Turbo Duo - caps and laser adj audio issue 

Just want to say thanks to GameTechUS, I ended up trying to adjust the pots on my system today and made a spectacular improvement over disc reading and audio issues!! Very impressed and very happy! Thanks dude!

Woohoo! Got my turbo duo controller in and the only thing I did to the "broken" turbo duo was use a q tip on the laser and I have a fully working Duo! Not bad for $45!

Yeah I know... been there, if you go to check out they are out of both types of power supplies for the duo. I ended up getting a 10v 850ma radio shack one. Its 150ma under what the duo is supposed to have but its worked so far

HI thanks for this I have a question please on mine it plays real disc fine but has trouble reading cd-rs sometimes they will work or sometimes not , would adjusting the pots help and if so which pots please thanks for you help

I have a power adapter of a Input 120V-Output of 9V for the TGX-16 but the system itself is DC 10.5V is that still okay to use.

My PC-Engine Duo recently stopped spinning. No idea why. Loved this video by the way. You mentioned “102 & 104 are mostly for spinning...” Is there a dedicated pot or dedicated capacitors for the drive to spin? I did a complete cap replacement but still no spin. The Hucard slot works fine, and no sound issues. So I’m trying to isolate the problem. Any help would be awesome.

Which pot was the main one you were adjusting? I have replaced all the caps on mine and I am still missing redbook audio. I'm about to replace the laser and I also have some op amps coming. Any help would be awesome.

I won 3 PCE systems off yahoo last year, extremely cheap. A DUO, RX and IFU. The RX is perfect and even included the 6B pad, which I personally am not fond of. I have hated it ever since I bought my original, boxed RX 11 years ago. I had a IFU+SCD Card since 1996 before that. I always wondered if the avenue6 was better, but never got around to buying one. So anyway, I cannot test the new IFU or DUO because I cannot find my old power adaptor for it. I think think the IFU should be fine, even the gear is intact! I knew the DUO would absolutely, 100% need a re-cap, but it's annoying not even being able to try it first. The case is in pretty rough shape and it had something rattling around inside which turned out to be a cap. When I was trying to open it to check the insides out, I discovered that the final screw was stripped, grrrr! No matter what I try, I cannot get it to budge. Any suggestions?

Where did you get the piece to place on top of the cd to stabilize it while it’s spinning?

Hi, i'm having problems with mine I know someone has fiddled with all of the pots (nightmare) are you able to advise the readings for VR101-VR105 to try and help me get mine back in the right sort of area? ta

Question: my TurboDuo already had caps replaced and worked perfectly, until recently, the sound in some games gets incredibly soft (almost mute, for example the background music in Super CD games is almost non-existent while sound effects work fine). Could it be caps failing already or something else?

Hi there quick question. I have a turbo duo and it plays cdrs fine. My second turbo refuses to play them but plays official ok. Is it the laser failing? It’s been recently recapped.

Can you point me in the direction of a 3rd party power supply and a/v cables for a duo? Just realized I'm gonna have to get a converter for my turbo grafx controllers too :(

I'm having audio problems with my Turbo Duo The problem is you cant hear the music but you can hear like the shooting sound and other sounds but no music. What would be the problem could it be the same thing your talking about?

Clean the lens and adjust the pots.

I have audio issues with my PC Engine Duo. Some CD games play fine, others have a rumbling crackling sound. Any idea what it could be? Love to get it fixed.
