Benn Mathurin has gone from Montreal North to the NBA. His sister helped pave the way and now he's living out a childhood dream for his brother. Here is the TSN Original 'For All of Us'.
I'm so happy that his sister was a huge part of this video, because if not for her there's a great chance he wouldn't be where he is today. Sometimes we overlook the impact an older sister has on her younger siblings especially in a family that is struggling. So much respect to her for helping her mom early on, but also pursuing her goals and doing what she can when not even at home to make sure her brother stays on the correct path. She deserves all the best.
Being from Montreal we needed guys like Chris Boucher, Lu dort and Ben Mathurin to show the city it’s possible to make it to the highest levels because nobody ever did it before. Salute
@@AAAAAA79473 trust me I would love to have an NBA team in MTL too but the facts are most American players aren’t fans of the cold/culture shift. Why you think the vancouver grizzlies moved to memphis? On top of that Quebec’s media is french so the players are gonna feel like they’re overseas more than the NBA
@@stardemonspacecat lf you were to tell me 25 to 30 years ago about the number of canadians and pretty good ones playing in the NBA now, I would think you were crazy. I compare this to the USA winning hockey gold at the 1980 olympics and then hockey popularity skyrocketing. The U.S. has the second most NHL players behind Canada and Canada now has the second most players in NBA behind U.S. I thank this to the Raptors coming into existence and Vince Carter really peaked interest. And yes I do know of some youngsters coming up that look like future NBAers.
The only limits in this life are the one are setting yourself. It's only the start of a long journey for this young fella. He will be special. Watch in 20 years the number of young Quebecers making it to the NBA because Bennedict showed them it was possible.
As a lifelong Arizona Wildcat basketball fan, I have to say he is one of the most all-around athletic players I’ve ever seen, and his will to succeed is nearly unmatched. It was hard to see him leave, but he made the right decision, and it’s so great to see him doing so well as a rookie in the NBA. It’s also great to see him playing alongside TJ McConnell, who is another one of my favorite former Arizona Wildcats.
@@DetroitTyler ya sharpes amazing. Think about this he didn’t even go to college and still went 7 not many players could do that. He reminds me of a smaller but more athletic Paul George.
