5-6 euros, in Tavara Portugal, back in June for caps like that. Turkey used to be a cheap place to holiday back before the pandemic, but not anymore, we went back last summer and drinks/eating out were as pricey as the UK. Spain and Portugal from now on
In Hisaronu now. Turkish sim 😢 Card yesterday £30. Was £13.75 2 yrs ago. Supermarket still cheap, alcohol 80% tax last year . Beer still not £3 a pint, Effes lol. Chinese restaurant yesterday meal & Effes £14.
The worst thing about Bodrum is that they are pricing in Euros, they started doing this a couple of years ago and it is far more expensive, Obviously the Turkish Lira is on its Backside but for someone who has lived out there charging in Euros is wrong
I was interested in a leather waistcoat in the market. The stall holder asked 800 Euros, so I just took it off, as I thought that there was no point in negotiating. However, after some hard bargaining, I bought it for 30 Euros!
ALWAYS check the price BEFORE ordering ,, and in the bazaar only pay what you feel it is worth, if you dont like just try somewhere else, These guys unfortunately will always try and take the piss .. sad but true.. Been living in Turkey 20 years its a great place but just be aware.. Cheers
Another Lovely walk around Bodrum. 👍. I stayed in an Airbnb just off that shopping street. Really cheap off season. That McDonalds is seating upstairs. Staff are Very friendly. ✌
They are on you as soon as you walk into a shop they don't leave you along there is no way you can just walk around a shop and just look, my wife wanted to have a look around a shop no way they just keeping talking you like this ? you like this ? on and on my wife walked out you can't shop in Turkey.
The owners of my local Kebab house are from Bodrum always pleasant and good food. Although I would expect, with the fresh seafood, that you had some even better cuisine.
Don't go to the Blanca Restaurant, worse and most expensive meal we have ever had. Just read the reviews. The same lady encouraged us in. The wine was extortionate. The food was awful and a rip off.
Not been able to watch the videos there yet but hope you’re having a good one. If you’re still there recommend dukkan 47 for food. There’s a good bar that shows the footy in that market you’re in there too.
Bataring and haggling with the price, they do the same in China, especially for the tourists. Cloning will be the norm/fake goods usually made in poorer countries like China, Vietnam, and Dublin. A three-star hotel in East Lothian cost me £79.00 per night and did not include breakfast. It was in the winter and the blow air fan heater in the room had to be switched on every ten minutes by request at the reception. Slept in a cold bed in a cold room and woke up with cramps from the cold room. That was three years ago, the price will be at least double/treble that now. Unfriendly staff. They probably treat Rangers/Celtic fans differently. I was a European tourist.
