48 hrs in TULUM - Your Guide To Tropical Paradise!
Cancun vs Tulum - the ultimate battle between the two touristy towns of Quintana Roo that left me in a confusion about which city should I visit in the Yucatan Peninsula. So welcome to a brand new Tulum, Mexico travel vlog where I am going to share the Tulum travel guide that you are missing out on.
I took an ADO bus to Tulum and getting from Cancun to Tulum is super easy. You can get a taxi, a shared shuttle or an ADO bus which is the cheapest. ADO bus run from Cancun airport to Tulum as well. I went on a budget trip to Tulum and spent 2 days in Mexico's tropical paradise all alone. This solo trip to Mexico was the ultimate experience as I got to do so much more than I had expected.
If you are thinking if even Tulum is worth it? Then there are lots of things to do in Tulum town as well as in Tulum hotel zone. From Mexican cenotes to Tulum beaches to extravagant beachclubs, Tulum has it all. If you want to party in Tulum, its nightlife has its own vibe. If you want to shop, Tulum downtown has lots of shops with souvenirs and clothes which are budget friendly as well as luxurious.
Tulum vibes are different - consider a tropical jungle with lots of luxury. There are beachfront resorts like Azulik to hostels like Selina. I stayed at Selina Tulum downtown and it was THE BEST DECISION EVER!

Now if you ask whether you should go to Cancun or Tulum, then you have to watch my previous video and make the comparison between Cancun vs. Tulum yourself. Both have different vibes and I am sure one will steal your heart. There are lots of places you can go to from Tulum including Cancun, Coba, Playa Del Carmen, Isla Holbox, Los Cabos, and Cozumel. So you choose which place in Yucatan Peninsula you should spend your next holiday at!

I think it's good that you visited when you did. Tulum has gotten really bad. And not just because of the cartel violence, but the whole place has become a tourist trap. When I visited a few months ago, they didn't allow you to bring plastic water bottles into the ruins, and it was really hot. We were rushed through in under an hour, and now I read they are putting even more restrictions and won't be allowing you to bring water at all. I also refuse to pay to use a beach. Even Mexicans hate this place and don't recommend it anymore. And just today I read some man got paralyzed from a wave and he was refused medical treatment until his boyfriend paid multiple bribes, and when he finally got back to the States, American doctors had to fix the shitty job the Mexicans did on him, and in addition he'd also contracted meningitis, because the Mexicans didn't wear gloves or practice proper sanitation measures. A lot of people have also been getting sick from the cenotes around there. Tulum is honestly not a nice place. I recommend people to stay in Progresso.
