I am always saying WE GOT THIS in real life and online. We all have our own struggles and I believe we can get through anything together. When I was diagnosed with cancer in September, I thought this was my own struggle but I realised my cancer has affected everyone around me. I am a daughter, a girlfriend, a sister, a friend, a cousin, a grand daughter & more. I know my journey has affected everyone around me and I know now more than ever that I have no choice but to get better. Whatever life throws at us, we are going to get through it together. We Got This

hi my loving tiffanythinks family. I am so sorry for not updating straight away, I got results on Friday 4th and I just need some time to process everything. I have been so anxious & scared. I really don’t know what to say. I guess I just had a bit of hope in August that I wouldn’t need surgery but the scans have all come back different to the last time. PLEASE remember to live your life, be kind and do things that make YOU happy. I love you lots my tiffanythinks family. we got this💙

Tiff, I was 20 years old when I got diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the small bowel. I went in for an exploratory surgery and woke up with an ileostomy and a pretty big bowel resection. I had chemo and radiation as well. My team had the same misgivings about performing an ileostomy on a 20 year old girl. However, cancer had wrecked havoc on my family and other family members previously and we all agreed we wanted to have the surgery ASAP. I am 44 now, I am married, and was able to have 2 girls. I became a nurse after my cancer because I want to bring awareness about prevention and early intervention. Everything has a solution if you act quickly. Please do not wait. Do not be afraid of LIFE… in any way GOD gives it to you!!! WE GOT THIS!!! NOW!!!

I had my stomach removed due to gastric cancer just over 2 years ago. Yes - life after surgery is different. Cancer is not a bump on the road, it is truly a fork and things are never as they were before the surgery. I had to grieve the person I was before, before I could begin to rebuild and celebrate the person I am now. I am of course, profoundly grateful to be alive, but there is no understating the difficulties. It would dishonor the journey to minimize how very difficult it all was. Today, I am healthier than before the cancer. I am going to the gym and rebuilding my strength. I am stronger in so many ways than before the surgery. Embrace every moment. Process your grief, your fear and your anger and get through. Prayers to you.

Ah Tiffany, it wasn't what you or anyone else wanted to hear but like you said it is what it is. I was 29 when I had a huge neurosurgery operation lasting just over 12 hours. The week leading up to it was very stressful. But like you, I had no choice. My little boy was only a year old. I was in a brain injury rehab hospital for 7 months after surgery & had to learn to do everything again. Walking was a huge milestone that happened months down the track after a lot of hard work, but there were many other milestones just as big along the way. I never really thought I'd be well enough to return to work or look after my little boy on my own again but I did. Everything I've done since then is a bonus. That Neuro team gave me my life back. They were the most incredibly dedicated men & women I've ever met. Right now I'm sure you don't want to think about how you will be after surgery. It's life altering & very difficult to go into when you can't physically see something on the outside that needs such radical treatment. I kept thinking they'd realize during the surgery that I didn't really need to be there & I'd wake up & go home! But I did need it & in my case if I had waited even a few more days the outcome would've been very different. That's what kept me going every single day. I'd been given a second chance. My sister flew over to be with me & became my lifeline. She looked after my son & came to see me 4 times week, every week. I was a single mum, living in a country thousands of miles from my family and it was the hardest thing I've ever done. If I can do it, anyone can. You have the best attitude of anyone I've ever seen, you are like a hand of steel in a silk glove. And you have an incredible support team ♥️. You know this will be difficult but you are not on this journey alone. You have yet to meet the inspirational people that will work so hard to get you back fighting fit again. You WILL get there! Sending you love, compassion, understanding and lots & lots of hugs 🤗 You've definitely GOT THIS! ✔️✔️✔️

I'm so relieved you can still have the surgery! My mom had rectal cancer and was told surgery was not an option, so that is wonderful news that you can get rid of this cancer! My moms advice was just live in the moment and do what needs to be done for that day, and try not to let your mind go to the next day. Take it one day at a time. I'm reminded when you first found out you had cancer, the picture of Jesus fell out of yoyr Bible. I believe he was showing you he is with you through this process. Hang onto your faith in God and the Love of family to get you through this as I know you are. You Got this, but most importantly, God's got YOU!

***To the comments about just taking out the cancer at time of biopsy: It's more complicated than that. It does not take a team of 5+ surgeons to do a biopsy that are needed for the main surgery. The team of surgeons for the oncological surgery would consist of: Anesthesiology, Urology, Genecology, Gastro, Rectal and myriad OR nurses and assistants. It is a huge, complex surgery and lasts many hours.

@@cheryl2912 I did too! I was shaking my head in confusion! Like how could this happen to her? I really feel like her doctor was just figuring things out as he went along and not really knowing exactly what to do so he chose to wait & see? Now look what happened to poor Tiffany, I'm literally crying for her because the wait & see was the worst thing she could do & she followed what the doctor said when an overwhelming amount of doctors, nurses, specialists were telling her NOT to wait & to have the surgery ASAP! I'm so glad that her cancer didn't spread cuz I don't know if I could handle that. It's bad enough that the tumor grew but I'm so thankful that at least she can still have it removed! She really needs to talk to a Therapist because this is gonna throw her for a loop & she just might start to regret listening to the doctor now. She has been put under so many times & I don't know why this doctor wants to do yet another biopsy then surgery because if she has to go through what she went through the last time that's gonna be so hard on her body & then she has to recover from that & have a 12 hr surgery? How on earth is she going to survive that? I think it's going to be too much for her. I am praying for her so much, everyday I pray for her to be ok.

The poor thing. I am so sad, as well. I agree that putting her thru another biopsy.. the last one didn’t even work, and then a major surgery is really odd. What could the biopsy show… that she doesn’t need surgery? She needs surgery… get the surgery. With the snails pace of all of these docs, it’ll be several months before they can get all 4 specialists in one place. She needs to schedule it now and skip the biopsy and eat to her hearts content! My son-in-law has been quite unwell for months but he's been too stuborn to take time off work to get himself checked properly with the doctor. He's lost over 50 pounds since this all began. A few weeks ago his body finally took the desision out of his hands when he became desperatly ill and in agony while at work.(he's always at work) He still refused to let his co-worker take him to hospital until their job was done. He just lay down in the truck until quitting time, but at least he finally went. They have it narrowed down to two things. It's either crohns or colon cancer. Obviously, we're hoping for crohns. I've been following you since your cancer journey began and I'm so very grateful to you for sharing all this. It's comforting to know what may lie ahead if the tests don't give us the answer we're hoping for.

I’m sure you’re going to be in shock for a little while. Would suggest reaching out to a psychologist to talk through such a big surgery, get your emotions out without feeling like you’re burdening you’re family as you mentioned before, etc. Dealing with mortality and big life changes is really tough and most need extra support. The Royal Marston may have a specific program. There is usually a chaplain too that people can talk to.

It could be worse Tiffany the Cancer hasn't spread, and they can still operate. I am so sorry you are going through this. But, baffled as to why the Doctor's have been so slow to do surgery. Waiting only lessened the chance to be able to do the surgery?! The confusing part now is doing another difficult biopsy before surgery? And why are they waiting 2 months to do the surgery? I'm sorry, my head is swirling with questions that you probably don't even know...

We got this! YOU got this. Matt is right the worst news would've been him saying he cant operate. Focus on getting strong right now. You must feel scared like you're about to head into a battle. You can do this though, we're rooting for you. Life will change a lot but you can adapt, and a chance at life, even if it is totally different with ostomies, etc, is better than death. Take some time to yourself to absorb the information you must be completely overwhelmed.

He’s going to do another biopsy but the issue with that is a tumor can grow 1 millimeter away from the area he biopsies. The scans show a more complete picture. They need to get it out ASAP, waiting shouldn’t be an issue. Why do patients have to wait so long in England? I’ll never understand. I’m a dual citizen with family there and they’ve had to wait months to be seen for suspicious pains. Praying for you sweet girl - please stand up for yourself. 💙we got this💙

I thought you were supposed to be seen in two weeks; and, if not, back to the GP.

@@daffodil9075 you’re right; when I lived there for 8 years and had something pop up, there was a two week ‘rule’ that you’d get in to see a specialist. I’d imagine with cancer surgery it would/should be the same.

I don;t usually comment on you tube, but I have been following your journey for the past few months, and I find your bravery inspirational. I find it also gives others hope, as well as others that comment here who give you hope, if that all makes sense? In many ways you are a big family. For Matt. As a person living in Ireland, you can be proud of the way that you support and love Tiffany during this difficult time, you do it in such a gentle but strong way, and that's what she needs at this moment, as cancer affects everyone, not just those associated with the actual prognosis. Tiffany you have so many people in your corner, with a wonderful extended family. We can only hope and pray that all will be well for you, so I will light a candle for you so that you know you are loved and supported. Try and keep the head up as best you can, but know its ok to feel a bit low too. You got this
