My name is Nathan and I am living full-time in my RV. Patches is a 1989 Winnebago Superchief on a 1988 Chevy P30 Chassis with a 7.4l BBC 454. She is 35 feet long, rear bumper to front bumper.

REPLACE THE WATER PUMP IMPELLER, its usually in the outdrive, it pumps the water up into the motor, They are rubber you just destroyed it by running it with out water, at 13 years old it needed to be replaced anyway, the rubber breaks down. That air filter is a spark arrestor/flame arrestor, everything in marine has flame/spark arrestors, they are on the alternator as well. Anchor light is a white light on a pole usually , if you anchored in the lake at night it needs to be on so people can see where your boat is. Nice looking little boat.

you seem to know a decent amount about boats, random especially after 2 years but I have no clue what to do. I got this 2015 Volvo penta that sat for about 3 years with the oil still in it, didn’t have a heater either, the oil is super milky white 90% of it was water then the rest was just milky white sludge, you think there’s a crack in the block or is it saveable? not trying to sound condescending just looking for some help

@@connergreenway1152 Doesn't sound good. If it sat 3 years with water mixed in the oil it's going to be seized up with rust bad.

@@owenbevans6062 that’s the thing tho, we got it started and it idles perfectly fine and runs now, we got it started I’d say about a week ago

Get a new rubber water impeller before you start it again, and a 55 gallon plastic drum, cut the top off it, lower the outer unit down into the drum, fill with water up over the water intake, and you can run it that way! Check the lower unit for oil also! Watch Mustie1 videos on bringing boats back to life that have been sitting! Very informative content!

Anchor light is a light on the top of a big pole so when your anchored at night people can see you from a good distance. You stick the pole in the hole that you looked at right after talking about the switch.

you put the NATHAN FIX on that bad boy-i knew you was going to get it to run/clean the distributor cap prongs an rotor bug prong with sander paper/great job/thanks much

Definitely going to have to put a water pump in it, it should be located behind the outdrive I think on the mercruisers the outdrive had to be pulled off, on Omc cobras they were right behind a cover on the outdrive

Light pole under seat is anchor light - Gas engines on boats have special air filters with flame arrester - Most likely with running the engine now the rubber impeller of the raw water pump had the final shot. You should buy a new one anyhow before Your next start!!!................ AND before next start !!!! connect a water hose to the cooling system !!!! By the way.... Get Yourself an AUDEW Lithium Jump Starter... AWESOME....has lots of crank amps and 20000 mili amp battery and costs less than 100$.... Don´t leave home without it

The exhaust fan is to vent out gas fumes when you're filling the boat up boat engines have cast-iron exhaust that the water runs through to keep the exhaust cool and then the engine on the bottom of the outdrive there are slots where it sucks up water pumps through the cast-iron exhaust and then through the engine those plugs were probably drain out plugs to drain out extra water

You ran it way to long without water. The rubber water pump impellor is inside the lower unit. It should NEVER be run without muffs on the lower unit. Also NEVER run the engine with the outdrive raised up all the way!
