Tried a North Flag on leather at my AD after your review. Have never been tempted before, I always had a nagging doubt about its design but after trying it on I can say it looks a lot better on the wrist than off. Could well be my next purchase.
I was looking at an Explorer 1 for a few years then I saw the North Flag at a local AD. I purchased it on the spot with a small discount which was awesome of him. Its everything I love about the explorer but even more with the touch of yellow and the power reverve of 70 hours. It's not my only watch but it's my most expensive and my favorite. For me, it's the perfect blend of explorer watch, sports watch, and tool watch.
Bought this watch about a month ago and could not be happier! Very unique and exciting to have on the the wrist. Great down to earth vid Rob, keep it up.
First of all I agree with everything you said. I just want to add that it is a certified chronometer and the movement is Tudor's in- house. As good as Rolex for much less money. I bought mine 1 year ago, almost new from a dealer for $2800. I would buy it again for sure. I have not spotted it on anybodys wrist yet. (I live in Israel).
I have an omega seamaster, a Chopard Mille miglia chrono, and a JLC master geographic among other more affordable watches, but the Tudor north flag is still my favorite piece! I absolutely love it and will probably never sell it.
That thing is cool. The dial is well balanced even tough its not technically symmetrical. The strong contrast between dial and markers really announce the time. The yellow accents are not over done and really pop out against the black. Chronometer movement 70 hrs. That thing is a beast
I was saving for the pelagos but, I've really fallen for this. Im getting on too (51) and a diver makes me wonder if I'd look silly wearing it. Like the guy said, these are not seen that much. I like that. I mean when i go on holiday I immediately start looking at what the guys around are wearing. Divers ( good and bad ) all around. This is different. People will look and scratch their heads. I like that. Bit if a diver bit of a dress bit utility ticks a lot of boxes. Great teview
Bought this watch around 2 months ago. Loved the look of it on display but took a few “wears” to warm up to it on my wrist. I also have a Black Bay Heritage diver and a Speedy reduced circa 1999, so I’ve got 3 great fun watches but I feel like the North Flag is the most comfortable, of the 3 and kind of disappears on my wrist until inevitably someone catches a glimpse of the dial and makes a comment - usually about the cool look of the watch. I think this watch will be a classic as it’s just polarizing enough that I don’t see Tudor continuing with or expanding on this watch for the long term. First Tudor in house movement, limited mass appeal, unique design could add up to future classic. It’s a classic for me anyway.
I have had my NF for 4 mnd. now, and I am sooooooooooo happy! The movement is incredible, never more than +/- 1 sec. per day and just 10 sec fast after 4 mnd.! I just love my new timepiece, worth every penny. I also like that it is going under the radar, no one have noticed that I have a new watch.
I agree....and that backcase, i really love that part of the watch. .....i was in Greenland for 6.years, and the history they blended in about that, its just.........superb. it sad it dont get more attention really!.
This one has always been one of my favorites. The color combinations look so good on that black dial. It's clean and legible which is what I prefer on my watches. Nice review as always Rob.
👍’s Rob. I’ve always really liked the overall design of this watch and the pop of yellow against black 🤩 I’ve spent the last week contacting dozens of 🇬🇧 AD’s hoping to find a ‘new old stock’ gathering dust. Eventually found one and immediately pulled the trigger. An unexpected bonus was a 15% discount from the AD owner when he took it out of the safe and noticed the tiniest of marks on the bezel - my lucky day 🎲 🎲
Great video, Love the Rolex Explorer but this watch has a look all it's own! Some serious time to think if the Rolex is that much better than the North Flag! Gonna watch the video one more time,,
Picked the last display unit up from my local jeweller they told me its being discontinued and the fact they’re getting thrown up for a discount from new around the place would seem to agree
Just bought one that was NOS, probably paid about £3/400 more than I should have but there are not many around and it was in mint condition...it's quite heavy.
The only thing that could improve it would be a slightly domed crystal. The flat profile takes a bit of getting used to as all my others have this. It’s a lovely watch though.
these are awesome . they were on my radar when they were released but now that they are out in the wild in the second hand market definitely will be on the look out for one. I sold my Rolexes and I have a Tudor BB36 now but can see myself getting a NF and Black Bay Black or Pelagos in the future.
I own the leather strap version and keep my NF on a Pelagos black rubber strap (Year around). I'm in a similar situation where I am deciding between the BB and the Pelagos. I really like the BB Steel. Good luck with your hunt.
Justin K H Leung mate I'm in melbourne. Was that less GST or all up? Amazing deal. Grateful if you could share AD details so I can try for similar deal.
I've never been drawn to the north flag, but, your vid makes it more appealing. i'm not sure about that ceramic ring around the middle though ............ looks a bit cheap
I agree, and it would have made it thinner. Would be awesome if they have a steel one (from another model) that fits it. Your AD could order the part and you'd have a more functional watch. Tudors tend to be on the thick size as it is. I'd even consider a manual wind if it fits under jackets and sleeves (and in engines) closer to my old gmt master....
Isn't the one and only modern Tudor with exhibition caseback? I think it's just because it was the first watch with Tudor in-house movement, so they wanted to show it.
It's a very nice piece. But that price man....that's an insult to the customer. I had this piece on my radar since it was first introduced and now a pre-owned piece can be purchased for half the price.
$3675. is pretty affordable and you would wear it while you fix a lawn mower. Damn, I'm watching the wrong channel because neither statements are remotely true for me.
