We have one in our yard. 65 c10 stepwise long bed. Clean underneath. No rust anywhere. All the glass in nice shape. All gauges work. 410 posi. No engine no trans. Perfect. We put in a 502 crate with a 4l80hd Trans. Rack n pinion steering 4wpdb by Baer brakes. Suspention lowered 5 inch lower in rear/ 4 inch lo in front. Coil over shocks all 4 corners. New lighting. Resin bed bottom. More and more...

Great video again, can't wait for the second half. Good luck with the NV3500 Transmission. Original design by Getrag for compact and light duty trucks and light duty is what they meant. It was the weakest transmission we made. Always stay with the NV4500 manual for strength and durability. Diesel truck pullers in central Indiana used to love them and might still.

I agree with Mallary, too much fuel. You can't jack up the psi without making other adjustments. Have a nice day.

If the 6 cylinder had a points style distributor it probrably had a ballast resister bypass that gave 12 volts to the distributor when the starter is activated. Once the key is returned to the ignition position the ballast resister only delivers 6 volts to the distributor and that's why the engine stalled. Remove the resister to give the new distributor 12 volts all the time and the engine should continue running after the starter is disengaged.

I probably would have saved the "decapping" until after I worked out all the bugs. There are always issues with sensors and grounds when you swap in an LS, and the fewer variables you introduce the better off you'll be.

Needed to adjust the tune for the injector hack probably. That or decapping them resulted in inconsistent flow between all of them?

The issue is the trick isn’t sitting at my house! I would imagine the fuel trims are all over the place and just needs to be adjusted for start up and idle. Impressive build!

Yeah, I'm Guessing it has something to do with the injector mods.

Yea and I believe it needs tuning for the extra fuel. Engine may have been flooded.

If he has a base tune, it asks for injector size, in all tuner software I’ve worked with including HP. If he didn’t flash a turbo base tune, well there’s your problem, lady. De-capping injectors is standard for turbo LS motors instead of buying larger ones, very standard. So I’m guessing he didn’t flash a base tune

@@iamblaineful I am not A tuner, so the words flash and base tune mean very little to me. Was the problem that there was too much fuel because the computer didn't know that the injectors were de-capped? That was basically my guess. I watched the second video and I did not see the answer to the question that she asked. I like watching her videos, but I thought it was kinda rude of her to not give us the answer to her question after the problem was worked out.

This is my truck dream, early 60s GM truck with LS swap (with something like NV3500 or T56 behind it)... Sadly time, money, ability, and ongoing bodily injuries keep me from being able to do anything remotely like this. So for now I enjoy my (somewhat stock) 06 Silverado with 5.3L and Nv3500 (with 172K miles right now).

What parts did you use to adapt the NV3500 manual transmission to the LS 5.3 ? I heard in your video you used a 6.0 fly wheel did you need any adapters for throw out bearing clearance?

Kind of seems like a vapor lock situation to me...I know that really isn't supposed to happen with injection.... return line installed ?...If that's the case it should restart in about a half hour.

I'm thinking it's something goofy-simple like a temp or fuel sensor triggering a shut-off or the "modified" injectors are causing an issue.

Its where you modded the injectors The ECU sees a fault code like too much fuel. Put some stock injectors in and see what happens.

I'm guessing poor grounds - or not enough of them. Chevy cars years ago actually had a ground strap running from the firewall to the valve covers.

Possible problems: 1. too much fuel being injected fouls the plugs. 2. Fuel pump not working properly, or blocked fuel line/filter/whatever. 3. Throttle linkage fell off. 4. The ignition and/or Engine Control Module don't wanna play anymore. Or maybe... 5. GREMLINS!

Fuel (pump, filter, injectors, bad gas, loose fuse)? Spark (Distributor/ coils packs, fouled plugs, loose wiring)? Compression (Throttle body? Loose Bad sensor(s)? Loose timing belt?)
