Looks good but not sure what the eggs are really adding?

Just tried to do this recipe then realized it has absolutely no measurements what-so-ever. Needless to say my mashed potatoes was too dry and the corn needed to be cooked more. Though the items combined beautifully, none of the stuff really meshed together. The food tasted like a combination of leftover items tossed together which, was the reason why I chose this recipe in the first place. I had a ton of potatoes, canned tuna and corn to get rid of. IF I try this recipe again, I will add more liquid to make my mashed potatoes creamier.
