I needed to watch the video a million times as I am left-handed. lol... but I will learn the purl stitch yet. I have the knitting down because of your clear directions. Sometimes I hate stumbling over my left hand. Thanks for the great video!

Thank you sooo much for this tutorial! This is my first time trying Tunisian crochet and I couldn’t seem to pick it up by reading the pattern books explanation. When I did a search on RU-vid I grabbed the first video. When the video started, wouldn’t you know, I was so glad to hear your voice! I knew you would show and explain everything I needed to know. Thank you again! You explained it perfectly!

Love you and this........OMG, I have been having big time difficult with both the TKS and the TPS. You're instructions and the "show" while teaching at a perfect pace and tone had me doing both by the end of the video. OF COURSE, I had to watch it again to do it again....but this is fantabulous. Thank you so very much.....big time thumbs up for your teaching and technique.

Fiber Spider, thank you so much for this video! I bought a book a while back on Tunisian crochet and the description of how to do the knit stitch made absolutely no sense. Thank you for your wonderful explanation of how to do it. I love your videos and I am looking forward to watching more of them!

Good morning! I was pleasantly surprised to find another Tunisian tutorial up so fast this morning. I got thoroughly tickled at your description of your "death grip" LOL. I do that as well. I was stitching along with you practicing the two stitches. Since my largest tunisian hook is a size K, I selected some baby sport weight to play with.. my finger just has to guide/hold that yarn here LOL. Good tutorial.. and it gave me some ideas for some cute baby hats and lots of smiles and a good laugh... because oh yes, I did try wtihout holding the yarn in place. My first excursion into Tunisian crochet months back is what got me to laughing this morning with you calling it your death grip. I did the same thing then, elbows up all intense and tense and going at it like a farmer digging post holes LOL! I kid you not, i was miserable for 3 or 4 days after that one, it was my shoulders... anyhow, I digress.. you rock Fiber Spider! Thank you!

Lol! Nice to know I'm not alone with my "death grip". The thing that I have found that helps me most is by using a larger gauge hook/needle than what is typically recommended on the yarn label, usually going up at least one size, for tunisian at least two to three sizes. I hope that helps you too! 😉

Gr8 video my friend. I learned Tunisian SS doing a 10 stitch pillow. I really enjoy this type of crochet but need to further my skill set. I’ve been doing a lot of regular crochet lately.

This is the only tutorial I've found that's demonstrated an alternate way to finish your first pass of a TPS row. I hate finishing it like a knit stitch because when doing a rib stitch I find it doesn't work. But I was also hoping to see a close up photo of the purled edge, because I need some visual guidance in that area.

Wow that knit stitch is one thick stitch isn't it? I had no idea it was so "fluffy" lol. Don't have a Tunisian hook so just experimenting with the regular Boye Ergonomic hooks I have, squeezing a 15 chain start onto it. Thinking about maybe using that as the two front panels on a baby cardigan with a granny square back piece. The huge contrast between the thickness of this and a granny square may not work though. Thanks for the vid!

The knit stitch was a snap, but I couldn't follow the purl stitch. The yarn was dark and I have a bit of a vision problem. Thank you for your great tutorials

Thank you again for your turtorial, you're awesome. Question, can this be used to make a blanket? If so, how???
@2618winslow
@2618winslow 4 года назад
So far I've made 2 blankets. One blanket I did by making blocks and then set them together with slip stitching, and the other one I did 5 long panels and then set them together the same way. I've also made 2 baby blankets doing the entrelac tunisian and am currently working on a huge entrelac throw. It is a magnificent type of crochet and you will be very happy with the final product.

If you did a row of knit stitch, next row simple stitch, next row knit stitch, would that take the curl out?

Mikey, can you help me please. I'm making a Outlander Shawl. R1 is not adding up to the Foundation row. FR is 5 sts. It says R1 ends up with 9 sts. I see 8 sts to go into the 5 sts, ending up with 12 sts? How do I work this? Foundation row - FP. Insert hook in 2nd backbump from hook, yo, pull up loop, * insert hook in next backbump, yo, pull up loop, rep from * until you have 5 loops on hook. RP. 5 sts R1 - FP. T-inc, tps in next st, t-inc, tss in next st (insert st marker here and replace every row), t-inc, tps in next st, t-inc, tss in last st (always insert hook under both vertical bars of last st here and in every row). RP. 9 sts

hmm wonder if you did a knit stitch then a purl stitch for a couple of rows if it would cure the curling issue.
