We did a lot of research about how to travel Tulum cheap before heading down to Tulum and we are VERY happy we did. We spent the first week of our trip up in Tulum town, which is undoubtedly the cheap part of Tulum (as compared to Tulum Beach). Next week we travel down to Tulum Beach to see if it's possible to experience on the cheap (spoiler: it is! .... but it's a bit of a challenge).
