Anyone have anti-reverse issues? I just had a really bad day with reel today. Reeling in a fish and the handle slipped back. Didn’t think anything of it. Caught another slipped again. Made another cast wind knots everywhere. It wasn’t windy today.

Thanks for your videos super helpful! I just ordered the 5000 from you and received it today beautifully spooled. That option to add line makes your website my new go to for reels. Thanks again.

OK I got my shield 5000. Used it 10 times. Already the handle seems like it's got some play in it from the eva knob, and from the screw in at the side plate. The eva handle piece missing like a punched out part I noticed after a few uses. Like the part it was molded from came out. Very small but still noticeable. I used it the other day and there is Def getting play in the handle. The drag is smooth and strong, and it's a great size and awesome looking reel, and the 30 lbs of drag sounds impressive, but I would definitely reccommend a daiwa BG 5000 over this reel for $120. They are smoother and absolutely solid as a rock. There will not be any play whatsoever on a bg I can guarantee it.

Daiwa bg 5000 or tsunsmi 5000? Tough call for me. Both built well but i have no experience with tsunami? Have 7 bg's ... no complaints. What's your pick? Im buying what you recommend!

Without question go for the daiwa BG5000. My shield 5000 already has loose handle syndrome. Only used a few times

Before heading to the beach, soak your reel in a water repellent liquid.

Hi what size Shield reel would you recommend for red fishing in the lagoons? I am wondering if there is a big difference between the 3000 and 4000.
@fishhunter3346
@fishhunter3346 5 лет назад
It's generally a small difference in weight of the reel, line capacity, and maximum amount of drag between a 3000 and a 4000. Most 3000 size reels can handle reds and still be a lot of fun. A 4000 will absolutely handle big bull redfish. I cannot seem to find a link to specifications for Tsunami, but I was at a tackle shop today and the specs are printed on the boxes of the Tsunami reels.

Either will work. If you have a tsunami you can go with a Shield 4000.

Wind knots, wind knots and more wind knots. These reels are junk. Stick with Shimanos and Daiwas.
@jandhtackle
@jandhtackle 5 лет назад
Try using a heavier braid and don't overfill your reel.
@Suk830.0
@Suk830.0 5 лет назад
@@jandhtackle I like to fill my spools relatively high. With Shimanos, even when overfill it with light braid, zero wind knots. With Tsunami Shields, even when underspooled, wind knots a problem. Junk!

@s.k. The problem is actually with the antireverse . I sent mine into 4 reel services in boyton beach Florida. It was repaired free of charge through tsunami. So I noticed when I was reeling in, the handle slipped backwards as the rotor was moving forward and thus I just saw the line just get jammed up.
