My mom used to make something similar to this about 55 years ago. She'd use a can of cream of mushroom soup with half a can of milk warmed up and poured over them. Delicious! Thanks for sharing this. Brought back some yummy memories!
Made these during our current lockdown with some long frozen puff pastry we had on hand. Loved it! I enjoy your straight to the point video style and soothing voice.
Me and my little dog( Coby ), just made this at midnight on Friday. Made 3doz and already ate 4 of this . I’m set for tomorrow and day after. This is so good. Thanks Chef.🍺
Sounds delicious!!! I think I'll try these, but add a sprinkle of curry powder to the mix. Or with lemon zest and spring onions. Or salmon and cream ... or chicken and mushroom .... the list is endless!
Hello sir im filipina and working here in hk as domestic helper im very thankful to your recipes because its help me a lot thank you for sharing. God bless
Great Recipe Dave !!! So simple and easy to prepare and make and the result/s are guaranteed to satisfy the most ravenous hunger !!! Also, just a couple of these, will help to make friends and quieten noisy neighbours !!!
Who else is watching this in 2020 cause we on lockdown because of Covid 19? Still had tuna left over from Hurricane Florence and just got more from the Salvation Army. Thanks so much!!!
We are lack down in Canada as well and iam keep searching what to cook every day on RU-vid found so I will make my pie from scratch as well tomorrow I will try it
@@farzanarezai1534 well it backfired for me cause today my daughter said she didn't like canned tuna anymore. (Damn those cute dolphins that get caught up in their net!!!!😭😭😭😭
@@Queen.Lady.Jocelyn There are some brands of Tuna that are Dolphin safe. Let your daughter know that just in case it's the Dolphins being caught as to why she won't eat Tuna or tinned fish anymore.
Sometimes I'm tired of tuna cakes or sandwich. I love this recipe. Looks so tasty and easy to make. Thanks for sharing. By the way love the voice and easy explanation.
Mmmm delicious. We call them “pasties” in the UK ,never seen them in a fish version, the original is the Cornish pasty, half savoury and half fruit filling-a meal in one! But I love tuna so I’ll be trying these ASAP 😋
I’ve made this with chicken. I used Pepperidge Farm pastry. I also used green chilies, onions, cheddar cheese and in some I used jalapeños. I served Spanish rice and refried beans. Pepperidge Farm is very flaky and I didn’t use enough filling the first time. It swallowed up everything and took quite a bit to get to filling. I overfilled the next time I made them. These tuna pies are delicious and the chicken pies are too. Try them both. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I’m definitely going to try these!! I really like all fish but my family enjoys the canned chicken more than tuna. I’ll probably be forced to make both!
Love seeing you in person Dave. I have always loved your quick and easy recipes, always a delight and most interesting. You encourage people like me to have a go in confidence. Cook & Share 👌🏆💟
I made these for my family today and everyone loved them even my picky 2year old son he doesn't like sweetcorn, onions or tuna really but he loved these so I will definitely be making these again
Wonderful and easy to follow recipe! Made these delicious Tuna Pies for a ladies luncheon and everybody came back to my kitchen for more. Fortunately, I had doubled the recipe so I met the demand. Next time I'll substitute cubed chicken with mushrooms and baby spinach in place of the tuna. Might even add some feta cheese, too! I love taking a good recipe such as this one and creating my own variations!!
Excellent pies. Will make again.should have mentioned to pick the tops of the pies ..a couple did have leakage at the side .need to pick the pastry before cooking.xo
Still watching you in 2021 during Covid-19 lockdown in Canada. We have lots of time to cook and I love this recipe. Your voice has such a calming effect on me.
Hey Sharon. Fast question for you. I have been having some trouble with notifications today. Did you receive a notification of a new release in your email?
Here's a suggestion from a retired chef. after you brush the pies with the wash, sprinkle some sesame seed on, then bake them. You can also use caraway seeds too.
im watching this in the Netherlands, i dont think we have cheddar cheese other than slices overhere. Does Germany has cheddar cheese like in this video? Germany isnt far from the Netherlands
The Tuna puff that I had "probably" have butter, onion garlic, flour, curry powder, tuna, salt and *white pepper. The white pepper really stands out and I love it.
How cute are those pies! They sound as yummy as they look. You've given me a wealth of inspo for future savoury pastries; thanks so much! Note to self: Add a bit of freshly grated nutmeg and white pepper to roux. Swap out cheddar, peas and corn for swiss, spinach and mushrooms.
I love how your videos are edited they’re so freaking cute. Wish I had access to puff pastry or pie crust here but hopefully I’ll get to make these soon :3
I have to prep everything in 1 pan , then divide evenly into another pan, mine gets the chunk light tuna, my country club wife has to have the solid white albacore(we ain't rich, lol) then warm the tuna and place it in the puff pastry. I do not work for bumble bee tuna company, but a plug for them because for some reason their tuna does not have that tinny/metallic taste as the other name brands from the can
First time making these. I have a family of eight. Everyone loved them. I put some mushrooms in them in place of the corn. I would have put the corn in but didn't have any at the time. Wonderful lunch recipe. Will and the corn next time. Thank you for sharing this recipe on u tube.
Thanks for sharing your receipe. I watched the video and made just the way it says. Perfect outcome. Now its a hot favourite of my family! Looking forward for more receipes from you!
You could probably substitute chicken, tender beef, or any simular meat, or even vegetarian ingredients to expand your meal variety. I love his videos.
Hi Dave, can they be freezed ? cause if i made the same amount, it would be to much for just myself, my husband is allergic to fish and seefood so... and i would like to try these soon ! Thanks for sharing and have a good week end !
Love the jazz track, your voice is fabulous you should be on radio. If you buy puff pastry sheets there is no rolling out to do and they defrost in a minute. Just cut them in half for this recipe. Thanks
This would be great over egg noodles. We're on lock down so can't run out to the local stores. Will add the puff pastry to my shopping list for the next time I venture out. Thanks
this recipe was amazing I made it one night minus the corn because I'm not a fan. The 2nd time I made it I substituted the tuna with a store bought rotisserie chicken.. OMG it was amazing
