I have disassembled the turbine. There are 3 gears but NO pump. The white spray manifold on the bottom that has the hose connected to it does not have any passages to allow for pumping of the fluids. This turbine simply drives the brushes. Just checked and the Hoover FH50150 is gravity feed to the floor. There is a second turbine pump for lifting solution for the attachments.
For those of you who had done EVERYTHING right and your brushes still don’t turn, don’t fret. There are two hoses the lead up to the handle switch. The smaller of the two may be pinched. You can either replace it with standard hose available at Home Depot or you can remove it and turn it around. I pulled my hose, heated the kink with a blow dryer and reformed it, turned it around and the brushes started spinning again. Be careful removing it from the white unit at the base. I had to heat the end with the blow dryer and carefully slide it off using a screwdriver. You don’t want to brake the nipple. Good luck.
Thanks for all the videos on this particular unit. Near the end of some recent steam cleaning I noticed it getting really wet under the unit like it was leaking. It started when I was using the attachment for the stairs but I believe it contained when I began using it without the attachment. What are the most common failure points? I got the machine tore apart but didn’t want to remove things that were definitely not the cause just to check. Thanks!
Great video. How can you tell if the Turbine is bad? My shampooer started making a funny noise, and the started smoking. Smelled like a vacuum cleaner belt. Of course I find there isn't a belt. Plz help!
Brushes spin fine but no spray. Tried the recommended priming 15 times over. No joy. Seemed to work for a minute (poorly) then stopped. Any suggestions?
when I'm done I wash everything and put a big box fan in front of the machine and all parts making sure air from the fan is going through that screen... when I put it away in the closet dry... I don't put everything back together.... I just leaves the parts off... so far no issues in 3 years...These machines are so great and easy to use I wish Hoover made them better so you don't have to go through hoops to keep them running.
The rug shampoo feature is working fine, spraying cleaner, rinsing, brushes rotating and suction. the upholster hose feature will spray the cleaner but does not vacuum the solution from the upholstery. Any thoughts on what may be the cause or which part is failing Model FH50251 Power Scrub Elite Pet + Thank you
We have not seen much luck with the Hoover shampooers in particular. To be fair, water and vacuuming never mix well so designing a shampooer is difficult. The more solid model out there is the Bissell Pro Heats actually.
@@vacuumsrus Thanks for the info. I am a retired engineer as well as a past Tool & Die maker and attempts to repair the pumps have been failures due to gear / bearing corrosion and wear. I will try the Bissell if my dog is still around ...
You can also look into switching into an enzyme based cleaner rather than soap based like the Bissell and Hoover shampoos are. Enzyme cleaners won't cause quite so much wear and tear on the inside of the machine. There are many brands out there but Unique is our preferred one.
@@vacuumsrus I just got one, but a different model. It worked well on the first use, but its got a design flaw in that the bearings in the turbine are exposed to water and the cleaning solution. I decided I'm going to replace the bearing with new ones but pack them with marine grease instead of oil. Just need to figure out how to get the top bearing out. The replacement turbine is $65, just about half the cost of the cleaner itself. Crazy. I have the FH50130 model
I just just watched your video about replacing the turbine in my Hoover turbo scrub 50134. Where can I find one to replace the old one? I thought I would be able to just replace the bearings in it but the entire turbine broke. So I need a replacement, where can I find one?
@@vacuumsrus I looked at the link you sent me and it says that it’s out of stock. I really only need the bearings that go in it, the rest of it is in good shape. Mine is a fh50134, but it looks like the other ones are the same, are they?
