If you have been wanting to try different foods, I highly suggest giving these Turkish Lentil Koftas a go. They are great for parties, very easy and inexpensive to prepare and loved by all. In Turkey these are called Mercimek köftesi or lentil köfte. They are traditionally eaten with lettuce and a squeeze of lemon juice. The recipe is pretty straightforward and I know will all love it.

Ingredients you need
1 cup red lentil cook in a small pot with 2 cups water
2 cups cooked millet
Salt to taste
1 tsp Paprika
3/4 tsp red chili powder
1 onion, chopped
1/3 cup parsley, chopped
1/3 cup mint, chopped
1/2 cup, chopped green onion (just the green part)
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp pomegranate molasses (optional)
2 tsp ground cumin
Lemon wedges to serve

To cook millet watch this video • Millet "Couscous" Salad
𝐓𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭, put 3/4 cup millet in a frying pan over medium heat. Toast, stirring often until you hear popping and smell a fragrant, toasty aroma, for 5-6 minutes.
Meanwhile bring 1 1/2 cup water to a boil in a pot or kettle.
Lower the heat and slowly add hot water. Since the pan is hot the water will splutter a bit so be careful. Stir in salt and bring it to boil. Cover and reduce the heat, simmer for 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat. Keep it covered and let stand for 10-15 minutes before fluffing with a fork. It can be made 1 day in advance up to this step. Refrigerate until ready to use.
