Hey nobody roast this guy for buying a turbo right away if your a real car enthusiast you know if you can afford something to upgrade your car your obviously gonna do it. At the end of the day we watch this guy because he has more coin to do stuff like this so we are just along for the ride. Also I vote for the pillar placement for the gauges.

They will cry a lot if they live in Thailand. Lots of guys here go to car parts shop right away after they pulled out of a dealer 😂😂😂. People do what they want with their cars, and we are so happy to watch when they put it online. You said it all right my man.

Dont really understand the want to boost the brz. Now hes going to have to basically re learn the power band, get a new clutch, etc. But hey, at least you'll have a reason to rebuild the motor soon...

Exactly would of been beneficial to keep it stock and reliable while learning. Once the turbo install happens he's gonna be spending so much money and time. Guy has only had one event

The gauge pods on the passenger dash are nice looking just hard to actually read.. and if you’re drifting that’s a long way to look while sliding to monitor anything if needed. Pillar works. Another option I would do is the Block8Head defroster vent gauge pod (single or double) and then a traditional ac vent pod for one.

my vote goes for A pillar. it's a track purpose car(hopefully haha), so I would go for function over aesthetics and it looking cooler. id want those gauges where you just have to glance over with your eyes rather than turning your whole head.

DUSTIN, look into the Block8Head gauge pod. Replaces the defroster vent next to the A-pillar. Available in single, double and triple but i would recommend against the triple cause it weighs to much and falls. Theres also the P3 vent pod that replaces the vent to the left of the steering wheel

I highly recommend the FlexPod by Cravenspeed (enough for 2 gauges) and the ATi vent gauge pod. It gives aftermarket gauges a stock/clean look.

I’m running 8 psi on factory internals. Haven’t had one problem except the clutch slipping. Changed that and have been driving daily for 1 year on boost. Haven’t been easy on it either

I'm sure the turbo kit is gonna be running low boost so he can still learn at a steddy pace. As dustin said 50 to 100hp more is nothing really if anything it's gonna make learning a whole lot easier. I personally think you should install the gauges infant of the passenger side dash as you where suggesting! That would look so cool and clean, and also (different perspective) nothing too distract you in ur driver view so when you drift you can strictly focus on that no lighting or gauges to distract you!!

What steering wheel is that by sparco I ? And did you need to upgrade any internals for before upgrading with a turbo like needing bigger injectors or anything like that ?

How did this car hold up? Im buying a 13’ frs soon and turbo setup will be the main mod besides intake, full exhaust then a tune but it will be my daily driver. Dont want to grenade the motor a month later. Im also not an aggressive driver except for a track day here an there but I want the power to be there whenever i want it. Also what numbers did this car make to the crank and wheels? Torque?

Hey man just watching the video and you asked us about gauge pods why don't you see if you can take the air vents from the top off the dash board and see if there is a way off doing that?

you should be careful with how much sealant you use for the oil pan. I have seen (on other people's cars thankfully) gasket sealants ooze out when the pan bolted in and the excess on the inside of the pan eventually came off and clogged the oil pick up. Lack of oil flow will cause major headaches with your bearings and possibly clog up the turbo too. Hopefully it wouldn't happen to you but... something to keep in mind. If you are able to, monitor the oil pressure. It's way more important than boost gauge since lack of power is no where near as bad as catastrophic failure.

I would say put the boost gauges and stuff on the pillar. It seems more convenient. You can just glance up and you will see them. Instead of turning your head to the passenger side to see the readings. I agree it would be badass to see it on the passenger side. But for convenience I would say on the pillar. Especially for drift events and stuff
