After the Browns suffered one of the most heart-breaking losses in recent memory, count down the best 'Cleveland Browns fails' in the SportsCentre Top 10.
Why don't they say the reason why Bottlegate even happened? It wasn't because the play was reviewed and ruled incomplete, it was because the Browns ran another play after that. NFL rules and regulations state that a play CANNOT be challenged after another play has been ran.
The challenge was called in from the head office before the play was run. So your point is moot. Your misunderstanding of the rules stands as the reason the game was called, as the game was unsafe to play.
Mostlyharmless1985 your misunderstanding of everything makes me think you are a nfl online shill. the reason the bottles were being thrown was because the refs fucked up big. had they made the proper call to begin with everything wouldve been fine. the refs broke the rules and you know it.
I don't mind being a Browns fan. Patriots fans win 12 straight and give a casual golf clap. For us, every single victory is like a Superbowl win. We even celebrate preseason wins.
How does Jamal Lewis telling the press that he's going to break the NFL single-game rushing record against the Browns, and then DOING IT, not make this list?
that's a fail vs the Browns not times the Browns found a heartbreaking way to lose, or produced a dreadful play. So it wouldn't be a fail by the Browns it be a fail vs the Browns which is a utterely different thing all together.
Troldust It's not like Lewis said it during halftime of the game, he made the statement several days prior to kickoff. When an opponent calls you out like that, to that degree, and you still can't prevent it happening...
Harv72b But again thats vs the Browns this is a list of the times the Browns blew it losing a game they should have won including a blocked fg returned for a td by the Ravens. What your talking about is a completely different thing altogether.

The one thing that was not mentioned in that last part with the bottles being thrown, was that the refs reviewed a play and overturned it after another play had already been run on the field. That's why the fans went ape shit.
For the last one I feel really bad for Browns fans because the refs totally screwed them over because they reviewed a play after they snapped the ball and a new play had started.
MadNES yea..I can't wait until the browns slowly start to become a playoff ccontender. but hey at least Cleveland has the Cavs and the Indians for now.
The real shame of it is that this countdown barely scratches the surface. They could make a Top 100 Browns Fail countdown out of the last two seasons....
Ima raiders fan but the browns will come back and be good again all Nfl teams have there Seasons when there bad and good just look at my team how there rebuilding all the browns need to do is find the right QB and build around him
Thank you Browns for being the basement dwellers/redheaded stepchild of our division, as a Bengals fan, its makes us feel like the Patriots when we play you and suddenly we don't look so bad. Whenever we need a win, you always give that to us, so here is a heartfelt thank you.
#1 wasn't a controversial review it's the fact that after the catch the browns ran a play and there shouldn't have been a review in the first place even though the refs tried to cover their asses by claiming a review was already in process
Excellent compilation. The catch by the Bears player was possibly the most difficult catch ever to end regulation. They got a bit lucky, but that was a freakishly athletic play.
What many people don't remember, unfortunately, at 3:27, is that Ernest Byner worked his ass off in this game!!! The loss was the failure of Marty Shottenhiemer as a head coach. He'd take his best playmakers and work them to death in a game. He failed to take Cleveland to the SB because of that, and he failed to take San Diego to the SB because of that . He worked the shit out of Ladanian Tomlinson in San Diego; and he did the same with Byner in Cleveland.
+Diet Water The Browns are lucky that they have such loyal fans. Most NFL teams would be playing in empty stadiums if they had the same W-L records as the Browns have had the past 19 years.
I'm not a Browns fan, but #1, "Bottlegate" always manages to piss me off... I've never empathized with an angry, bottle-throwing mob any other time except that. I think what's most baffling is that that refereeing crew got to work the goddamn Super Bowl that year after bungling that game.
Fail #1. Allowing Art Modell to buy the team. He's the reason Paul Brown was fired and is the catalyst for everything you see about the Browns ineptness.
That Rudd play meant nothing. That was the only year the new browns made the playoffs, and losing that game didn't even change their seeding. Of course no one could have known that at the time.
makes you appreciate your team more doesn't it? I salute you Browns fans. you guys are tough. At least you have the Cavs win now and the Indians in the WS. Good Luck!!
The Bears loss was the worst. We had the game and the Bears got a bit lucky. I was there. They got toasted on an onside kick, then a Hail Mary. Then lost quickly in ot. What a bummer, yet I am still a fan of the Browns.
It's not so Manziel, once again, the media screw a lot of this crap up...mainly...you find a QB out of the 3 decent that we have, Manziel. McCown, or Davis. I mean, I would pick Manziel as a starter, he has so much potential yet no one respects him for what he's done for the team. McCown did well, he's just injury prone. Davis? He's alright, but he's a franchise backup, not starter.
the problem is that Manziel doesn't have a major role model at qb to teach him, he is a good qb but really was thrown into a mess. If you take aaron Rodgers for example, he didn't get put as the #1 qb on the team in his first year he sat back learned from Favre and when it was his time he was the starter.
+krem1able How often does something like that happen really? Cleveland's been trying to get a winning QB since Kosar. Hoyer was a Cleveland native and Browns should of played Manziel early last year (2014-2015) to get his feet wet instead of having this big fan hype breathing down Hoyer's back. Instead they played him later when the team was overcoming injuries. We actually beat Pittsburgh that year too, and almost in that first game after a sour start. A good QB doesn't look for a role model, they become one on their own. Favre was fighting to stay in the NFL as well with the Vikings and Jets, so I think Aaron had to wrestle that QB role from him
As a browns fan, let me explain the bottle incident. The browns had run another play after that, but as they were setting up for their second play after that catch, the refs went back and reviewed it (which you can’t do) and that’s why people lost their mind
Where was "The Mistake by the Lake?" Seconds remaining in the 1980 AFC Divisional Playoff game between the Browns and the Oakland Raiders; Cleveland down by two. In just shy of a minute, the Browns march down to the Oakland 14. Although well within field goal range, Coach Sam Ratiggliano calls a pass play. Brian Sipe throws a duck that is intercepted in the end zone. Oakland would go on to win the Super Bowl.
There's another video out there on the subject of "Classic Cleveland Browns Highlights." While I applaud the inclusion of my old classmate Eric Metcalf, the creator of the video had apparently never heard of Paul Brown, Otto Graham (most unforgivably) Jim Brown. The video's half an hour long. There's easily 3 times that long of highlights of Jim Brown. HOW can anyone feature ANYTHING about Browns' history without Jim (Freaking) Brown???
Went by the R&R Hall of Fame a few years ago across from Browns Stadium. I looked up and saw the banner that read "Browns Season Tickets Starting at $99 ". I contemplated buying them even though I lived in NJ Maybe I could make just a couple of games that would be worth it. $99 for a whole season !!
There was a Browns vs Falcons game a few years ago where the Browns were up (yes, AHEAD) by 3 full touchdowns in the last five minutes of the game. The Falcons came back and won it all. THAT was the biggest fail.
Minecraft Fan273 ...no, no they did not. The Falcons won that game. I distinctly remember being in an ESPN bar while deployed to Qatar, sitting with a Falcons fan, who repeatedly kept apologizing over and over after they beat us. It was a terrible night.
Mr. Raphael, the Browns didn't fire Bill Belichick. He was still the coach when the team moved to Baltimore, he was fired by the Ravens so they could bring in Ted Marchibroda hoping it would connect the team to the fans.
As a Browns fan, it shows one main thing....This is the most undisciplined team of all times. If you ever want the ball back try an onside kick, Brown's have no idea what to do. I see them give the ball back to the other team every time.
10 Browns fails is like the equivalent of a video showing how Billionaires spend 100 dollars. Its just a tease. You know you could EASILY make a top 100 Browns fails.
