Dr. Usman Ahmad, thoracic surgeon discusses thymic tumors which often presents as symptoms of myasthenia gravis. Surgical treatment involves removal of the thymic tumors and/or the thymus gland (thymectomy). Two other less common conditions also benefit from removal of the thymus gland: red cell aplasia and hypogammaglobinemia.

I have MG without antibodies. Diplopia, ptosis, and awful muscle fatigue. My doctor will not give me a scan of my thymus.

@@zack.dar40 no i still have my family doctor. But once referred to the hosp my çonsultant àrranged all my scans.

Does Thymectomy cause chest pain? My mother is a Mysthania Gravis patient. Sometimes, She suffers from serious chespain for one hours about. What can we do that time?

Thymectomy is the procedure where the thymus gland is removed. Did your mother undergo surgery or is she just feeling the pain in her chest without any surgery? I had a thymoma & myasthenia gravis, had my thymus removed, but had no pain before the surgery.

I have gMG and have serious chest pain quite frequently, which has been determined to be non cardiac related. It is a severe pain that last for 2-5 minutes and comes in waves which can last for hours. I’m hopeful that I qualify for removal of the thymus gland and the painful episodes stop!

On dec 9, 2019 Dr, Usman Ahmad saved my life and removed my esophagus along with the tumor that was in it. On almost 3 yrs later Im still here. Thank You Dr Ahmad
