Maybe this is a bad concept idea to suggest but I really imagine things uniquely... Gallium merges with other metals and makes the brittle and weak. This process takes a long time naturally. But what if gallium were to be sealed against the metal you wished it to be merged to and compressed rapidly??? Using a similar mechanism as nail guns that use primers to accelerate nails?(But probably on a bit more of an extreme scale with more energy dumped into creating immense pressure) O.o perhaps... the process of merging the metals can happen more quickly. There are many practical applications for this but I think most are destructive unfortunately.
I also had this other idea for using a hydraulic jack to make a manual air compressor :p the idea stemmed from my love of wood gas and I wondered if there was a way to store it in a propane cylinder without the need of electricity.
