The TS Performance Six Position Chip offers more power at the rear wheels than any other chip or downloader on the market. You can adjust between the 6 settings while driving by simply turning a knob mounted on the dash. No need to pull over and download a different setting while the competition passes you by.
NOTE: 1997 F-250 does NOT have the PCM located as shown in the video. A 1997 F-250 has the PCM located BEHIND the emergency brake (you cannot see it inside the cab without removing the entire emergency brake pedal). You have to slide the PCM out through the front of the firewall in the engine compartment. You have to also remove the fender well screws and pry the fender well down to get the PCM out.

I'll add a little extra tip from someone who has very little business in the garage. When you are pulling out the top 10mm from the computer bracket, don't let it fall. Mine did and disappeared into the ether. I think it must have fallen in the little gap between the sheet metal and the trim at the floorboard.

You will want to pull the PCM and get the code off of it because it could be a Cal edition truck, this way we can get you accurate tuning.

Had to install this for someone cuz a shop said " the ecu was rebuilt and cant be installed" so anytime they installed it it wouldn't turn on, found out dummies at shop dont know how to scrub their junk with how little cleaning they did on terminals. Took 2 tries cleaning but got it running for the person

Interested in this. One thing I see that would be real handy is a numbered plate to mount behind the switch knob so at a glance you could know what tune you have selected without having to 'count the clicks'.

Excellent video! I chose to mount my switch on the fixed part of the dash, to the right of the wheel, rather than put my fuse box cover on a leash, but to each his own. The performance difference on my '01 F250 is fantastic, but the real shock was the fuel economy. Highway mileage went from 17 mpg stock to just over 21 with the tuner! Not a fluke, either. This comes from several 100+ mile highway trips. My best, so far, is 21.3 on a 300-mile drive. At $3.00/gallon, the tuner will pay for itself in under 10k miles!

Was this your first chip on the truck? I've been running a Tri-Power chip since 2003 on my '01 and was contemplating one of the newer 6 position chips in order to gain the stock setting that my current chip does not have. As it is, I have to remove the chip to pass Commiefornia smog every two years. Also the current chip hasn't improved the fuel mileage at all. I would love to see 21 mpg, especially at $6.39+ per gallon for diesel now, here in the land of fruits and nuts headed by Governor Hairgel Empty Suit Newsom.

+Rod McNutt I've got a 1995 also. I know the procedure is a little different on the early models. Did you find it necessary to remove the finder skirt to access the PCM?

I did not take it out all the way......i just loosened up what i needed to get access..... take your time dont get frustrated. ... the biggest problem was getting the pcm out ...it was a little corroded and stuck to the metal housing..... i took a wooden dowl and tap with a small hammer to break it free and it slid right out. Good luck

TS6 stands for Transmission Slaughter in 6 different tunes. Do yourself a favor and get a Hydra with custom tunes or don't get a tuner at all.

As a person who works on electronic equipment and repairs Circuit Boards. It's a very BAD idea to go down to the copper. The silver coating on those contacts is a corrosion preventative. Going down to the copper removes that protection and WILL cause MAJOR connection problems in about a year as moisture corrodes the copper. After cleaning the old grease off, use some Isopropyl Alcohol or Acetone to clean the tabs. Wipe the fibers off and put some Permatex Silicon Electrical Grease on them and then connect the Tuner. This will ensure a reliable LONG term connection. So is there a way to determine what ECM Code is on it without removing it, or have they been updated to accept any 2001 code at this point? I have a 2001 7.3L F350 4x4 Lariat Full Door Crew Cab. Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

Both in stock mode and with any added HP mode my truck runs rough (heavy vibration & lack of power) in between 45-60mph. If I’m accelerating through 45-60 it’s not so bad, more so happens when I cruise at 55mph let’s say.

mud digger To do that you would have had to cut the box so that the chip can go on. I don’t suggest that either. It will allow the chip to “walk” on the board.

Now there is a little washer with a tab on it with the dial. I found out(the hard way) it matters where the tab is placed in the dial. It controls how and when the clicks are. Note where it is when you get it so if it falls off you can put it right back.

I had the TS chip installed on a 1997 Ford and a 1999 Ford 7.3 power stroke engine both of them failed after six months and literally stopped the engine from running until I took it out and it cranked immediately after I would not recommend TS chip

Are you supposed to have to remove the chip before you can use a scan tool to diagnose problems ? My truck was having a miss problem. The place I took it to in Texas said they had to remove the chip before there scan tool would work. That also cured the miss.

What year truck? The PCM connection has a 10mm bolt and is inside the fender well on the Super Duty trucks and can be accessed with the fender liner in place. The OBS trucks, same bolt but the fender well needs to be removed.

If you want anti theft of valet, just give us a call. Anti theft position wont let the truck start and valet limits the speed the truck will go.

So I got this chip installed it, it runs then stalls. A diesel tech says the chip is messed up. so I called the place I bought the chip and they said I’m wrong he’s wrong you guys who made the video is wrong. Said you have to go down to bare copper. Not dogging Thoroughbred Diesel because you guys are very informative. But Advanced diesel is saying you’re installing the chip incorrect. I just think there chips are cheap.

Is there a fuel re-learn process I should do in stock mode after unplugging the batteries. For example some cars and trucks you need to drive at 60mph for 25mules or so to re-learn fuel trim etc

The guys at TS specifically told me to clean the contacts all the way to the copper. They said if any of that silver layer is left, it can cause problems.

I got my ts 6 position chip and removed my e-brake mount found my pcm and then watched your video, I know the video was on a 1999 and you highly stressed the point to not leave the box off or cut too big of a hole in it so that the chip doesnt move. Well my 95 doesnt have a box holding it. how do I secure the chip with out the box? The video was a great help. Thank you.

David Nagy Anything you can do to keep the chip from “walking” will be beneficial. On the OBS trucks, you can simply use electrical tape to keep the chip stable.

Trans temp will be relative to how you drive the truck (abuse) and the condition of the trans. If you feel that your trans is on its last leg already, I would be very cautious. Even stock HP with a careless driver can toast a trans

Great video, very informative, thank you for taking the time out of your day to post it. I have a question and please understand I am by no means a mechanic. I drive a 2000 Ford Excursion with the 7.3 diesel. I am installing a TS 6 position switch and I am having some trouble and thought you may be able to offer some advice. I have installed and uninstalled the chip 7 times now and the truck will not start. I ha e thoroughly cleaned the terminals several times and can't get them any cleaner. I bolted the PCU back into the truck and plugged up the harness under the hood and tightened the 10 mm bolt until it won't tighten anymore. When I grab the harness I can pull it back and forth probably a good 1/2 inch if not more. I have checked and double checked all of the connections and I can't see anything wrong at all. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you in advance, this really has me worried!

+ToeFatOnline Let’s address the truck not starting with the chip on it first. What is the code on your PCM an what code is your chip burned to? Will your truck start without the chip? What you’re saying about the wiring harness to the PCM is also concerning. Is it possibly just the plastic shroud around the terminal that is moving?

@@thoroughbreddiesel got a question have a 2003 powerstroke 7.3 relay for glowplugs had quit so with an old jumper cable clamp I jumped the relay. Started the truck pulling the clamp off slipped and shorted something truck died. Won't start clicking sound now.fuel injector relay was clicking replacded it still clicking . everything else is acting wired. Now overdrive light on shifter on . probably fried PCM. You think I also have a Edge computer lights on it hadn't been on for couple days but if it was hooked up would it be fried also thank you for the help and info

I've got a DP Tuner and I'm currently having issues. I have a shift kit installed in the trans as well. If I buy your TS 6 kit and remove the DP Tuner, will the shift kit cause any issues with your TS 6 kit? I have a close to stock 1995 f250 5 speed 7.3 the only things I have is a cold air intake and a wicked wheel and straight pipe, and I was wondering if this chip is a good buy for my truck how it sits now? I just don't want anything that will burn up my clutch or Trans.

+RhinoRidener7GAME Really depends on the miles on your clutch and the way you drive the truck. As long as your no crazy driver and doing burnouts, then it would work just fine.

I have it on my 96 similar mods it runs great but honestly the stock injectors are done on the high tune after awhile so I got casserly 180cc stage 1s and now my truck is a monster it's a good chip for the price and the high idle setting is nice for winter.

Both good points. The chip itself is not going to hurt your clutch, but your driving style could. Best to think of it this way, know that you have a STOCK clutch so you will have to drive accordingly.

It is a safe chip as power adders go. Sometimes it is your right foot that makes power adders “unsafe” The chip itself will have no adverse effects on stock injectors. We do suggest exhaust and intake upgrades with the chip to make everything work together to keep the truck “happy”.

How much adjective horse power? Does this device give that 99?

The chip itself claims 140 HP but you can expect 20% less than that at the wheels, that’s if all components are in good shape, etc. Realistically, expect about 80 extra HP to the rear wheels.

I have a 1994 F350 with the DI 7.3 & ZF-5 (NOT an IDI engine). From my understanding it's the first year Powerstroke without the "Powerstroke" badge on the fender. Will this work on my truck, and more importantly, would you recommend it on a high-mileage truck (365,000 but runs very well)?

Well didn't work for me I cleaned the coating off till I starting seeing copper on both sides and everything went back together no problem but when I tried to start the truck it had the Service Engine Soon light and would crank but not turn over, took the chip back out reinstalled the pcm without it and it started right up again with no check engine light, so what do i just have to keep scraping the pcm with the brillo pad till it finally works or did I get sent the wrong chip my pcm says NVK4 and the card says NVK4 so it should work right?

Okay I know this is an old video but I'm going to try it anyway so I have this TS 6 position programmer in my truck I bought a cab from a guy down south and installed it into my truck it come with the computer the programmer the whole nine yards everything works in my truck the only problem is I don't know what stage is the switch does all I know is number 3 is lope what do I have to do to find out what else is programmed on this chip

Why does my check engine light come on when switching it to a different setting. Does fine at 50 and when you go up, the check engine light comes on and then turns off when I set it back to 50

What is the code that you get? If it is ICP above or below desired, could be something going on with your HPO system.

Just asking. On you tube Brody Olsen does a dyno on a 7.3 with a TS chip 140 horsepower position and it reads about 50 horsepower on the dyno not 140. Can you explain this? Thank you.

I bought a ts 6 position chip. The card in the box says my default code is NVK4 the code on my pcm is NVK5. Can I use it without it throwing codes or anything in my truck? My truck is a 2000 f250 crewcab 4x4 automatic transmission.

I have a 97 f250 73l and I can't find the computer anywhere near the p-brake or the clutch. I've looked under the hood and there is a box on the drivers side wheel well next to the firewall. Is this the computer box? thanks Scott

Scott Rettig On the OBS trucks, 1994-1997 the ECM can be accessed in the engine compartment and removed from there. It will be the computer harness closest to the driver’s side wheel well, once the connector is removed, the computer will pull out toward the engine bay. The wheel well will have to be loosened for full access to remove the ECM. It is different from the 1999 and up trucks as the ECM will come out from the inside of the cab on the newer trucks.

i acquired a ts6 for free.. the only information i got about it was it came out of a 7.3 super duty. my truck is a 2001 super duty. is it possible to use the chip and have it reburnt to my truck? how much does that cost? who do i contact?

Brennan Ross 4. On the OBS truck the PCM comes out from the firewall. It is located closer to the bottom of the firewall and you will have to loosen or remove the fender well to be able to pull the PCM out.

When you say 50 HP, 75 HP. 100 HP, 140 HP, on the switch, your talking about a 50 HP or a 75 HP boost to the original HP correct?

Yes, the horsepower ratings of the chip are the boost to the stock horsepower.

Hi, I have an Edge Evolution tuner for my 02 7.3. I want a TS 6 Position chip but like the screen with the EGTs, TFTs and EOTs on the edge tuner. Is there a way that i can put the Edge in stock mode and use it for the display and use the TS 6 position chip for the tunes?

I bought one for my manual 2000 F250 7.3 and it will not work the truck just keep trying to crank over but won't start I have cleaned the top and bottom of the circuit very good and still don't know what to do or how to fix.

It's MLE just figured out someone named jed on eBay scammed me he said it would work for 2000 manual but the code is for a 95-97 manual. Hey man could you please link a ts6 position chip for a 1999 or 2000 7.3 manual I'm not sure which it is but I'm sure it didn't work because it was for a 95-97 manual. Please link me one that will work I spent a lot of time trying to get that to work. Was even thinking about going with a DP tuner but if you give me the right one it should work. My truck is a 99 or 2000 7.3 powerstroke manual zf6.

I just received my chip for my 96 cclb manual, the default code is MLE1 and my pcm is ALF4, I am assuming this is the incorrect chip. Is that correct? Thank you

+ben robinson If you still need help. That’s is a good question and thank you for taking the time to look at your DPC code on your computer. ALF superceeds to MLE code, this means that the chip that we sent you has the most current tuning. You are good to go. Install and enjoy!

How hard is this on a 95 model cause the pcm is behind the e-brake assembly , I know it comes out through the outside firewall , but what about the cable , will it work behind the e-brake without pulling it ? a video for that year would be nice to see

We will be doing a OBS video soon. The PCM isn’t a problem to get out, all that is needed is to loosen the driver’s side fender well so you can remove the PCM. It’s a tight fit but just keep working with it.

Superchip is a hit and miss thing... I'd have the one you have checked out for defects (some don't actually work from the factory) I quit using them because of Quality Control issues
