Great News!!!! Konami just added 7 more games to the TurboGrafx-16 Mini lineup today. Splatterhouse is one of them. So there are now 57 games in total. 58 for the PC Engine Mini.
@@almostliterally593 Support Konami? Wow, people forget quickly... I'll stick with my snes classic with all the best games ever made, and guess what... This is an emulator too, you aren't supporting the people who made these games anymore, they are long gone, well most.
In the future we will be able to custom order these mini consoles and select what games come with - but not until we're in our 80's or 90's. Well, that's what I suspect.
@SennaFan Well there's always keep the money in my wallet and just continue playing roms and emulators. I definitely was an early adopter back in the day when TG16 first released.
Yeah, It’s really strange that Keith courage is not on there. Because Keith courage is one of the most common games you can find for the TG16/Pc engine!
I would have like Legendary Axe, Splatterhouse on US side (as well as english Snatcher of course) and Valis, Legend of Xanadu and Tengai Makyou on the JP side.
I checked the japanese Amazon site and there is one different Japanese PC Engine title in the game list if you compare all 3 versions. The TurboGrafx-16 mini (US) and PC Engine CoreGrafx mini (europe) offer the same games, but the PC Engine mini (Japan) has Tokimeki Memorial instead of Salamander.
I sold my turbografx collection a few years ago and made a few thousand dollars. most of my buyers were from france for some reason. definitely buying this.
The only turbo graft game I got to play was Air Zonk at a toys r us way back in 1990. I’m definitely gonna pick this up to check out all those old games I missed.

Okay this is my thing: Snatcher can't be played with no English or the RPGs. The RPGs they can get away without being translated since they have the English versions on there. Rondo of Blood can be played without translation. A better experience translated but it can be done. Snatcher? Really? They really need to sub it to make it worthwhile. I don't know. They shouldn't had repeated games. Why do we need two versions of the same game? They need to replace those with three more games and just make them separate
I have most of the set of Turbografx and Turbografx Cd games so having those PC Engine games that I don't collect is actually a reason for me to buy this. If they are translated, even better.
No legendary axe?keith courage?splatterhouse?bloodywolf? Im stoked on the release of the system but not stoked on alot of the hugely popular games not being included
You'll be able to add your preferred titles to the thing real quickly so it's no reason to skip the thing entirely. I recommend sticking to maybe 75 games maximum though, don't dump the whole library into it or it's far too easy to just skip from game to game never really giving anything the time or effort it deserves
Hell, Id love to buy this just to play the turbografx version of Ys while supporting it. Never had the chance to play the originals and what better way to. That and Sapphire. What a crazy deal.
The original books Ys 1 & 2 (Turbografx CD) were so far ahead of their time as far as character development, mood, and atmosphere that it boggles the mind. I'm also glad to see them return to this mini console whether it has the voice acting or not.
I love games from the 8 and 16 bit era, but I've never touched a Turbo-graphix 16. To me this is a dream. All of the games are new to me. Looks awesome.
@@Retrosys Quite embarrassing considering Namco churns out their properties like candy. Hell, even the goddamn Evercade got Splatterhouse 2 and 3, and if that doesn't prove how stingy Konami is, I dont know what will.

Come on Johnny, that list is incredible! The overlaps don't bother me at all, there are still a bunch of fantastic games on it. I will absolutely get it, if I can get a pre-order in when its made available in the U.S.
I would say I'm a big fan of the Castlevania series but Dracula X is one of the few I haven't had a chance to play yet so that alone is more than worth it for me
Repeated games aside, that's a spectacular selection! I do miss Devil's Crush, Gate of Thunder and Final Soldier though... There's no doubt it will be hacked in like, a couple of days, and we'll be able to add back in any games it might be missing! Gosh, I want one of these so bad...
I worked at NEC TurboGrafx-16 in wood dale IL from 1990-93 and this makes me sooo happy and brings back so many memories. Shame about no Legendary Axe, Slaughter House, Bloody Wolf, and Devil's Crush was much better than Alien Crush ...would have also been great to get game It Came From the Desert...or what we use to call it, It Got Lost In the Desert because the game was delayed so many times haha. But still a great list of games and can't wait!
We need a follow up video with a short(ish) reviews of each game. With footage of the game preferably :) Would be nice to hear your opinion on each of them.
I never got to own or play a PC Engine in uk so I’m super stoked that this is getting released.cant wait to finally try some of these games and as soon as amazon uk has preorders up I’ll be putting my money down
Oh please just stop.... splatterhouse was one of my most LEAST played turbo games I had back in the day and I can guarantee that you get bored after 10 mins with it...

Wayne J. Svantner they can’t use Keith courage due to konami not having the Mashin Hero Wataru license which is Keith courage is based on. But it’s sad that there’s no legendary axe 1 and 2, splatterhouse and devil’s crush. At least this list is miles better than the ps1 classics
Keith Courage is like one of the biggest games that reminds me of that console. First game I played and it's not on the mini. Why didn't they bother getting the rights?
KEEVS the rights to Mashin Hero Wataru was from Sunrise (the people behind gundam) which means konami would need Bamco’s permission since Bamco owns sunrise.
Who's sitting around like, " YES! We need Gateball & Power Golf!". That aside though, the pics are good, and even better looks like Super CD, Super Grafx, and Arcade CDRom's are covered. So.... If we can load this thing, it should be solid.
To be honest I don't remember the PC Engine/Turbografx releasing in the UK at all so although there may be certain games missing the fact you have said that there's some great games on here has sold me on this. There's several I aware of that I've wanted to play for years so sod it, preorded 😊
I really hope we get this here in Denmark. :) Or at the very least, Europe, so that i can import it. I've never played the Turbografx 16, and i'd love to experience some of these games in a way that's not so.... questionable. :)
For Lords of Thunder, Akumajo Dracula X, Gunhed/Blazing Lazers and Super Star Soldier it's worth the asking price. Add the wonderful conversion of Ghouls N' Ghosts for SG and that seals the deal for me. It's so hard to find a working PC Engine and Super CD combo for less that five hundred now and Analogue don't seem to be working on a similar console.
Nice. I want this for the shmups. Itl be the 1st mini I ever cared for having since I never had the system. I'll finally get to hold that TG16 controller. Biggest plus, that turbo button, for the few games that don't have an autofire option.

This is the first time i'm even learning there's gonna be a TG16 mini. But no Legendary Axe makes me sad cuz that's basically my favorite game on the system
Look man I get the, "what about Splatterhouse," and, "what about Legendary Axe," questions but let's keep it real....this is THE BEST projected launch of any mini console I've seen in a very long time!! I haven't been this hype for a console re-release since the NES Classic! Whether you get PC Engine or Turbo Grafx 16 you're getting HuCard, Super Grafx, and CD games!? 50 games burr!!?? Plus the replica controllers, and the option of Multi-Tap!? Unless you're like Johnny here and have damn there the whole collection, you'd have to be a jackass not to pre-order or grab this at launch. Only reason I'm not pre-ordering this at the moment is because I want to buy the Link's Awakening remake for Nintendo Switch when it's released on my birthday. I want the actual box and no digi-download cause I love Link that much! :D
Legendary Axe is because of JVC being dickheads about their video game properties Bloody Wolf was made by Data East and their properties are all over the place
Great list! Would have been nice to see Splatterhouse and Bloody Wolf on there but VERY happy to see Air Zonk, Soldier Blade, Saphire, and so many others!

Let me first say that I extremely happy Cadash and Rondo made the list. They really needed to add Bonks Adventure, Splatterhouse, the Legendary Axes, Valis series, and Keith Courage. Feels inadequate without these titles.
Keith Courage is because the Japanese version is based on an anime, meaning licensing issues up the ass. Legendary Axe is because of JVC being dicks about their video game properties. Valis is extremely niche and I think Sunsoft owns that?
Looking forward to it, of course there are more games that would have been nice, but the lineup is a nice spread of games. Love the look of the European one.
😶holy cow this is pretty cool. Snatcher (hopefully in English as well). Never played, but heard fascinating things abour it. And only played Dracula X RoB, on a friend's imported console. PCE/ TG16 has a unique library. Bummer about thell list featured having some titles with only different languages. Still a treasure, worth the wait.
I never owned or seen a Turbo Graphix-16 in person but have heard of it! Rondo of Blood would be my reason for getting this but I'd be interested in the other titles too just as a gamer in general!
My guess is that the regional systems were only going to have 25 games on them initally, and then people started complaining they wanted games beyond the initial 25 so the developer decided to just put both sets on every version of the system. I'm really happier with this than having to buy systems from both regions.
Both Snatcher and Castlevania RoB are most likely the reason to me possibly buying the PC Engine CoreGrafx Mini system. I'm still 100% convinced yet to one, but who knows. I'm certainly keeping an eye for one at least, if it's on a decent price point.
Weird news but great news, there is a note in the Amazon page "Note: PC Engine titles in their original Japanese language. Some of 50 retro games containing select titles overlap in both the TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine lineup." so no English translation and yes some titles overlap.
Ghouls and Ghosts and Saphiure are the most surprising ones. I never expected any arcade card games like saphire to be ont here. and it is xcellent, I play it on my super sd system 3.
There are so many games I wish this had but so many that are out of reach due to asking price. In the end, I will be buying one. I'm trying to decide which (I live in the US so you'd think I'd want the TurboGrafx 16 Mini but the PC Engine Mini looks so good). I think I'm with you on my feelings on this. I'm happy it's coming out.
I'm gonna get the CoreGrafx, it's the version that's coming out in my region, and it combines the aesthetics of the PC Engine with the convenience of it being in english.
Pre ordered 3 of them. 1 for me and 2 as gifts. Im excited. I do wish Legendary axe and a few others were on there. But what a deal! Still my favorite system to this day. Just cannot wait.
I agree that it is an odd list, though good. I was just recently playing Daimakaimura on the SGX like a week or two ago. I'm glad they included that and Aldynes and didn't totally exclude SGX games. There are always a few unfortunate omissions from these systems. I see a number of good suggestions from others. I'm sure licensing played a part with some. For me, the biggest missing games that immediately come to mind are Magical Chase, Gate of Thunder, and Spriggan. I'm not as big a fan of Sapphire as others. I also wouldn't have minded seeing Dynasty Wars on there. I love that port(along with the arcade) for some reason. I never get tired of it. I'm sure I could come up with a few more big games if I thought about it. Also, I'm with you in that I'd go for the white PC Engine version or the grey Core Grafx. I picked up a few of those several years ago because I love the design of that system.
