 파인애플 옷이랑 가방 등등 파인애플 패턴 패션아이템들 잔뜩 봤어요. 보자마자 올리랑 주노 생각 나더라는~~~^^ 작은 아기 수영가방 진짜 이뻤는데. 태국가서 안전한 패션아이템도 사고 곤충도 먹고. 😋

번데기가 바삭바삭할려나 궁금했는데 그렇지는 않은가봐요. 곤충을 분말화하면 대중화에 많은 기여를 할거라고 생각해요.(이미 가능하고 하는 회사가 있는것도 알지만 마트같은데서 우리가 쉽게 살수는 없으니까요. 단가도 높고) 단백질공급원으로 탄소배출이나 엄청난 사료가 필요하지도 않으니 환경파괴도 줄어들테고요. 다만 저처럼 시각적으로 거부감을 느끼는 대다수의 사람을 위해 형태를 없애는 분말화로 다양한 가공식품들이 나온다면 좋겠어요. 구입도 쉬워지고요. 맛도 우리가 흔히 먹어왔던 식품류와 비슷하다면 금상첨화일듯...

I love that milk candy. It's super addictive. I tried the silkworm recently, 정말 싫어!! They have a cricket one which is soo much better. And yes there is a fine dining insect restaurant in Thailand. Pls film a video if you try it.

My sister bought that Bento squid jerky from Thailand and I thought it was hot AF. Looking from Ollie's expression I can say that it's really hot considering I'm not an avid fan of spicy foods. This can be taken out of context but I can say that "A hot Thai broke the virginity of my tongue."

벤또 진짜진짜 맛있어요ㅠㅠ 저거 말고 중간꺼가 진짜 핵맛졸맛! 태국과자인줄 모르고 먹었는데 이제 알았네요😀! 아주 매운맛은 향?이 강하고 약간 쓴느낌이라 오히려 먹을때 안맵고 속만아픈 느낌이고 중간맛이 딱 진짜 알알하게 매우면서 최고😍😍

Hard milk candy is a pressed candy meaning it's powder then pressed into a mould. It's not really sweet but it has a distinct flavor, it tastes kinda like a coffee whitener powder. It's really popular in Asian countries and I ate alot of then growing up

Tbh, when I saw "acid", I actually was thinking that there was a candy that was made solely from citric or malic acid, really bad for your mouth and teeth. I mean, Thai people like tart flavors, but that takes it to the extreme. It took me a few beats after seeing the milk tablets before I realized you meant THAT acid. 🤣
