I totally love your channel and the info you provide, it's just that I always try to avoid the beginning of the video because it kills the exciting of waiting for the drag race to begin, u can see who is winning from the beginning of the video which really bothers me. Thanks for the channel and your effort 🙏
Thanks for this vid bro, another great one. I've had the privilege of driving a new 922 Turbo S at the Porsche Experience in ATL and it was amazing experience. Definitely a bad ass machine id love to own one day. Id take a 991 Turbo S over a 992 Carrera. Id rather get the 991.2 Turbo S though that came out with 580 hp and was capable of mid 10's at 130+ stock
greetings from CA brother. I’m almost 100% sure, I’ll be getting my 992 GT3 delivered mid next year and I’d be happy to let you guy’s test it if we can get the logistics down.
For a two-person production, you guys put most of RU-vid to shame tbh. Looking forward to this channel blowing up - I like your cinematic style, it feels very much like TV standard.
This was very relaxing to watch! Thank you once again for an awesome comparison and video! I wish we all could race and have drinks by your place! Nice and cozy bar! Enjoying my 992 C2S here in BC, Canada.
Something's not right... Why does the 992 keep changing? At 2:32 it has the standard rear At 2:43 it has the Sport Design rear At 2:54 back to the standard rear It happens during the drag race too
Just sold my 9K mile guards red 992 C4S, Sport Chrono package, glass moonroof, 18 way adjustable, projector headlights, full leather and of course a Burmeister stereo. Owned it since new, took delivery on it in 2019 so it been enjoyed. loved the 992, I might argue it's one of the finest automobiles ever made. It's my third Carrera and best one yet. your are correct, drivability is so very nice, interior is primo. Here is the crazy thing, I am now driving a Saleen s302 yellow lable. Wow, not as refined as the 992, but it a really fun car to drive.
Would have been interesting to see some of the dig times as well to get a sense of the performance improvement on a launch for the 992 stage 1. Great vid though 👍🏻
This is a hard choice cuz I love the 991 Ts but I think the interior of the 992 4s would seal the deal for me. Keep up the great work, I always look forward to you vids.
Went through this exact process before purchasing my 992 C2S. Five main factors were: 1. I can spec it the way I want for the same price of a 991 TTS. 2. I wouldn’t have someone else’s second hand spec. 3. Factory warranty 4. Aesthetics: Interior of the 991 looks antiquated & similar to a 911 from 2005. 5. I prefer rear-wheel drive on a 911
Short and right to the point. Love this format with the rolling start pulls! And yes very difficult choice. If price is equal 992 has the slight edge, dont forget a stage 2 tune is only a few more grand.
The 991 has a much cleaner look, the new rear end has too much plastic in the rear exhaust area, would love to see a 991.1 GTS on the channel, those are my favorite 911's..🤤

@@TheFreelanceCowboy actually ended buying a 2020 Shelby GT350R.. kept it for 4 months and sold it.. great car but not a Porsche. I’m back in market for a Porsche but holding for now.
@@lro5159 why holding? I Just bought a 2012 911 Carrera S Cabriolet a month ago. Best car I’ve ever had. And I’ve had 4 mustangs lol. Currently on a 1991 Foxbody. No… they’re not a Porsche lol.
Just so you know, the 991.2 Turbo S is a full second faster 60-130 than the 991.1 and about half a second in the 1/4 mile. It's quite a bit quicker than the 991.1 version. Responds better to a tune as well.
I don’t get it. I have seen proof that a tuned 992 C2 or 4 ‘s runs 7.5 60-130. I saw 4 or 5 dragy runs for different cars all running right around that 7.5 mark. What the hell was wrong with the tune your C2S had? My stock 2020 C2S runs 9.3 60-130.
Love that interesting comparison! The level of performance of the 992 Carreras is amazing. But the 991Turbo S still superior and we can deny the appeal of the “big turbo”! I wonder if it was the 997 Turbo S...Another interesting “in house” comparison would be the 991.2 Carrera GTS and the 992 Carrera S. They got the exact same 450hp!
Great videos, I have only seen a few of your videos, but they always look very classy and the set is always perfect to say the least. I do have a couple of questions though, which tune does the C4S has done on it? And what exhaust system is using? from the Cats back or no cats? Thank you, Nice videos, definitely like the poise and the way you use the language on them.
Turbo S with a tune! I'm actually looking at new 992 Carrera T. Can't beat the tech and I can't afford a 992 Turbo. I just want it built like I want it
How much does sharkwerks charge? The GT4 is great but not so much as a daily. I would highly recommend a 991.2 GTS with KW lowering springs, 200 cell sport cats, alpha intercooler upgrade, and tune. And at a competitive price with these choices. Just saying 😉
Awesome as always. I owned a 718s manual for a few years. I had the opportunity to drive a friends 991 turbo s at a hill climb event. It was incredibly fast but I found it rather robotic and ultimately more of a cruiser. Keep up the great work!
Should have took the extra time to get more even starts. Total transparency, I’m a 991.1 turbo (tuned) owner and was rooting for the turbo in this video. Great video and I look forward to more content 👍🏼
Great content! But being a Porsche owner, I'll take a 991.1/991.2 Turbo S over a 992 4S. Both are amazing machines, but I'll take the prestige of owning a Turbo/Turbo S model plus you can get a tune on those to make them even faster as well. Keep up the good work!
The 991.2 is the way to go. It would have run away with the tests. It's "only" 20hp but that's not the real story, it traps 5-6mph faster in the 1/4 mile and has much better roll-on performance. A full second faster 60-130 than the 991.1
Crazy you can buy a the Carrera for like 1/2 the price of a Turbo S and then get an exhaust, downpipes and a tune and make comparable power. Turbo S really has it all though, the performance is just off the charts insane especially with a few upgrades. That coupled with it's beautiful looks and comfort levels make it my dream daily supercar.
TBH I really like Track Day videos. They are high quality vids. But considering this channel name , shall we have more track / driving dynamics vids rather than boring drag vids? Appreciate it
either car is brilliant especially when corners come into play thats when all the other competition is toast! I love my 2020 992 4s tuned black on black and fast as i need!
Great video! I also thought it would be a closer race. BTW, that 991 TTS needs to be tuned ASAP to open up its potential. The owner should stop keeping its virgin state and not save it for the next guy 😜
I currently have a 991.1 turbo stage 4 and have been considering selling to swap to a manual 992 c4S. I miss the gears and would give up the speed for the manual and better interior/tech
Wow, should I get the 992 gts 4 over the 991.1 turbo? I like robotic feeling cars and appreciate all the technology (4 wheel steering 4 wheel drive) btw my first sport car
Interesting … tuned 992S’s with catless downpipes (making 540 whp) are getting just below 7 sec on 60-130, from times I’ve seen from people and forums. This 992 4S is a bit slow; also the driver did not use the sports response button on the roll, which would’ve helped it some tho still might lose. My 2S is getting tuned next month.
i think it goes without saying the turbo is better, enough said, i secretley voted for the 992, the carrera is so much more sleek and better on the interior standpoint, more tuning and it would beat the turbo s.
I’ll never buy a Turbo S because it only has two pedals. If you want to go fast in a straight line, get a plaid. Speed is cheap, getting cheaper and there is nothing like rowing through the gears
What mods did the 991 turbo S have just full exhaust? Curious how much that gives it without a tune. Also who was the tuner for the 992. My 2020 992 C2S manual w/ GIAC tune from champion on dragy has done 60-130s in the 8.7-8.8 range so far but only have done 3 pulls 3rd 4th only shift in Florida heat.
Literally shopping both of these cars right now in these variations (all with lane assist, lane keep assist, front, rear parking assist and adaptive cruise control) #1. 20/21 992 CS #2. 20/21 992 C4S #3. 17/18 991 Turbo #4. 16/17 991 Turbo S All are close in price within 20-25k averaging. So far I am leaning 21 992 4CS or 991 18 Turbo. (Both have significant tuning abilities after warranty runs out, obviously with the 991 Turbo being capable of more due to engine displacement as well as materials. What do you or anyone else here in the comments think? As in your opinions and which you would have for $150-$175,000 ?
@James Wilburn Personally, I would go with a 992 CS if you don’t live in a cold climate area. It offers quite a bit of potential still in stock form as you can see here. Of course a modded Turbo will be faster but you can easily be just as fast as a stock 991 Turbo S with a tune and exhaust. But biggest thing for me is that the interior is dramatically improved in the 992. So much so that it negates any performance difference in my opinion. That is of course you only really need the car for winning races and such, then obviously the Turbo, but for daily driving and track work, a 992CS tuned is a wonderful machine.
@@SpeedLabsMotorEnvy I have to agree with you. I purchased low mile 9xx 21 C4S with 32k in options for a great buy (in today's market) Tuesday. Fly down to pick her up tomorrow.
