One of the hidden gems of the Kruger National Park, Tsendze Rustic Camp is the only true 'rustic' camp in the Park that offers no electricity at any site, making it a sought-after destination for more adventurous campers.
We had a fantastic time at Tsendze. Finding the little resident Scops Owl and Pearl-spotted Owlet was very rewarding. Lots of creepy-crawlies around the camp day and night, and the bird life was excellent.
Our site (no. 31) was on the southern side of the camp which has less shade (sites are per-allocated, based on what is available and your request), and we had a few very hot days (over 42 deg C) that saw us retreating to the a/c in the car for extended game drives.
Everything worked well for our 'off-grid' camping. The Victron/Blue Nova electrical system recharged within a few hours each day from the FlexoPower solar panels to keep the fridge going and powering lights at night, and the Hansen gas geyser was quick to heat water for washing and showering.
Rusty was a real pleasure to camp with at Tsendze but it was sad to see no other Kavango caravans at Kruger during our trip. Bush Lapa by far the most popular brand we saw in the Park.
