Scott Cawthon was working as a cashier, he wasn't too optimistic about FNAF 1's success bc he made other games that failed before. As the old saying goes, "Some men are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them." If you're just an honest man trying to provide for your family, and then suddenly your ALMOST FAILED passion/hobby makes you famous WORLD WIDE over night, of course he's gonna get hit hard with vertigo. Scott Cawthon is the embodiment of the meme, "Now what?" "I don't know. I never thought I'd make it this far."
And some great men die unrecognized, or get killed for their potential greatness, or are held back from ever being great because of the society in which they live. Like many supposed witches you were burnt alive just for using their brain, or for having cats that ate plague infested mice. That first half should be added onto the quote,
To quote fnafs creator, "The books are canon, just as the games are, but they don't fit together like a puzzle." But we can use pieces from the books to try to solve the story of the games. The books are canonical to the fnaf universe but not canon to the story the games tell. But they are in the same universe.
It's important to note that this was written about The Silver Eyes before it was a confirmed trilogy of books. Fazbear Frights was first announced as having some books being directly connected to the games with others not, and Tales From the Pizzaplex is stated to be set in the world of the latest games.
i think people fail to notice that about the books freddy fazbears is able to be in other places around america. theres not just 1 mcdonalds there a bunch around america
@@em-diamond9769…You’re telling me there are multiple William Aftons that murdered children and got springlocked inside yellow Bonnie animatronics? Because that’s the only way the books take place at other locations in the same universe.
wendigoon's video is much more understandable since he doesnt pick parts from the games too much, unlike this video puffer watched. it's hella confusing since he hasn't played any games past FNAF 1 yet
I feel like it's more unorganized do to how it tries to explain things in the story when trying to tell the story unlike how MatPat's he leaves explanation at the end. Not to mention how each FanF story explain can be very different in so many different ways but that is entire different argument.
hopefully we'll gaslight him into watching matpat's timeline videos, instead of the first video he finds which doesn't portray the fnaf timeline in a narrative way.
Tbh MatPat’s 4 episode series helps lay out the story easier. Also I saw you played Fnaf 1 with droid and If you want a true challenge you should play fnaf 4.
@@yeahherewego2606 fnaf 4 is audio-based where you have to actually listen to prevent getting jumpscared in case you check with ur flashlight, so people usually put it to max volume. In turn, when jumpscared, it's an earrape
For the record, Retcon doesn't mean reboot as much as it means rewrite. To retcon usually means to alter an already-established piece of the story in order to better suit a later part, whether that means to change it or outright delete it from canon.
So a requel? Kinda like Halloween movie franchise. 2018 just started over and ignored everything that happened after the first 2 movies and moved on to Kills and Ends. Or the Scream movies. Scream 5 and 6 is basically Scream 1, 2, and 4 all over again with but with a new generation of characters taking the front and the OGs sitting in the back. And then the Jurassic Park franchise with the Jurassic World trilogy. Or am I just lost?
The reason there will always be a push for new people to join into the craze of something that has a fanbase is because the fanbase just LOVES to see new people be info dumped on all the things they had to slowly take in for YEARS. Its a dopamine I swear. ANYWAYS, Join us Puffer, join us in suffering in the FNAF community, you know youre too curious
I really love the recent fnaf vids because I know almost NOTHING about fnaf. It’s so funny to watch someone who also has no understanding about the lore learn about it
The reason FNAF was revolutionary at the time was because without it a lot of Indie Games wouldn't happen. It opened peoples' eyes on the fact that high graphics and complex gameplay doesn't equal to a good game, as long as someone has an idea and knows how to execute that idea a game can become one of the greatest of all time.
11:20 When I tell you I *CHOKED* on my popcorn, I did *NOT EXPECT SUCH SLANDER.* For someone who hates poor people, to hate on a show about copious amounts of treasure is _BAMBOOZLING_ 42:40 Nevermind, I got it now 👍
Was just about to comment the same thing. Not boring Emo need get big strong "too edgy for friends". Ignores every person who tells him that he is fucking up (including the dude who said yo I know I said you can't have friends and be strong but I was dumb). The coolest thing Sasuke does is take on the raikage, but 1 he need 3 other wimps and 2 the raikage does even cooler things I.E. full body chidori (lariat) and cuts his own arm off with his hand to stop the black flame after Sasuke runs like a wimp. Boring Story of friends fighting the government because they are corrupt and trying to claim what freedom they can snag on a big road trip to treasure millions speak about like Atlantis and El Dorado. but what do I know I've just spent hours reading both.
The confusing part about the lore about fnaf 4 is that on the side table besides the bed you could sometimes see a vase of flowers, medicine, and a iv machine which wouldnt add up to them being real but some evidence makes sense but the idea of all of fnaf 4 being a constant torment of C.C/ evan. Due to the fact that the bite left him in the hospital
This confused me too, but there's the theory that Michael is the main character in FnaF 4 and the Nightmares are created from "Illusion Disks". One of the Nightmare's voicelines in UCN mentions how he's "no longer an illusion", which adds to this theory. This could explain why we'd randomly see flowers and an IV drip, because Michael was hallucinating.
Honestly the person that did this video obviously put effort into this video but sadly there are a few inconsistencies with the timeline and lore (like how fnaf 1 phone guys mentions the bite of 87 like it happened a bit ago, and yet he places fnaf 2 after fnaf 1) I highly recommend Wendigoon’s video as he constructed the timeline to what makes sense narratively (at least to me)
Not just you brother, he breaks it down almost perfectly. As perfectly as anyone can get as the storyline wasn’t written out before game 1 was even made.
A channel named "Hyper Droid" has an actual 1 hour and 28-minute video where he goes entirely through the lore in perfect order of the games. I definitely recommend that video.
doubt he'll watch an hour and a half long video. higher chances are that we manage to make him watch matpat's 4 videos explaining the timeline by a narrative standpoint
im a bit confused on that video can you help me? I just dont understand why the 5 children didnt posses the animatronics right away like how charlie and elizabeth did? they only posessed the animatronics when puppet came
Surprisingly, this video still gets a ton of details wrong. The best video to understand the timeline succinctly would be MatPat's 4-part series. I personally recommend Wendigoon's video on this. He doesn't get every detail, but his explanation is more on-point and the way he explains it is the most entertaining imo. He also explains things that don't make sense in detail, like how the crying child possesses Golden Freddy
@@TheMuler Right like how did he manage to mess that up? It's like commonly known that the nightmare animatronics are hallucinations planted by Afton. Like even in their name "nightmare"
We all have the clues in fnaf but the only thing we didnt yet to solve is the motive of William Afton and the Timeline of events. MatPat already tried but he wasn't still sure if those video were the correct timeline
Okay but you do gotta know something about the first games. Scott at first didn't care about making money and was just happy to be making games and have a community.
Puffer, PLEASE go watch Matpat's Ultimate Timeline series! Although it's not definitive, it's one of the best ways to learn about the lore up until now, even better than the two videos you've already watched since that 4-parter goes into a lot more detail about the lore. The amazing part is that MatPat even cites his sources so you know where he got the information from. Not only that; but at the end of each part, he goes into further detail and explains how he got to his conclusions. Because of this, every single second of those videos is important, meaning you can't just skip forward in the videos, not even once, as you did in this one because EVERYTHING is relevant. You also gotta be paying attention and pausing whenever you talk, which you already do. As I've said earlier, it's 4 part mini-series so it would probably be best if you dedicated each part to its own video just so sanity stays intact (I'm only *half* exaggerating on that one). Just a few minor points to clear up before you start watching the videos (Fair Warning: the points are in no way minor): Remnant is, in fact, NOT just for kids. I know it may seem that way from how it was presented in this video, but I can assure you that's not how Remnant works. As a matter of fact, there are 2 types of Remnant in this franchise: Light Remnant and Dark Remnant. Light Remnant can basically be described as a substance that forms when someone experiences positive emotions such as joy or even excitement and then they form happy memories which then allow one's body to emit the substance known as Light Remnant into the air. Now, anyone (at least from what I can tell) can emit Light Remnant if they're joyous enough (or something like that), but it's most commonly found in kids because they're more likely to experience positive emotions at any given time. This is where the animatronic delivery app comes in. You can order an animatronic for any event or holiday themed around that event. This is what the newest CEO of Fazbear Entertainment (the identity of whom will be revealed in the final part of MatPat's ultimate timeline) collects Remnant during the events of FNAF AR to help out with what they may or may not be doing around the events of FNAF Security Breach. It's kinda hard to explain how the Light Remnant gets collected, but it has something to do with it getting absorbed and fused to the metal that makes up an animatronic's endoskeleton. (I hope that was a good enough explanation) Now, Dark Remnant is different. It's basically made out of negative emotions such as anger, fear, or agony. This is what you can classify as "soul energy" because what can be more agonizing than death (actually, a lot can be more painful than death but for the sake of this comment, let's ignore that for now). The logistics of a soul being able to possess an animatronic is complicated, to say the least, but the general consensus is that if you die or you are killed within the general vicinity or because of an animatronic, your soul will undoubtedly come to possess that animatronic since your soul, aka Dark Remnant, would get absorbed and fused to the endoskeleton, therefore allowing you to live after death. The reason why Michael Afton stayed alive when he "refused to die" is because his anger fueled the Remnant coursing through his veins, which made him unable to die. However, the main reason why Michael Afton stayed alive after Ennard left his body was that when Ennard used the scooper on Michael to scoop out his organs, that injected Remnant into his body, and after Ennard left Michael's body, he unknowingly left some metal inside of him, causing Micheal Afton to possess his own rotting corpse. Also, Elizabeth didn't intentionally kill her brother. Well, she did, but she did not realize it was him. Hopefully, that clears up any questions this video may have left you with. However, that's FAR from nearly everything FNAF lore has to offer. So, as I said in the beginning, I beg you to watch Game Theory's Ultimate Timeline series. It's very intuitive and explains the lore and history of the franchise WAY more than this video can. Welcome to the FNAF Community... Here are the videos in order linked below: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gWOXSh4-Iuc.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oLj9qS9EgB8.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X2LyUpsd8uY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qGJLTDxnMs8.html Enjoy!!! 😄❤ Edit: This is probably the longest comment I've ever typed. Please make it worth it. I really love your videos, and I'm not the only one asking for this.
I think the FNAF ultimate timeline by MatPat explains a lot more of this, and does it better, and he cities his soruces in the bottom left corner, and goes over why its true at the end of each episode. He also made another episode of the timeline going over the Ruin dlc.
I know a ton of people have already said it, but I hope it’ll have some sort of push for you to watch lol. In any case, I highly recommend the 4 part by matpat. It’s so fun to watch new players try to understand it
The fnaf 4 nightmare animatronics are another parallel to the books. The animatronics are just regular endoskeletons (like the ones you see in the service rooms without the animatronic characters' outfits on) with a little disc that makes the people within a certain proximity see them as said nightmare animatronics. This is proven to be canon in sister location when working on funtime freddy in the parts and service section. There is a black disc with a small, circular red light (called an "illusion disc") that perfectly matches the description in the books. Matpat explains this extremely well, and I haven't found anyone else who can explain it simpler than him. The reason the child "died" is because he gets too scared by the nightmare "attacking" him and goes into cardiac arrest.
The worst part is that FNAF 4 actually built on the story really well. It's a prequel after all, it's the first so far chronologically. So Scott wanted to basically build on the whole Fredbear's family diner that was shown in FNAF 3 as a minigame. And that was great. Sister Location was a weird spin to the story and mostly because before FNAF 5 the silver eyes FNAF book came out. The game gave good answers but once again.. new questions. Scott's biggest mistake was never making a game to explain more rather than just add more questions. And he could have fixed that by giving us a prequel that would describe the original missing kids incident (chronologically before FNAF 2). And then gave us FNAF Pizza sim. afterwards. Pizza sim was a great ending genuinely and it did explain a lot to what happened after Sister location. Michael was alive, Ennard split up and The Puppet was still out there and so was Springtrap, then you(Michael) lure them into a facility run by William's old ass partner from back in the day. He burns you all down, the END. He could have also made a Fredbear's family diner game that would play out during the events of the bite of '83 from the perspective of Phone guy(because phone guy has worked with Fazbear entertainment since the start of the Springlock technology). Guess what? Someone from the fnaf community made a game like that. It's a fan-game called "The Return to Bloody Nights". It's like a legit valuable prequel that explains more, it actually emphasizes on when William goes crazy and kills the first ever kid. At this point it genuinely feels like Scott kind of let's the fandom make their own games to explain the story. And I'm not gonna talk about the current lore and what's happening(Glithtrap, Elizabeth, Cassidy and plenty of characters having their story currently be retconed). The ideal story lengthy series of games would be 6-7. Here, chronologically: 1.Fredbear's family diner(Phone guy perspective) 2. FNAF 4(basically Fredbear's but the kid's perspective or his brother's) 3.FNAF Origins(5 missing kids incident) 3. FNAF 2 4. FNAF Sister Location(I think,Circus Baby's pizzeria, killer robots, explanation of William experimenting with kids and haunting, Michael becomes a "zombie") 5. FNAF 1(Michael searches for his dad, William. William dies in that year) 6. FNAF 3(Fazbear frights, the comeback of William, explanation to how and when William died, little emphasis on Fredbear's family diner) 7. FNAF 6(THE ULTIMATE ENDING, EVERYONE DIES FOR GOOD). And the amount of fangame universes there are, Scott could have just directly funded one of them to be the alternate FNAF. My personal choice would be FNAC(Five night's at candy's) the lore so far is actually pretty good, there's 3 games so far and there's a 4th one on the way and it's been in the works for years. Seriously check out the game, the lore is really fine and solidified.
puffer doesnt understasnd how hard it was to follow the lore growing up when it was still in its early stages, every month everything we though we knew was either obliterated or changed
fr. Remember the good couple years ago when we though Glitchtrap was just William in the metaverse? Now it's actually a mimic program with another mimic program. Mimic 1 is copying william, mimic 2 is an old mimic that was first copying Charlotte, then Elizabeth and now back to Charlotte and her Bunny plush theodore. You don't understand that? THAT'S BECAUSE IT MAKES NO FKIN SEEEENSEEE!!! OOO SCARYYY
25:48 I thought it was Michael hallusinating that his brother (Crying Child/Golden Freddy/Fredbear) was hauting his brother saying, "IT'S ME" through the window. Michael broke out to see if his brother is still in his grave, or if he is just hallusinating
puffer trying to understand the FNAF lore from the first video was the first time i've ever watched him, and i came back more intrigued on him trying to understand the 1 hour long video lol
I don't know about anybody else but I could watch every FNAF lore video to help explain and help me understand the FNAF storyline but yet still have no clue what happened throughout the entire thing but still enjoy the story.😂😂😂 (Hope this makes sense)
6:15, there are minigames, bits of lore from phone conversation, and even notices when you get fired from thr locations. Sister loaction has the naimatronics speak to you, and rpetty much tells you what's happening outright
To my understanding, remnant is the result of really strong emotions experienced by anyone, not just children The reason kids are prominently mentioned with it is prob because of the intense emotion of terror they felt before being killed, and the sheer rage and drive to exact revenge upon William Afton As for why William was able to continue living after being springlocked.. He's simply built different, also he's a psychopath. I am currently 32 minutes into the video and am too impatient to watch it all to tell a likely explanation for the goofy aah concept that is remnant
We gotta get Puffer watching all kinds of one hour lore vids just to see him have these kind of emotional roller coaters between "Oh hell yeah NOW i'm invested!" and "What the hell does that even mean, dude?!"
I agree with a lot of the other comments here, this vid's alright but it still gets a few things wrong. tbh I think GameTheory's 4 part timeline series does a much better job. it makes a few assumptions because fnaf lore is a mess but Matpat goes through literally every bit of media that FNAF has (all of like the 12 the books, literally all the games up to security breach, all the survival guides/official lore books) to create a really decent timeline. he does a really good job of categorizing the fnaf timeline into clear chunks and does a very nice job clearly explaining the lore so I'd suggest checking his video out since he's regarded as like the top fnaf theory expert in the fnaf community. I mean the guy's been making theory videos and trying to figure out the lore of the fnaf series for almost a decade, he know's his fnaf lore
Ah yes, it is as confusing as my friends explained it. Did I watch the 1 hour video no. Did I watch puffer go through the 1 hour video? Yes was it worth it? For puffer, no, for me? Yes
Recent speculation and evidence would show the nightmare animatronics aren't real things but rather mannequins that look like big scary horrifying monsters because of gas the William suggest either the crying child or Michael too as a way of keeping them in the house
OK. I was extremely dubious when he started explaining midnight motorist. Gotta say. It might not be true. But that make a hell lot of sense. It's worth exploring. Better than most explanation I've seen. Except for the footprints. EDIT : I shut up it's amazing. Still might not be true but it's so good.
watch puffer do another video watching Matpat's or Fuhnaff's video to understand it more because his twitch chat wants to see him suffer through confusion. might happen next month, never truly know until it happens.
The FNAF movie that comes out October 27 of this year, Josh Hutcherdson plays Mike Smidt which is a fake name used by Micheal Afton which means the girl with Mike Smidt is his sister Elizabeth Afton. They call her “Abby” but it’s definitely Elizabeth and “Steve Raglan” is a fake name Matthew Lilard uses when he plays William Afton
Puffer having a hard time wrapping his head around FnaF makes sense when you realize he missed out on possibly the best years of most people's lives. We lived through this. We know the theories, the stories, the retcons, and the lore that was slowly pieced together over time. He did not.
this video just seemed like a whole lot of "watch matpat's video for further explanation". matpat's ultimate timeline explanations make so much more sense😂
I have watched various lore videos on FNAF including MatPat's just to understand what was going on in the games and they always end up using "trust me bro" logic. Plus the logic of the so called over arching story line is more complicated than the three Spider-man Clone sagas combined.
MatPat's videos explain the lore the best I would say... it's a shame half of his channel is FNAF Theory videos though... I stopped watching them after the 50th theory video or something. FNAF Lore, you now. At this point I feel like it was never meant to be understood. And this is what my childhood has been... no wonder I require psychiatric medication...
I love that puffer went through all the feelings FNAF lore fans have, you get interesed and invested, then youre like wtf is this shit, then youre like OHHHHH, then back again to that doesnt make any fucking sense. in the end youre just left intrigued but still not knowing anything that fucking happened lmao
Yall cant get onto puffer for not understanding lol. Because of his other fnaf lore video made me go back and watch the fnaf lore stuff too. And what i gathered was nothing is confirmed and everything is up in the air
Remnant is the "Agony" or anger of the spirit that dies prematurely. Making it so that anyone who is murdered could latch themselves onto an object, and that object could be turned into a liquid referred to as Remnant.
Its amazing that every timeline I've seen on FNAF varies SO DAMN MUCH from each other! It my opinion, each game has its own lore and there's an overarching theme that links them all. But they don't fit together perfectly, like a puzzle. I wish Scott would just drop the lore. He could even monetize it by writing a book. But I want some clarity on this shit.
We guys could handle the spiderverse and the metaverse, why couldnt YOU puffer handle a fnafverse multiverse for real, its like having couple parallel universes in the same world!! Its brilliant!! I would love to have all the fnaf in one world instead of using a multiversal crack in time and space to go to another world with fnaf but just different
MatPat does such a better timeline in his series after Pizzaplex. Especially with the multiple endings... Has all the modern/current stuff. Yes, older stuff was retconned, but that just means the video you watched isn't accurate anymore😂
The unmarked grave was the crying child not the wife she was the one sitting on the couch Micheal (the oldest brother) was the one who ran to the grave to see if the grave was covered.
@@slendermanvpdeath7893For real, I'm like pulling my hair because of this shit ass lore video. Not even a fan of the Five nights at Freddy's but here we are. Lol
Puffer it’s highly recommended to watch all MatPat official timeline videos if you really want to understand the FNaF lore. That’s all there is to it. (Even though it’s an hour each video). He’s the one right for the job.
I get he’s trying to understand but like this is kinda annoying, he wasn’t there in the trenches, he wasn’t in the Wild West of fnaf, he wasn’t digging through the source code, he wasn’t scouring every little Easter egg to find lore, you just had to be there.
