Thanks for all the info! I've got a 5.7 in a 67 Dart running a Megasquirt I've been trying to do some fine tuning on and have been looking for more resources that show the stock tune and how it works so I could compare it. I basically started from a blank sheet originally and have been trying to find something more like stock tables to put in it to see how it might run. Really nice to get a walkthrough of how the factory ECU works so I can try to mimic a lot of that on a Megasquirt (if possible).
BTW That model makes 370hp at the crank in good condition that cam got it up to 450 wheel 😮💨 Telling my shop I need an FRP cam paired with the headers on my 21 5.7!!
Nice explanation. I need to find one of your 6.4 jeep videos with a stg 2 cam. I've gotten it to idle and drive pretty decent by just watching hints on videos. Hard to believe cars actually worked after seeing all these parameters.
Excellent Matt! I love that you're diversified w\ tuning proficiency across multiple platforms. Would love to see you tune a Ford Spanish Oak ECU-equipped Mustang GT so that I can learn! Appreciate all you do! 👍👊
Awesome Matt《☆》I have a 2014 Charger Pursuit 5.7 HEMI car. It came from Tennessee Law Enforcement. It looks like the roads are salted up there. Fortunately mine's still running good on the stock engine at 117k Police miles 8600 engine hours 4700 idle hours. If I hang onto it & the engine starts making noise then I may just trade it in on another Pursuit with lower miles. It's got plenty of horsepower for me as a daily driver. I'll probably do a mid muffler delete but leave the resonators on at the back. They sound Pretty good that way & not too loud. Nice job btw. I'm not aware of any good Mopar shops here in Northeast Florida✌🏼😎☯️
Change the cam if it starts ticking its easy you could do it in 2 days your self and save your self thousands instead of replacing the car to a different car thats gonna have the same problem
@@Felipe-fy4wz 《☆》That's an option I've thought about. I'm not set up for doing it myself. Most Legit Shops in Jax Florida don't do MDS delete for obvious reasons. They would rather change the Engine as Labor cost is about the same & it's easier to Warranty a Professionally rebuilt Engine. They will do Cam swaps with OEM MDS intact. Nobody here seems to speak MOPAR. Now that I've owned a Charger Pursuit I know what to look for if I ever decide to buy another one. The Dealers like to import cars from the Rust belt into Florida.✌🏼😁☯️
Hi Matt, just one remark: I'm for tuning both banks, where BANK1 can be used as a base point only. The problem is, that both banks are not evet in terms of air flow, like cylinders are not. The differences are not significant but helps a lot to make a tune properly, and run engine most efficient as possible.
Matt, thanks for this video. I'm going with an FRP Tomahawk 2.0 and want to tune it myself. My car is a 2014 R/T with 6-spd manual. I just installed longtube headers, with no cats. I assume the VE of the engine has been improved, based on how headers scavenge the exhaust. Will the ANN compensate for that, or is there a need to tune via VE tables...just for headers? The cam is coming in the next month or two.
Awesome video. I noticed the hp tuners data does not seem as detailed as my AiM logged data. Is that just a setting you could change, or hp tuners doesn't give as granular of data?
From my understanding, if you tune with neural network you would leave the ve tables off and not even touch them, because when you turn the neural network back on it ignores the ve tables. Any truth to that?
You said not to touch the torque reduction in the misc cutoff table because it could cause issues. But why is that? Shouldnt it be a form of torque managment where it cuts torque based off of rpm error to youre shift point?
It would only affect torque management during a shift if your shift is too close to the rev limiter. Otherwise it would have nothing to do with torque reduction during a shift. Those tables are on the TCM side of things.
I never seen him tune one this might be the first video I ever seen him work on one so don’t be surprised I thought he was like a GM loyalist but I guess not he can tune Hemis too
I tune GM, Hemi, and N/A Ford V8s. I specialize in GM obviously but I would say I’m almost as good at Hemi as well but I don’t like to advertise tuning them very often. I figured it was time though since there is a large lack of information out on Hemi tuning.
@@Matt_Sanford the hemi info is extremely few and far between definitely wish there was as much or even half the info available as there is available in the ls engines
I have a 6.4 I’m putting a hc blower on and want to put a cam I just got. If I was to at least try and tune myself for quick run around the block and try to drive to a good shop. Want to know how different would you tune with both
@Matt_Sanford Thanks for the detailed video/information. I have a 2012 charger SRT8 with a decent size aftermarket VVT cam using the comp cams VVT limiter. The car runs great driveability and WOT wise, however i noticed a setting that differs from what you show. Under the( Airflow -Variable canshaft table, it shows that the 1 phaser system, Term Reset, OCV Clean) are all enabled, but on my tune they're all disabled. Is there any reason behind this?
