Tulips, a side quest 

My mom passed at age 93 and loved tulips. She did exactly what you are doing. I own the homeplace now and am reminded of mom every spring before the grass grows tall enough to mow.

Samantha, you should look at getting some Bluebell bulbs and plant them throughout the trees. Our woodlands in England are covered in them. Hopefully the ones you plant will spread over time. It looks glorious! I am sure you would love them.

In Holland we plant crocus en daffodils in grass and all the other bulbs in flowerbeds.😊

What a beautiful idea to follow through with. And that one surviving tulip had such a rich dark vivant color to set off the whole lawn. Well you could add bulbs each year. Your yard will become a special meadow for your family to think about their creative child, cheers.

I never really bothered planting anything around my house until I bought a tray of mixed perennials last year from the garden centre on clearance and put the in the ground way too late in the year, it's pretty cool seeing them sprouting back up already. I didn't get any tulips, I'll have to try those next!

I've got a bulb auger, first time I used it my neighbours thought I'd been drinking. Somebody drilling holes in the lawn is not something you see every day.

I love to plant spring flower bulbs!! I have tulips, daffodils, crocus, hyacinths (my fave) and Spanish bluebells!! Do some research online and you will find out which bulbs deer, bunnies, squirrels etc are not interested in to eat. Enjoy!! I plnt a few extra every fall bcuz I always lose a few. May 6th 2024 Planting flowers looks great and are good for the bees as well. That being said Planting vegetables like corn and tomatoes and lettuce are a better option.. Great Video

I have trouble just getting grass seed to germinate. My first 5 pound bag of seeds not one blade of grass. I just reseeded with Pennington brand and waiting. I do have great luck with potted amaryllis.

Really Cool Vid Sam. keep them a coming. how old is your dog? I used to have a lab/Doberman he was all black he really like to swim and jump high he was good at Frisbee and diving under water for golf balls. which use to worry me because he would stay under till, he got it, he got up to about 18 years old. got sick and passed. I miss him. his name was (Chopper) , you take care Sam.
