Cool. I now know it will fit in my 2006 4runner! Just ordered it last night.
@rchobbyandmoreeverydayisagift
YES! It fits nicely in there! :)

It's a known issue with the TTE. The design of the plane more notably the front of the plane does not allow for enough cooling or air too pass through. I have had this issue especially on HOT days. Moving the ESC foward helps a little but not much. I have flown 3s 30c 3000mah too 4s 100c 4000mah in my TTE and have had issues with the ESC getting hot to the point that I have put an alarm if it got too 185. Now if you are flying it hard (mild 3d) it will get HOT quick. I tried a few things to help cool. I carefully cut the opening in the cowl below a little bigger and I even turned the fake exhausts pipes backwards...lol...looks funny but hey if it works but then I saw a video on YT on what a guy did to his TTE and it worked. I purchased a set of these on Horizon Hobbys website (Realistic Mesh-Type Hood Vents: Traxxas TRX-4 INTC28241). I put the exhaust pipes back how they were and flew it through 3 straight batteries and when I say 3 straight. I literally landed it took the battery out and put fresh battery and took off maybe 4 minutes between flights and no issues. The hottest it got up to was 160 and I was being especially aggressive on the third battery on purpose cause I figured no rest if its going to overheat its going to be on the 3rd battery (3rd battery. I used was a 4s 100c 4000mah) In the past if I brought the TTE to the field I better bring another plane cause I HAD to give it a rest between flights cause it got soooooo freaking HOT. Now I didn't realize how small those vents were but I bought a set of two so four altogether (I always buy parts in sets of two). Good thing I did because they are small but it worked. I made a little frame from some spare balsa i had laying around then glued all four to the frame too make a slightly rectangular shape then glued that to the bottom of the plane. I purposely did not inset into foam but rather carefully made a lip so the balsa frame would not catch to much wind but too also have just the vents and not the balsa frame flush with the fuse so it could catch more air. It actually is hardly noticeable. I figure a 2inch by 2inch vent would be better. They do come in what ever color you want (that product number is for white vents) I have seen some videos were TTE owners painted them red or black to kind of give it some color. Now in doing this if you ever want too fly off of water well you can't unless you glue the foam back. Where I live I don't have access to any lakes or rivers where I can legally fly an rc plane so it didn't matter for me. Sorry for the looooong post. But hopefully this helps you or anyone else who reads this. Fly safe and welcome to the hobby.

Awesome plane I have a few of the timber X planes I just got the turbo timber evolution the other day I love the top hatch and the hidden servo in the wings can’t wait to fly it this weekend. Great flying by the way 👍👍👍
@rchobbyandmoreeverydayisagift
Thanks so much for the comment. I hope you have a great maiden flight! Its been out a ton of times since that video and just performs soooo good. Its so agile and takes off , lands so good. Just talking about it makes me want to fly it more!! :) I have since moved the ESC out from under the battery and I'm getting a spare top hatch so I can cut a naca duct into it for some additional airflow when flying on hot days. Top Shelf plane!! :)

Thank you! NICE please let me know how your maiden goes and good flying! I was amazed how fast the TTEvo gets into the air! Love the flaps too! I have reverse thrust but haven't tried it. For context I flew the mini Aeroscout , sport cub s2 and Aeroscout prior.

Just get mine can’t wait for first flight
@rchobbyandmoreeverydayisagift
Good luck on your maiden and have a nice flight!! I just flew mine again after moving my ESC forward. On this little mod to mitigate ESC temps I added extra security to holding ESC in forward location with some glue and use toothpick to form a brace. In the cowling I used Tie wrap to secure the motor wires away from the outrunner motor.

Should have kept wing slats off for maiden bro. I'm ordering a second set of wings to have with and without the wing slats quite acrobatic without the wing slats. And yeah didnt need music lol

Hey there I gotta ask if you or anyone else reading this that have the evolution have the same issues. This is my 2nd weekend flying this new bird. And, whats happening is within 2-3 minutes of flying i get a High Temp warning. My ESC is getting as high 210 degrees. Last weekend flying it for the first time is when I had the problem it got so hot that the heat melted the glue where the battery sits in the plastic tray. No worries I reglued and continued to fly. New fresh battery and again 180 degrees within 3 minutes of flying. Could it be a bad Esc? Im running a 4000 battery. This weekend I cut a small hole in the bottom of the nose to allow more airflow but still got high temps of 180...
@rchobbyandmoreeverydayisagift
Hey there Terry! I'll check it out. I haven't flown my TTE in a bit so I took it off the wall this morning and I'll fly it soon . I have a temp guage so I'm interested to see the temps too. I only have 4S 2200 and 3200 packs for the TTE though I don't have any 4000mah packs available. I don;t think that would really matter but I see that if your hitting 200+ degrees that is excessive! I will let you all know what I find out.
@rchobbyandmoreeverydayisagift
I flew yesterday and my findings is with my thermal meter I measured 135 degress on the outer surface of my ESC (I had moved it forward as horizon hobby instructed to address the overheating issues) using 4s 2200 mah batteries. Moderate throttle sometimes full throttle but not the entire time. When I used a couple of the 4S 3200 mah packs I saw 145 degrees max when using a outer temp meeter. My telemetry says 180 was the max.

Nice conservative maiden flight. Smart. Were you in SAFE the whole flight?
@rchobbyandmoreeverydayisagift
@rchobbyandmoreeverydayisagift 2 года назад
For my very first flight yes! I did turn it off and tried my flight controls for the subsequent flights but when i did this I made sure to be very high altitude. Also when I did and was ready-fast to switch back to Safe.

Is this your first plane ? Or did you train in somthing else. I’m almost certain this will be my next plane
@rchobbyandmoreeverydayisagift
I did train and still fly a AeroScout and UMX Turbo Timber. I tried the mini Aeroscout and Sport Cub S2 as well but didn't really like those planes. Can't handle the wind as good and Sport CubS2 burned out its ESC twice on me! Turbo Timber Evolution is one smooth and capable flyer! I did choose to install the slats. You will love the plane! At least I do. :)

Come on ,you don't do a cg check!
@rchobbyandmoreeverydayisagift
Your so right!! I do now! That's me - a new pilot being too excited. I have learned of the importance of CG and check it now off camera and I tend to mark where the batteries need to be.

I cringe when I see pilots facing the prop while connecting or disconnecting the battery. Safe way is from behind the wing. FYI

this is 2023, we DO NOT need background music! every video doesn't need music like this is the start of the internet and we are all new to making videos, you are not an mtv producer or disc jockey ffs
