Dave and Jess Take their first look at The Isle of Man TT Top SPEED MOMENTS. Watch us react to this crazy race! @daveandjessdivorced / daveandjessdivorced Instagram: @daveandjessdivorced Enjoy! David and Jess- Divorced
Just cause you guys have been sheltered doesn’t mean the spectators that want to experience something are dumb for standing on the side of the road. Mocking them for being excited about the experience just means you need to live a little more.
Lmao! Sheltered!? Apparently you've never been mugged at gunpoint in Memphis. Or had a knife pulled on you in Nashville. I'm going to that race because looks excitingand its safer than the U S. Come down to Memphis as see if you make it a day without getting shot or killed. Now that is a Risk my friend. Your funny.
Cheese rolling is only the beginning. Try shin kicking, flaming tar barrel carrying, bog snorkeling, nettle eating, the Atherton Ball Game... and so much more
Did you mention black pudding throwing🏍️💨💨💨😸🍻👍p.s. people tend to listen to the radio commentary from the guy sitting in the grandstand (opposite the cemetery) 🏍️💨💨💨😸🍻👍
The first race was in 1907. The first year of the IOM TT mountain course was 1911. An average of 2 people have died each year since its inception. The complete lap in the TT is 37.7 miles.
It's honesty amazing more people haven't been killed honesty. I don't know what kind of animals are, indigenous to that area but imagine a squirrel or a bird flew into one of the riders. God forbid a dog or a cat.
@@daveandjessdivorcedA few years ago, an emergency helicopter was taking a badly injured rider (Robert Dunlop) to hospital, when it frightened a horse which jumped a wall onto the course. Tragically the horse was hit by another racer who was killed.
@neilanyon4792 WTF!!!!? Holy S#%t!! We'res the dude who said they take safety seriously? A friggin horse was roaming around during that race? Not in a barn or tied to something. Jezz. At those speeds the guy didn't know what happened, he just woke up in the next life. Damn. You know they can't do this stuff in the US, too many animals, turkey's, cats, dogs, deer, coyotes. You name it. Somethings always wondering on interstates and getting hit by something. Mostly deer and armadillos lately.
@@daveandjessdivorced who ever go,s there will accept and own that accidents can/will happen the same policy will apply on rally championships! That make it different plus imagine that is no prize for the riders!! Someone said: maybe the only SPORT/EVENT that wasn't touched and corrupt by MONEY!
@AndyCaley I was happy with the practice lap but the only other I know of is the world record lap time. The practice lap I think is best for am idea before you throw someone into a real on board
@@daveandjessdivorced yes please, i've been waiting for more people to react to that video. Its crazy how low the amount of people reacting to that video is. Peter Hickman's chin cam of the isle of man tt 😊
Very very few spectators killed at the TT, since 1907 there have been two fatal crashes involving three spectators, one in 1939, and two in 2007. Anybody who tells you that dozens or hundreds of people are killed watching the TT don't know what they're talking about. Yes many people die, but not watching the races, they die riding their own bikes round the circuit when it's open to the public. You recognised the Moto GP clips where the spectators are kept far from the track, and not allowed in the paddock without a special pass, at the TT you're not only free to sit at the side of the track, you're also free to wander round the paddock and talk to the riders. The TT is only one of a road racing series that take place in Northern and Southern Ireland, the Isle of Man and England. All but the TT are massed starts, where you see the riders bunched together. At the TT they're started one at a time at 10sec intervals, and they're racing against the clock.
Yea, I've seen Moto GP, but nothing like this. We will do more dives into this race. Nothing like this exists in the US that I'm aware of, so it's cool to see and learn about this.
And an additional couple of "bystanders" which are evidently not spectators but are also not involved in the race? Not sure what the definition is though.
@DS-uy6jw bystander is someone who happened to be there but was not involved with the event as a spectator. I guess, like if I walked upon a parade that I didn't know was going on? Who the hell knows. Everyone defines things differently now a days, and people LOVE to jump in when you foul up.
I've been to the Isle of man TT a few times, and it's 2 weeks of pure awesomeness, yes it is extremely dangerous, and all the racers and spectators know the risks. You two are what we call, (the cotton wool people) = Frightened of anything even slightly risky, let alone dangerous. 🤣 🤣.
If your going down the Rabbit hole of Cheese rolling, - you also need to watch the Flaming Tar barrels of Ottery St Mary! - another level of UK (glorious) Insanity!!
Oh yes awesome!!! We are going to do Cheese Rolling, because we'll hilarious sounding. Now Flaming Tar Barrels sounding awesome! You guys are insane! Lol
@@daveandjessdivorced Cheese rolling is mental, and you have to be mental to partake in it ( it's a requirement ). Lol 😂 Every year participants get broken bones on most parts of their bodies.!! There's a large ambulance presence at the Cheese rolling event.!!
Hi guys from windy North Wales (not far from the isle of man). Don't you have anything like the TT in the US? If not do you think someone might start one, the Buffalo TT or the Dallas TT 😊
Not that I'm aware of. On the open roads like that through a town? Too much viability. Perhaps like to sue over everything in the US. If the did have something like this it would be in the South US. I've never saw anything like this. 👍
Great reaction. Dave, you said about the grey blur. It was Joey Dunlop who made that quote, his long gone ( RIP ). His now riding the great track up in the sky. He died on his bike.!! Someone has already mentioned the Peter Hickman video. This video will put you both in the saddle on Peters BMW RR . Filmed by a gopro attached to the chin of Peters helmet. Avg lap speed 136.+ mph.!!! And you'll think its speeded up, but its not what see is real time speeds. You'll also see the front wheel riding up a lot , at first you will think your imaging it. Looks like a hard bike to ride. You asked a question about how long it takes to learn the coures. I have that answer for you both. If you're already a competent rider, it'll take you 3 year's to learn the 200 plus corners and bumps and humps on the course. And another 5 years to full master it, so 8 years in total and you can ride the course at Peter's speeds.!!! Theres a very good video of Mark Higgins driving a Prodrive 555 Subaru STI race spec rally car 4x4. Filmed in 2016 Mark pulls off an all time lap record, even quicker than the bikes.!! The reason being that Mark could carry more corner speeds being 4 wheels and 4x4 faster into the corners, through them and out of them. Not as fast in the straight line speeds, but as i said theres 200 corners to make time up in. This run incredibly wasn't as fast as he could go.!! He says in the video that there was more time to be had if conditions were more favourable.!! Filmed again with a gopro positioned just behind the driver ( left hand drive position ) and central to the car. Edited with some smart graphics on the screen, stuff like speed, rpm, gears, g force, heart rate, course map and elevation. Etc. Theres plenty of footage on the TT to dive into. I leave you with one last fact. The TT started in 1906.!! Its the world's oldest and longest running motor sports event. To date theres be tragically 256 deaths, quite a few of these were from the earlier days. However its a regular thing. I think theres only been 2 years where no lives were lost.!! Last years event saw 7 people die, 3 rider's and 4 spectators.!! Yes you said it in the reaction, it really happens thats the reality of the TT.!! Oh its held in the last week of May and first week of June, just in case you fancy booking a trip to the island. I'm thinking of going this year for my first taste of it for real.!!! Great reaction and hope to see you both do more TT. Ps. I'm subbing because i want to watch your cheese rolling reaction.!! Lol should be a blast.!!😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Thank you very much for the info and subbing! I was just thinking this morning: What if a dog walked on the road as one of those cycles was going by. Yikes. We'll will definitely take a look at more of these. It's fascinating. Now the Cheese Rolling someone suggested, and we were like WTF is cheese rolling, so we will be doing that one and some if the other crazy sports and activities you maniacs do in Europe. Thanks for commenting! DJD
@@daveandjessdivorced Great reaction! When people write about dead spectators at the TT, they are referring to the dead at "crazy Sunday", where all spectators are allowed to race on the track with their private motorcycles without any speed limits. Amazingly, only 2 spectators (in the same accident) who were standing on the side of the track watching a race were actually killed in over 100 years.
@Holilo7 Dude, are you serious? They just let any fool race on that track? So, don't go on Sunday is the lesson learned here. Haha. Thank you for watching our video. There's so much out there, so we appreciate you dropping in with us.
@@daveandjessdivorced Unfortunately, I don't know how many of the racing spectators crashed into spectators, but in the real races, as far as I know, there were only 2 dead spectators in a single accident. Actually amazing given the clips shown. The sidecars on the TT are even crazier. Irish road racing with its mass starts and elbow-to-elbow battles on similar roads at 200 mph, is also a bit crazier.
Don't react to football or any other boring sports. Real sport is the Isle of man tt and Irish road racing in general. Some of these guys literally die for nothing but reputation and passion winning these races brings 💪 then u get footballers who get paid literally millions for diving to the ground and crying for minutes to get a free kick of a ball 🤣 WRC (rallying is worth checking out too) if cars are more your thing Real sports like these are where the men compete 💪 Nice reaction guys 👍 new subscriber from the UK 💙🇬🇧
Chill, you guys, you're being WAY too dramatic about the safety aspect! If it wasn't safe for the spectators to be standing by the road, the organisation would've blocked the access to those areas. Just relax and enjoy the speed, for goodness sake!
I don't think they have the funds or the desire to block anything. That's the appeal of the race, to be Courtside. If they didn't have fans so close to the road, nobody would be watching that race. That's part of the appeal. Like someone said the prize is only 20,000 euros. Their not spending money on safety, bro. That is an enter at your own risk event.
@@daveandjessdivorced - You're wrong, they have and they take safety very seriously. Just because the winner's prize is low doesn't mean the organisation is underfunded. Remember, it's a week of practices and a week of racing, it's not cheap to organise.
Um no people are killed every year. Riders and spectators alike!! There is a RU-vid channel that shows the isle of Man Races. They give statistics for how many have died.
Look up, 'Worst Isle Of Man TT Crashes Caught On Camera Compilation' uploaded last year. Or specifically look up Connor Cummins Isle Of Man TT 2010'. He gets thrown off the bike and his body ragdolls down the hill and over a dry stone wall before eventually coming to rest. He sustained injuries to his back, a fractured arm, dislocated knee and bruising to his lungs.
@@keefsmiff just insane is what it is 😂 just imagine how much effort it will take to keep front end down 🤯 taking turns at over 170 is crazy as well. Skill and concentration level is immense.
Great reaction. With the talking thing, I think people only get upset when they're waiting for a particular joke/bit of dialogue and someone talks over it and misses it. Stuff like this you can talk all the way through! Deaths - there's only 4 bystanders/spectators who have ever died, quite a few marshals (like the one you asked if he wanted to cross the road) and LOTS of rider deaths: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Isle_of_Man_TT_Mountain_Course_fatalities
Oh wow, that dude died? I'm not surprised really. Probably worked for a security company that assigned him to that event. Could you imagine? You're right about people wanting us to hear a particular part that is there favorite. We are seeing this for the first time. These are all, first time watches and reactions, so when you see it, it's hard to be quiet. I understand though.
Oh, we're not done with this race by no means. This video was a suggestion and we wanted to get a feel for the race by just watching people's footage from when they were there.
@@daveandjessdivorced Thats good. The isle of man is the irish sea half way to ireland, there is a small airfield but access its a ferry from liverpool its a tax haven its semi indepandant from the uk its a bit complicated.
Truthfully the( TT IS BORING ). The only reason imo too visit the island during the TT fortnight is the sidecar racing. I prefer PROPER ROAD RACING. Either any track in Ireland or the southern 100 on the IOM... ✌🇮🇪
Dude. Forget about the people. This race has no flat land. It means once crash and your body is in peaces. 5 drivers die every year. That's around 3 per race. In a simple way.
hehehe, only thing i would say about the 2 of u, is that u are scared of people crashing, people standing too close, and thinking this is crazy, when that's the very reason they do it, coz it's crazy, scary, and HELL OF A RUSH... a speed trap is basically what cops use to messure your speed, as they set up somewhere to messure your speed and give u a ticket, tho the speed traps for motorsports are A LOT MORE precise... only 3 spectators have died from a bike crashing into them, but that's it, the other "private" people dying, is when they open the track to ALL people, not just the TT riders, and they dont know the limit of their bike and skills, so they crash and die...
@@daveandjessdivorced the people living by the road used for the race, are renting out their house for what i would call a HIGH PRICE, as a house where 10 people can stay, by a good spot on the road, one of the bigger ones, goes for 5000$ for the 2 weeks the race goes on, and there's 45000+ people coming there, from racers, their team, and spectators, so it can be hard to get a good place to stay...
@@daveandjessdivorced ye, and there's only 7 days of race too, as the other 7 days are for practice... so u cant really go anywhere, and half of the days it's just practice, where they dont go all out... now that 5000$ seems like a lot more... u have to get there, stay there, pay for the rent, buy the food, and get home, for just this ONE thing...
