Thanks so much for the thorough and useful info for tourists! I was planning a Caribbean vacation for next year and Turks and Caicos was on the list is possible destinations so this was super helpful.
I love how you breakdown the important information for travel - this is such a great format and I find it helpful for booking to places I have no idea about - please keep this format up - it's great.
I’m glad you enjoyed! And I do plan to keep this format up! It will be after I finish my travel videos for that trip. So there will one coming soon for Paris and London!
This was very informative as always. Thanks for the heads up about the cash for taxis. I feel like it's always a good idea to keep some cash on you when travelling.
even though i don’t travel & never really thought about going there , I was tuned into this video . You had a lot of great information & very detailed. Love this 💕 …
Never been there, but the way you describe it it's a place I would to travel to. You provided so much information that is useful for any traveler going there. This was a great video.
I really do think videos like this are very Helpful. The does and don’t before you go on a trip which is very informative to have before you book. Would love to see more videos like this 💗
Great to learn you were able to travel to Turks and ciacos. I might not be able to travel there but I'm glad to have learnt about the island. Thanks for the insight
I'll be going here alone in about 7 days. Never been out of the country and never been on a plane alone. Just learned about all of the things I have to do due to COVID and I'm so upset but thankful that I stumbled upon this information on another video because I would have been banned from going. I just hope I get results and everything back quickly. I'll be doing my test tomorrow morning. On another note, I hope I find some eye candy to mingle with. I'll be 35 and single so I'm ready to get my groove back 😆. Thanks for this info!
I’m so excited for you! It will be a great time and there is some eye candy there. Hopefully you can find some! And I’m so glad you got the covid info! Hopefully your results come back soon! Enjoy your trip!
This was so informative! Although, this does seem excessive to actually go to Turks and Caicos, but it makes a lot of sense, being that it’s a Pandemic. We will be leaving the states soon and I’m currently trying to get everything together for our trip. Thanks again for sharing this information!
Yeah every country has different protocols in place for the pandemic right now which can definitely be a lot. And trust me this was WAYYYYY better than going to Bermuda. They had me doing the most and apparently there are more procedures in place since I went. Enjoy your upcoming trip and thanks for watching!
My friend came to me with this trip last minute but your video made confident in going next week!! I’m excited now knowing it’s a relaxation type vibe. Thanks for the video!
U want to take a trip out here. I feel more comfortable traveling now with my kids. You explained everything so well. You really be giving the scoop on these places which give telling planning and traveling so easy.
I haven’t traveled out of the country since the pandemic and wow it’s a lot that you have to do to travel to and from other countries which is understandable. Turks and Caicos is so beautiful I would love to visit there
This is so helpful. These videos are such a delight and so informative. I definitely know what I need to know before I plan a trip to the islands. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
Thanks so much for an informative video, it’s such a strange world we live in, and there’s so much we need to check and do in advance nowadays to go places.
This would be a perfect vacation spot for me. I need a place thats not a party location. Lol N i will def be bringing my repellent cuz i hate getn bit! Lol
I would’ve gone with the gold too. I also seem to attract mosquitoes. I’m going on a trip this year to a Caribbean Island and my dad warned me about the mosquitoes 😭 I can’t believe that gas was $5! This is literally everything that someone would need to know.
@@KitatheExplorer my trip was amazing!!! Thank you. It was safe, relaxing and the water was beautiful. This was my first solo trip and it wont be my last. I felt at home.
LOL!!!!!! And I need to know why mosquitoes like some people's blood and not others lol. I was with someone recently where I got bit 3 times and he didn't!
Loving all of your pointers! I hate carrying cash.. I mostly use upi or cards since its much safer... Cloves do repell mosquitoes so you can use crushee cloves in ur room, u can keep it in mind for ur next travel.... But I would definitely say u can't use it on ur body though.. I hate to drive when im on a vacation too..! We have alot in common
That is great you are trying to look for a scholarship to visit TC. Unfortunately I am so far removed from this. I went for tourism purposes. Without knowing what you are trying to go for on a scholarship (there could different avenues here), I would suggest working with your school and possibly looking at this website linked below. Do your research as I have not vetted this website. www.gov.tc/education/scholarship
Oh jeez...cash only?! Well I guess I would use cash for taxis anyway now that I think about it. Mosquitoes are the worst...I’m allergic so I would be a hot mess. I always carry repellent. Bike riding would have been fun but I may have gotten lost knowing me. 😩
Yeah see if I used a taxi, I would still use a card. I’m not a cash carrying person. And yeah you will definitely need bug repellent. I was so bad I wore it to sleep. And yeah I never thought of that, getting lost riding the bike. I would’ve had to make sure that map was downloaded before venturing out!
Thank you! And yes I did. My hotel (Windsong on the Reef) offered testing at the hotel in which I got back same day. And it cost $50. Some places may offer free tests or tests that cost more. It varies.
The test has to be an antigen test or a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT). And it can be rapid as long it is one of the two tests mentioned above. But be sure to keep up to date on current CDC guidelines as they are ever evolving. Check them out here: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/testing-international-air-travelers.html.
I bought a policy from Trawick International (their safe travels voyager package). I typically use a service to compare policies to ensure I have what I need by comparing policies and the plan costs. This is where I typically buy insurance: travelinsurancemaster.com/a?90f46536-0289-4928-bf90-9f0b4681a20d.
I have a trip booked and I am in absolute panic since they reduced the window . If it takes up to 2 days or more to get the results back how can you fill out the paperwork 24 hours in advance, do you have to put the covid test results on the paperwork or just show it at the airport. I will be devastated if I have to cancel and lose any part of my money. Kita any advice? HELP
Yes you have to submit the COVID test with the paperwork. Have you tried looking at getting a test specifically for travel. Those will cost but I would think they would be more mindful of the return (but be sure to ask).
You will have to purchase travel insurance which includes medical coverage. Your employer’s health insurance will not suffice in this case. TCI has listed recommended travel insurance providers here: www.visittci.com/travel-info/turks-and-caicos-coronavirus-covid-19. For me personally, I purchase a policy with Trawick. And I always use an insurance comparison tool to review the costs and what is covered between different before buying one. The comparison tool I use is located here: travelinsurancemaster.com/a?90f46536-0289-4928-bf90-9f0b4681a20d.
@@KitatheExplorer Hi, thank you for the informative video. It was very helpful. I’m scheduled to visit in June. I looked at the site you use to compare travel insurance and I noticed that they had several options for the Trawick International (Safe travels voyager package). How did you know which one to use and is it assumed that the travel insurance you purchase covers Covid-19 illness as it doesn’t say in the details? Also, where did you get your Covid test done as their does not appear to be a CAP approved lab in my area? Thank you for your time.
@@theladyj5036 I'm glad you found the video informative and thank you for watching! For the insurance, you want to make sure you find a policy that has medical coverage. COVID-19 is treated as any other illness as it comes to travel insurance (read more here: travelinsurancemaster.com/page/COVID-19). If you are using Travel Insurance Master as linked above, once the policies appear you will want to scroll down to the medical section. There you can scroll down and if you see a YES for primary medical that means it is included. If you need further assistance with using the tool and understanding the differences, please contact: 800-614-8505 so someone can walkthrough it with you over the phone. For COVID testing, I had my testing done to enter Turks and Caicos at CVS Pharmacy. CVS partners with one of the approved labs (at least the one near me). So you may want to check pharmacies or locations giving tests near you to see which lab actually tests the sample. Hope this helps!
@@KitatheExplorer I used the the Travel Master Insurance site and saw the program that you mentioned that has the primary medical. Thank you again for the video.
@@KitatheExplorer Did you use the Travel Master Insurance site to purchase the Trawick Insurance policy or did you purchase it through the Trawick International site directly? Does it make a difference which site you purchase it from?
So i freakin cant stand mousquitoes! Ima bri g that repellent. Cause they raise the money mad high cause they know i have no other choice to buy it lol turks and caicos is not a miami.. k heard uu loll the vibe is different i guess? My dream is to go to turks and caicos one day im definitely saving this for when i actually buy a ticket
Yeah make sure you pack the bug repellent so you don't end up spending $15 on a small can like I did smh. Yeah you can find some parties of course (or you can make your own) but you are definitely not going to walk down a street or strip and find parties back to back. And I hope you get to go one day! There was recently a flight deal on tickets to the Turks (may have expired) & Southwest has some flight deals there too (I believe today is the last day).
I love how detailed and informative this video is. I appreciate the fact that you gave us actual prices for various things from (transportation to money etc.). Yes, the Caribban does have mosquitos lol. I’m from Jamaica and I can tell you that we have them here, but they don’t bother us natives as much. And gas prices were high the other day. It’s going down now so I would gas is a little under $3 now.
Hey ,love your detailed review of the Turks . I am from Jamaica never been to that island before . Will be going there shortly 'work related' . What are your views on that ?
Hey! Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I haven't been to Jamaica and I'm from the US, so it would be hard for me to say how it is from an island to island perspective. But if you can make the most of your time, it is definitely an island you could still enjoy yourself outside of work times and work remotely if you want.
The requirements sound like a lot of the same procedure for going to a lot of Asian countries also. The mosquitoes would have gotten me to. I hate them.
Great video. Turns is soooo expensive. Nearly everything is imported. I suppose their soil is terrible. It’s a beautiful beach city. The turquoise water is breath taking. Good tips. Good point about capacity bc most resorts are open only 40-60%. Those deeded Covid tests!!!
This was so informative. You broke down it and explained everything so well. It's definitely gonna make it so much easier for the people planning a trip there ❤️
This tips are very informative and helpful not only to this place to visit but some are needed when we want to travel elsewhere. thank your for sharing.
You provided so much great information! Turks and Caicos has been one of the places that we’ve been wanting to visit!! I’m hoping to visit there soon hopefully when covid is all over!
I have been wanting to go to Turks and Caicos! We are traveling this fall so I’m so excited. I love that things are slowly opening back up so thank you for keeping us updated in the pinned comment!
You always give so much detail and insight girl. Always well throughout videos. I've only been as a child can't wait to make my way back as an adult lol
Thank you so much! And it’s crazy how much things change within a place and within your perspective when traveling as a child compared to an adult. I recently saw a video about Niagara Falls and I haven’t been since I was a kid. I definitely need to make a return. Looks different!
Omg I need to go there!! It sounds amazing. I actually never knew where Turks and Caicos Island was located until recently. This was very informative for when I want to go visit 😊
This is super helpful & highly detailed. Interesting that they don’t have Uber and Lyft services there. I would definitely rent a car but driving on the other side of the road would be a fun adventure to try LOL Love that you included the “is it black people friendly rating” ✨💜✨
I'm glad you found this video helpful. And I've actually ran to quite a few countries that don't have Uber/Lyft which is something we have gotten so programmed to use. And I'm glad you enjoyed the black people friendly rating! Thanks for watching!
I love how detailed and informative this video is. A woman of colour and sometimes travel without spouse it is great information. Only difference I would be traveling from Canada.
This video was very helpful and thorough! I forgot all about misquitoes lol been in the house too long! I appreciate you telling us about your experience, especially with things like calling ahead, curfew, etc. this is definitely on my bucket list
Girl I forgot about mosquitoes too which is why I didn't have bug repellent when I went there. I ended up spending $15 to buy bug repellent there. Thanks for watching!
Yes, I purchased the Safe Travelers Voyager plan from Trawick International. Also, I usually use Travel Insurance Master to compare plans (i.e. costs, what's included, etc.). Travel Insurance Master is located here: travelinsurancemaster.com/a?90f46536-0289-4928-bf90-9f0b4681a20d.
Very informative video!!! I’m from Atlanta and will be traveling there in two weeks for my bday! I’m so nervous about the whole process 😩 Just saw the update about the antigen test now being accepted but do they accept CVS? I read it has to be an accredited laboratory and I’m not sure if is…where did you get your test done?
This was very helpful thank you, did you get travel insurance just for this trip ? Did they accept your health insurance from the states or you had to change that as well ?
Health insurance from your employer will probably not work outside of the US. You can call your health insurer to confirm if it will. But don’t change it if it doesn’t as you will still need medical insurance in the US. But the Turks, is looking for medical coverage that is in your travel insurance policy. So yea I bought a separate policy to cover this requirement. I hope this made sense! Feel free to ask other questions.
The price per insurance policy can vary due to things like what you choose to have covered. But for the policy I purchased, it was $35.82 for the Safe Travelers Voyager plan from Trawick International. And I found this plan through a comparison took on Travel Insurance Master to compare plans (i.e. costs, what's included, etc.). Travel Insurance Master is located here: travelinsurancemaster.com/a?90f46536-0289-4928-bf90-9f0b4681a20d (affiliate link).
The fish fry is typically located in Children’s Park on Bight Beach on Thursdays. BUT the fish fry is still closed due to covid. If you want to keep track on when it is opening or not, visit www.visittci.com/travel-info/open-businesses (under the attractions, tours and charters section). Or reach out to Visit TCI.
@Martin It depends. I recommend searching Booking.com to find places to stay. But you spend a lot to more on the cheaper side. I stayed at the Windsong on the Reef which I enjoyed. See more here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-15a6JVs29X0.html. And flights, it depends on where you are flying from. A flight from the east coast of the US may be cheaper than the west coast of the US or another international location. Try look at Google.com/flights.
