There are so many greats in the genre it took me a while to decide which one to do first. Turkey Shoot is a very sadistic and yet entertaining movie set in the dystopian future of 1995.

FYI, Brian May the now deceased Australian composer is NOT Brian May from Queen. I see people mix them up all the time. The composer died in 1997.

Haha, you're not the first Aussie I've seen to mention the Fosters thing. Do they not even have Fosters over there at all or is it just not popular? I had a similar experience as an American visiting Canada and being confused to see that they had fast food chains named "New York Fries" and "Boston Pizza", neither of which we consider anything special in those cities.

Australian here since Birth. Back in the 70's Fosters was a thing but its not as popular as it used to be thee days

@@fountaincap I tried doing a search on some of the major Australia liquor stores, and none of them even stock Fosters. The brand belongs to the same company as Victoria Bitters (VB), which is one of the most popular beers here in Australia. And on paper they're very similar beers (same style, same alcohol %), so I suspect Fosters might just be VB re-branded for the American market.

That's an MG42, not a 50 cal. You can always ID those because of the square barrel shroud. I saw the trailer for this a while ago, good to see the movie doesn't disappoint.

Love this movie. Growing up in Australia, this, Razorback, Mad Max, The Cars That Ate Paris were movies that I watched over and over again.

yeah well I am Always proud to be an Aussie and not the kind who kisses up to Americans or looks stupid in their over rated fashions. If an Aussie cant reconise another Aussie by the accent and they go by a fashion different for the person they clearly are not true Australians

I've heard of this classic sci-fi action horror thriller which later inspired Hard Target which convicts are cruelly hunted for sport. I remember seeing the old Roadshow Home Video VHS at a video rental shop with the Restricted 18 rating sticker on the cover.

I should mention that Fosters beer is very hard to find (especially on tap) in most bars in Australia and usually only comes in large bottles at liqueur stores. No one drinks it. It's all shipped internationally.

You and i think the same way about Australia. LOL. Plus The year of living dangerously. Love that movie. But i'm a fan of prison camp films. Anything to do with survival is the kind of genre i like in film. Plus i love the final shoot out.

I loved the Crocodile Dundee movie when I was a kid. I need to watch that again sometime I haven't seen it in years plus see ur not alone lol. This movie actually looks like a pretty cool movie I definitely am going to try to watch it one day director's cut at least lol. 😎

I know i'm a bit late to the party but: A) Pretty sure it was released (or was planned to be released) as Turkey Shoot in the UK because I distinctly remember getting freaked out as a kid by the poster when I saw it on the Underground in London B) The freak is played by the same fella who played Donk in Crocodile Dundee pts 1 and 2.

8:32 Nope not Queen's Brian May but an actual Australian composer of the same name. He did the music for Mad Max and other well known movies. This movie has some really good gore/death scenes.

i hate when movies have to be toned back for us US viewers, let us see the movie as is, just post a warning that says Warning: For Adults Only, Contains Severe Violence, Blood and Gore, Nudity and Strong Sexual Situations, no children or teens allowed.

+The Gaming Paladin Actually in the New York tri-state area "Turkey Shoot" was released Unrated with the "No One Under 17 Admitted" warning as "Escape 2000". I saw it the week it opened and ALL the violence including Thatchers death were there. I'm not sure which other U.S. markets got the Unrated version but it appears that Roger Corman decided to trim the film to get an R rating for the rest of the US release.

Dude.... Outback restaurant is a fake Australia-themed American chain restaurant that started in Tampa, Florida. I've never seen one in Australia. Aussies would laugh at the overabundance of kangaroo road signs, number plates, and boomerangs that cover every inch of the walls.

i recently saw "wyrmood: road of the dead", which was like mad max with zombies. not terribly bad, but pretty original for a zombie flick. which these days is hard to come by. did you do a society review? i noticed the clip in the opening title is why i ask.

Watched this movie the other night. Cheesy/sleazy as hell, but I liked it. The deaths of all the main meanies were very satisfying; they deserved what was coming to them.

@trachenburg It might be a regional thing as I know that the only unrated uncut version of Return of the Living Dead part 3 was released in Japan and Australia... considering Razorback is an Aussie movie it might only be available over there! Try seeing if you can't get it from over there!?
