The day juju music tracks went on and on and on.....lol. This music reminds me of my childhood in Lagos. My aunt and uncle so loved Tunde Nightingale music and they would play it on blast from their sound system on weekends or when are on our way with them to 'Owanbe' parties. I couldn't understand much of what he sang (We were from the UK) but his voice and high life juju was distinctive from the others. Not only that, he played at a great aunts funeral party in a hall in Lagos. We kids just looked on and sourced for our own money spray. Most of those adults that introduced us to this type of music are all gone beyond too. Hope Tunde Nightingale is playing for them in yonder.
When I dream of Lagos this is the song I hear even after decades of living in the United States. An angelic voice that is matchless. A talented guitarist to boot!
Tears so so emotional about this particular song na poor i poor ,my mother still alive 92yrs old she never stop playing Tunde nitegale songs adorable beautiful songs with golden voice main reason his called the golden Bird that sing at nite God bless you and rest in peace
May the soul of Late Tunde Nightingale continue to rest in Perfect Peace. How I wish his name could be immortalised. Appreciation goes to the kind hearted person that uploaded these beautiful records. God bless. Thanks for sharing.
His name is already immortalized in his works, his love, messages for us to learn from, and most importantly in our hearts. Take solace, he remains unbeatable and unforgettable. The great Nightingale. Remember his Odijo Ta ba pade lawijo awon Oba. I love it . The whole LP . I can't stop listening to it. Side A and B. And other fine works too. Whenever l am melancholic or blue l turn it on to soothe my nerves and relaxation.
Tunde Nightingale's style must have drawn inspiration from "rara" poetic renditions which he successfully integrated into emerging highlife music style... Always refreshing and relaxing.
As an up and coming folk singer I v had to study Sir Tunde Nightingale's music so as to study understand the fundamentals of palmwine music and how it may have influenced folk sounds.
May God heal our land. Nigeria is not Nigeria again. Yoruba self, politicians has destroyed the love among us. Yoruba people in government don't reminiscence their origin anymore, Acting according to Fulanic decision.
One of the best , out of the old schools musicians. He usually steal the show in Lagos Island in those dsys. His music will alsays brings back the old memories of early 70s.May his soul rest in peace while those of us still here savour his sweet melodies.
Nightingale Regina, blessings on you Regina. Your grandpa was and will always be an icon to Nigerian music and in Havana. My mother loved his music despite not being from his part of his world.
I am really happy listening to this kind of music , unlike what the industry has become lately. May the good lord bless and help us in this part of the world. Nigeria has become something else,no respect for the elders,no love amongst the people, no unity e.t.c . May God heal our land. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
At 6:15 I thought I heard something like PADI MI, may it is my hearing but if not then the slang Paddy mi must have been existence for long...Good Oldschool
