Hey everyone, Thank you all for making 2023 such an amazing year. I wanted to do one big last project before the end of the year. Hope you all enjoy! The mods I’m using in Skyrim as well as Morrowind are listed in the description along with today’s tracklist. I also wanted to send my condolences to the fans, friends, colleagues and loved ones of Mitten Squad. Without Paul, the passion that many of us have for challenges, limited runs, and other goofy content in BGS games simply doesn’t exist. They were a brilliant writer, a dedicated worker, and endlessly creative. Mitten Squad was a pioneer in this space, and an inspiration to so many of us. We will all miss them dearly
I have a brilliant idea Skyrim alphabetical quest line You must finish all the quests thst start with a then b then c and so n so. If a puest with a previous letter appears you must finish it first
I honestly don't have the words to describe how good of a creator Paul was. Between his choices of games and his all too genuine personality, he took an over saturated genre and made it his own. From his witty turns of phrase to taking potshots at himself, he turned an otherwise copy/paste niche into a genuine product of passion. It's utterly heartbreaking that he's gone, but going just as his career truly began is about as Paul as it could get. Rest in peace you beautiful bastard.
"Besides, forks are kinda someone else's thing." So, when I tell you I teared up out of nowhere... Thanks for the tribute, Joov. It feels like the sort of thing he would have enjoyed. RIP Paul. This is where the real game begins.
Mitten was the first channel I found years ago that turned me onto Joov, Jabo, and so many others. He may be gone but he’ll never be forgotten. RIP Paul.
It's still hard to believe he's gone. I remember that he passed, and each time I also think "What? No he isn't, I was just watching one of his videos the other day." It's weird how the preservation of a deceased person's work almost makes it seem like they're still alive. It fucks with you.
He is the reason I truly fell in love with fallout and the elder scrolls series and is the reason I'm here on this video. me and my cat used to cuddle up and watch his latest upload together, and now it just feels weird to no longer expect a new video to come out. I recently started a new playthrough of Fo4 in his memory R.I.P The Legend That is Paul of Mittinsquad.
Love you Paul. Every morning since last Christmas i drink from my "this is where the real game begins" coffee mug. You made me and so many others laugh with your entertaining, quality content. You will be missed. Thank you for the great memories. Rest easy Paul. Also thank you Joov for paying your respects to him, the community thanks you for it ❤
Paul was ahead of his time and it is so sad to have lost such an amazing person. But he did what few of us will ever accomplish, he touched so many people and that's such a huge thing. This community is amazing and so loving. He was great and all of you are great, always remember that.
As long as folks like you, Nerbit, and Jabo carry the Bethesda Challenge torch, Paul's legacy will never truly die. I raise a bottle of Nuka-Cola in his honor.
Paul was awesome. His videos and his sense of humour were top notch and I am sad to hear of his passing. I just lost my dad today. This Christmas hug your family and friends because whilst it's a time for celebrating, life will still throw it's own challenges at you when you least expect it.
Man, what a way to find out that one of your favorite content creators from a few years ago has passed. I'm truly sorry for him, his friends, and his family, especially having to deal with this during the holiday. I can only hope he knew how many smiles he put on people's faces before he went. RIP Paul.
Rest in peace to Paul. He was such a funny creator and changed the gaming community for the better with his challenge runs and I will forever love his videos. You will always be missed
Man, I'm feeling a bit down lately and this video is the thing, I need. Thank you, Joov, as stupid as this sounds, your content made one of the worst years in my life a bit better. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to you!
@@mushroomsrcool1449 It's not a happy time for everyone. There's people out there who don't sit under a pretty tree, don't get presents from anyone, and don't celebrate the holidays with anyone. And among those, there are many who don't spend those times like that by choice. Always good to remember that having all those nice parts of life is a privilege, and not a given.
Thank you for such a nice little tribute to Paul, you are one of my favorite creators joov but so was Mittensquad and it makes me love you even more to see such a heartfelt tribute to a late great legend in the gaming and RU-vid community.
I hope somehow some way Paul knows I've already seen this and cried, and now I'm back over half a year later crying at all the kindness and memories shared in the comment for him. RIP always Mitten Squad
Thank you for the little tribute to Paul its nice knowing how much he impacted all of us. Also i really appreciate this coming out today, the holidays are always a rough time of year for me and i really needed it this year. Thank you Joov
Without Paul I’d have never found any of these challenge runners and it actually all started from his beating gta5 with only a pistol and it lead me here,to jabo and Darkviper AU. RIP Paul and I’m proud to share a name with you.
Joov, thank you for being here and for taking the time to make great content. You're a gem and discovering you was an absolute gift. I appreciate all the tough times you got me through and I'm happy for you to be my main source of entertainment. We're beyond lucky to have you and we love watching you continue to succeed.
If you have an xbox 360 and a kinect, the 360 version of Skyrim uses the kinect mic to let you shout the skyrim shouts and activate them in the game. Might be a fun idea?
Heartbroken this is how I hear about Paul. Many many lonely or ill hours if watch his videos to get me through - it's so lovely to read everyone's comments and see how many people have been touched by his presence and content. Rest up big guy ❤
As someone who does not enjoy Skyrim but greatly enjoys Fallout, I still enjoy your Skyrim content a whole damn lot. I suppose Skyrim just doesnt do it for me. But you, like many others in the community of challenge runs have given it a great deal of effort to bring out very enjoyable content for sure, stuff that will always bring me back, not because of the game but due to your own drive and passion and personality. Keep up the good joob... I mean work. Keep up the good work Joov! It is a genuine shame that Mitten Squad has been taken so soon but I seeing this section just at the start of your video warmed my heart. May he rest in peace and show god whos boss, armed with fork and bucket. We will never forget you Paul. And we will also never forget you Joov. You all, gone and present, rock.
Happy Holidays to you, Joov! The loss of Paul has hit me real hard I wont lie... but your videos are a comfort and awe inspiring, as in your own way you've made your channel based off Mitten Squad's originality. You have your own unique way of going about your own challenges and thats refreshing. I miss Paul so much. I loved him dearly. He helped me through hard times... it hurts knowing i cant help him, or hear his voice beautifully eloquate cleverly written lines that are bound to please and bring laughter. Rest in peace, Joseph (Paul) may you fly high with broom, bucket and fork. 🙏
Paul’s memory will be remembered by thousands if not millions. And a big Thank you Joov for this year, I’m glad to have discovered your channel. Hope you have a good holiday this year and a great year ahead in 2024. Platonic heart emoji from this silly Aussie guy.
Mittensquad was one of my favorite RU-vidrs, I actually found your channel from the recommended list of one of Paul's videos. Thank you for youe videos, and your channel Joov. Your 15 second intro made me cry
What happened to paul?... i thought he was just going through the drinking problem.. Edit: just found out. Started crying uncontrollably at 3:52 am while my fiance was trying to sleep. We are all going to miss you Paul, and you will forever be in our memories and be a role model to us with the challenge community showing we can overcome anything we put our minds to. You will forever be a role model of mine.
I believe he passed away from pancreatitis which was related to his drinking. His family didn’t officially release his information so we will never know for sure but we gotta respect their wishes
Rest In Peace Paul. The only reason I even found your channel Joov, was because of Paul. His videos opened me to a whole genre of RU-vid Fallout/Skyrim videos. My heart shattered hearing about his passing and I pray that whatever afterlife there is, he gets to rest knowing how much joy and love and entertainment he has brought to us all. Also absolutely amazing video Joov, keep up the amazing work. Much love brother. Keep up the good work in the name of Paul. ❤
Rip Mitten squad. He wasn't the first person I found doing Skyrim challenges but when I did find him I loved his videos. So sad to hear he's gone. Great vid as always Joov
Dude here I am laying in bed at 2:30 am in tears cause I had zero clue why Paul stopped posting I looked it up and it happened during my basic training cycle so I had no way of knowing at the time I still remember years ago when I found his videos and how much they made me smile rest in peace Paul
Hey man, just thought I'd send a comment, I don't normally send them but I'd like to remind you that you wake up in the mornings and you start doing these amazing things with the game, the fact that you are able to program all these wacky things into the game shows all the hard work you have put into learning those skills and you should be happy that you have all these people that support you during these hard times, I hope you all the best and I know you will continue doing what you love. Keep up the good work my friend.
" Forks are kinda... someone else's thing. " And now I'm sad about it all over again... It's always the coolest and nicest people that have the worst demons... I'm sorry, Paul...
I don't know if you're still soliciting ideas, but here is one I've attempted and pulled off twice and it was fun, frustrating, tedious, and nail-biting all at the same time. Save Bleak Falls Barrow for later in the game. I suggest at least level 20 so you get some tougher enemies spawning in the starter dungeon. Proceed through the dungeon normally until you come to the first trap room, the one with the rotating pedestals and the big ominous handle dead center. Everyone of course already knows that as you approach the room there is a bandit already in there and he's scripted to walk up, pull the handle, and instantly die from the poison arrow trap unless the dragonborn aggros him (in which case it's just a normal bandit fight). Your challenge: Make it all the way through the dungeon, obtain the dragon stone and the word of power. You may not attack any enemies with spells or weapons although you may creatively use traps as you are able. The bandit in the first trap room must survive, and make it to the end of the dungeon with you. I'll leave it vague how best to do that because discovery is part of the fun. (I have never been able to do this as a lower level. Getting your bandit friend through the swinging spiked gate trap alive when he gets one-shotted by it is really hard. Best bet is to trigger it yourself so it swings right past your nose and then sprint through with him following as it resets. Good luck!)
He was the first channel that did this sort of content that I found, I remember going to his channel almost every night cause he was so calming to listen to. I will miss him (even more)
Requiescat é pace. As you said, Paul was a pioneer in the BRPG challenge running universe and he got me into challenge runs in general. I still can't believe he's gone. May his memory live longer than he ever thought possible.
Paul made incredible videos, I’m glad to see others here who also enjoyed their work, thank you Joov for adding a note to him. I’m not huge into modding my games, but I would love to see Mitten Squad modded into Sovngarde amongst the other great hero’s of Skyrim!
love to see brand new Joov in the recommended, this will be a nice trip down memory lane, and rip to our boy mittens that helped make this possible for all of us
All the music choices in this video are absolutely fantastic, I'm not even 10 minutes in and there's already been at least 4 different game soundtracks I love lol
Paul single handedly got me back into Skyrim and fallout after taking a break from Bethesda as a whole, and in general helped me fall in love with gaming again by challenging myself in different ways while playing. He showed me how to make my own fun, and I’ve taken this lesson into my life and thrived thanks to it. It also must be said he practically created a community that so many wonderful creators are a part of now. Who all spread so much joy. He’ll be missed. May he rest well and may he have peace wherever the game finally begins.
Mitten Squad was one of the things i flund during lockdown that helped me get through those isolating months. I was able to laugh until i cried, and the world feeled like a much more manageable place. I think it's beautiful that his fingerprints are seen in all over this "challenge" in the BGS games community. Even for those who cover games outside of it. He wasn't the first, but his style was pioneering. I hope he rests peacefully. Now, the real game begins.
I have just found out so late why Mitten Squad stopped posting and I am so devastated. Months later, sending so so so much love to his friends and family. Its all I can do ❤
It's pretty rare that Tom actually gets to win in an episode of Tom&Jerry. P.S. rip Paulie, his humor was a pretty unique twist on bethesda challenge vids✊
As a recovering alcoholic Paul always spoke to me, he helped me through the hard times, helped me not binge myself into oblivion by giving me distractions from my own problems.
Hbomb's skyrim video is actually an aprils fools joke! He talks about the intro being trash for like 10 minutes and the rest if the video is literally patreon creditts its AMAZING
The Mitten Squad memorium hit me like a brick man, it's hard to believe he's gone and I'm gonna miss him so much, he deserved so much better and I'm glad he inspired so many people to also do challenges
Here's an idea for a skyrim challenge: clear a major dungeon tired to a quest line (for examples; Labyrinthian, Mzulft, Bleak Falls Barrow, the abandoned excavation, etc.) using only magic, but once you cast a spell you cannot use it a second time. So if you summon an atronach once it's gone you can't cast that spell again. For spells like flames once you stop casting the spell or run out of magica you can't cast it again.
An almost 2 hour Elder Scrolls video that mentions Micky D AND Hbomberguy on Christmas Eve is actually a Christmas miracle. I hope everyone has a good holiday 💚
Gaming RU-vid will never really be quite the same again without Paul. He seemed like such a genuinely fun, cool, likeable guy, even beyond just his videos. His unique brand of deadpan humor never ceases to make me laugh. At least he has a legacy - that man didn't go quietly into the night to be forgotten. He'll be remembered by hundred-thousands... maybe more.
Fun Fact: You can romance Nazeem's wife, which leads to her killing him in order for her to be single so you can marry her. 10+ years of playing, and I didn't even know he was married.
found this channel a couple of days ago and I had very low expectations, but now this is literally all I can watch. these videos scratch an itch I didn't know I had, and joov puts so much work into these videos. love this channel
