The 2.5 is pretty good. I have the m54b25 with stock internals (200k miles). I am around 15 psi with m50 manifold +E85 runs good and is safe. Get a good tune and if you can run ethanol stock lines are fine and you will have a reliable setup.

Rocked the same setup on my turbo e46. Manual boost controller set to 10 psi was just enough power to pass pretty much anything on the street without sacrificing the reliability. Put 40k daily driver miles on the setup and never had an issue besides the usual VCG gasket here and there.

Such a good channel. Planning to boost my m54b22. Over square engine and such thick cylinder walls. 200k miles. Now the question. Could I use 3.0 injectors and stock fuel pump. Planning to get 300hp. So yea a small gain compared to 3.0 but the 2.2 engines are soooo cheap here. Same ms43 2.2makes about 170hp stock . Tnx and have fun !!!
all m54s run the same fuel system all the way to the injectors, but ovbs the 3.0 has bigger injectors, the is no point putting the b30 injectors on a 2.2 unless you can get more air into the engine
These B25's seem pretty damn spicy with a turbo on em. Do you think a B30 turbo would be that much faster? Those engines are much more costly (at least where I live). The B30 in my 330Ci has done half a million k's and is ripe for a rebuild, or a swap. Getting the engine rebuild would cost a few grand, but a used B25 with decent milage would cost heaps less, leaving a bunch of money for a turbo. What do you think? Is a turbo B30 going to be that much more fun than a B25, given the same setup?
b30 has issues enough without a turbo, 2.5 engines rev better and safer and make basically the same power. The thing is the bore is the same 2.5 2.8 3.0, and bore is the main thing that affects power. 3.0 is overrated, 2.5 with tune, 3.0 cams and intake makes almost the same power (with a bit less torque)
most of power loss is due to less agressive cam and restrictive intake manifold. If you install both + injectors and decat you should see similar power to 330i with higher rev limit, be it with a bit less torque @@HuskkM8

I have a 2002 325ci with about 200,000 miles.Im definitely going follow your guide. I have two questions.. I live in a smog state. Does the cvd piping top of motor effect smog . Can I keep the cvd? And my car is an automatic. If I keep the boost around 8 to 10 lbs will the tranny survive? I would not be doing any hard digs. If not I have a manual. And everything but the pedal sensors. Can you link me to were I can get them new. Mine uses 2
i have a 330xi, always wanted a fun daily, it has 191k, do you recommend maybe saving up for a new unit to start work on? also wondering on how boost would handle with the awd transmission, is the transfer case reliable enough for 400hp?
@@antoinebournival8674 yep, we both took off at the same time and were basically dead even until I hit the powerband in the e92. Then he started pulling on me harder lol
