I always find that food metaphors are apt ways to describe music. Rangstrom is one of those lab-grown hot peppers that make you need to soak your skin in water for hours on end after eating them.

I remember borrowing a recording of this volcanic symphony (under Stig Westerberg, iirc) from my Amsterdam library in the early 1980s and being blown away by it. Especially the final movement stuck with me forever. Is this the Segerstam performance?

The video from which I originally took the recording is not online anymore, but I'm pretty sure it was that... I don't even think there are actually many other recordings.

@@SPscorevideos One on CPO with Michail Jurowski, which is rather dry. And the old Westerberg one.

@@JohanHerrenberg I'm 99% sure the CPO was blocked, and this recording doesn't sound old enough to be the other one neither.
