Also a very safe and no hustling island. No time share presentations, spring breakers, or mass crowds..he isnt exaggerating , the best place to enjoy the beach .
@Searat I am not wealthy , it can be affordable if you shop it, willing to go off season, and not stay in a 5 star property. Our place had a full kitchen and we bought our own alcohol & made many of our own meals
@richard chapman why are you commenting on a post that is 2 years old? Stay off my comment and stay in your isolated bubble. Probably haven't even left your home
There are no words to do justice to the beauty of these islands. I’ve been a regular visitor for ten years and I still marvel at the breathtaking beauty- and the food. . . .OMG I’ve never had a bad meal here unless I’ve cooked it myself. ‘Somewhere Cafe and Bar’ is my favourite watering hole, right on the beach and a few steps away from a gorgeous reef and safe swimming. I can’t praise it enough. It’s absolutely unique, relatively unspoiled and incredible
Daniel Johnson I live in Grand Turk and it is NOT very dangerous. Yes as a typical country we have a few crimes, but Grand Turk is safer than Provo in my opinion. Speak facts or don’t speak at all! 🤗 🇹🇨
And your right on a few of my friends have died on provo so far by april of this past year i believe there were already ten murders for the year on a 7 mile island
@@AngeliaN649 Got held up at the beach at gunpoint yes its real lovely place to stay . How many people in your jail or prison ..Authority in the islands is a joke I do speak fact your not an off islander there not going to steal or rob from you i just happen to go by there on a cruise . I own a house in Provo
Yes the major shocker for me was the water. I couldn’t stay out of it! I met amazing people and went clubbing which was cool to experience in TCI! The cost of food was eye-opening! Other than that, Can’t wait to go back. Never travel on a Saturday or Sunday you’ll be in customs forever! Lesson Learned.
I wondered for a while what was meant by "TCI" and I realized all of a sudden that it was an abbreviation for Turks and Caicos Islands. I must acknowledge that that was the first time I heard about them. Thank you for that.Thank to you and your videos, I really feel like travelling in order to disco ver new ways of living and of thinking.
My wife, daughter, and I spent 10 days on T and C Island at the end of March 2021.Magical is an understatement! My first visit to the island was in 1987. I was 23 years old and I water skied with Jojo the dolphin right with me the whole way. When we came back, Gigi, my eleven year old daughter, and myself jet skied, parasailed, fished, and snorkeled. Note: We found that we got better pricing from a local to do all these activities than the resort we stayed at was offering. Also go jet skiing with Caribbean Cruises, while jet skiing, we visited Half moon bay (iguana island) and Shell island. It was a far better experience than going on a boat with 30 people. I know everyone has a different budget, but we had hired a local photographer to come with us three or for different days on our excursions and on the beach. The photographs and videos we have are PRICELESS!! just like the Visa commercial, and it was all done for hundreds, not thousands. We have already booked next years trip, but as for me and my family, when we are looking for a “beach vacation” there is no other island and sea like Turks and Caicos!!!!!!
Going there in 3 weeks. How strict are they with masks? Can you walk around town or the resort without wearing one? I couldn't wait for everything to go back to normal, I'm really looking forward to chilling on Grace bay!
@@phichi5488 No they were not strict at all with the masks, but as you would expect, when you go to the front desk or when you are in any shop or indoor location, you have to wear one. But if you are walking outside around the resort you do not have to wear one.
One good thing back in the 1980s the sky was pitch black on Provo at night so it was full of stars ! And the dirt roads and the old school-bus to the club !
Going to T&C next Saturday for two weeks, been several other times, yes its just beach and water oriented and yes its expensive. We have a rented villa so will do a combo of some meals at the villa and some eating out. I do travel with spices and condiment packets to avoid buying all that, so its just the main stuff and beverages to buy. Will rent a car, no problem driving on the left, done it lots.
There's also the Fish Fry that happens every Thursday! Lots of fresh food and music. And if you like beer you can take a tour of the Turk's Head Brewery and do a tasting in their taproom.
As someone from Chicago who's wrapping up a week long visit to Grace Bay, I'd add BUGS to the list!! Even with bug spray, every day we've ended up with new bug bites. My spouse and I are up to over 40 bites in total! I think it's in part because it's rained every day (at least for an hour), so I hear the bugs are more active when it rains. But seriously, if you come here in November, be prepared for itchy bites!
As an Islander this has been a long time problem because we have no proper drainage, and stagnant pools of water everywhere creating primetime breeding grounds. The mosquitoes to me are in abundance just like the foreign invasion and are equally annoying.
That’s our hurricane and rainy seasons , it’s bound to rain and have a lot of bugs . You should try visiting in the summer like May-August or your next best bet is very late winter like December and into the spring months .
That is really unlucky. Many people have reactions to Noseeum bites. They are small but very irritating. I’m surprised bug spray didn’t work- I’ve found they don’t even like the non-toxic stuff... I live here and our family seems to be immune now😎
I loved all you set abut Turks and Caicos. I lived there for ten years in the island of Providenciales. My son was born in Garnd Turk. I had a good time living the island time. It always bring a smile to my face when I remember it.
Loved Turks and Caicos one of my favorite trips. But please be aware cleaning a conch shell is hard work if you want it to be nice even if they clean it.
Solid video !! I deff want to go there now. Love your relaxed vibe and and comfort in front of the camera. Watching your videos is almost like having a conversation and less like I’m watching a informative video
I live here there is way more to do then just the beach and the reason things are so expensive its because all things have to be imported to the island... And taxi only have to charge you for the distance always ask for the price chart ... And rental is way cheaper ....
I'M HERE NOW! They 100% charge per person as the video stated. The island is also incredibly expensive, have been to both Anguilla and Curacao last year and this was by far the most expensive island.
@@itayyati123 no it's not. Do some research. That's a global business rule. Imports are always more expensive due to the travel costs and the fees levied by the government.
Have been here several times and will return . Best water of any island in the caribbean . My main reason to return is the diving , its what i live for . We stay at beaches resort . Northwest has the best dive sites while Grace bay is a shorter boat ride to some decent dives . If you have never been to Turks you owe it to yourself to make it here . Its not cheap , but worth every penny and the memories you will take .
If you rent a car, there are no traffic lights and no true intersections- just roundabouts. Signage for roads is sporadic at best. Road traffic is surprisingly brisk. I drove everywhere while staying on Provo and over the course of ten days I saw a total of two police cars. I always felt safe on the island and I spent most time on the beach, in the water, being thrown about by the waves. The beaches are among the very best in the world. The water was very clean and at the start of February, it took less than 5 seconds to comfortably adjust to the water temperature (no idea what it was). The beaches were not crowded and there are miles upon miles of them.
You forgot the KiteBoarding! Best place to learn and to enjoy the sport. It's at the Long Bay Beach 10min drive from where you are in the video. I also rented jetskis once and went on a 2-3h tour between the islands. It was on a low wind day (BEST) and the water was just perfect. Totally recommend! One of the best tours ever! I also did the kayaking to the Iguana Island. FUN!
Turks and Caicos almost became a Canadian province, and the idea was brought up again in 2014. But we have been trying to annex them for over 100 years now..
@@kkryptokayden4653 no way it can never happen why would they want to be Canadian it’s a scam just so Canada can place an income tax it’s better of being British 😂
Please be aware of the side effects of overfishing conch on the marine life! I'm not gonna be that Debbie Downer, but please do your research. It's already an issue in the Bahamas. Love your videos!
It is a problem in the bahamas because illegal poachers come in bahamian waters mainly from the dominican republic carry thousands of pounds of baby conch, grouper and crawfish being caught out of season.
We here in the tci don't fish our conch on a industrial level most fisher man use small dingies and boat and free dive for them vs the Bahamas with alot of huge fishing boats and 100x times more fisher men
I've been visiting every 6 months for about 3 years now with hopes to relocate. For a cost savings we pre-cook and freeze all of our meals. Bring coffee, juice, etc. Securily pack alcohol. 24 pack of Corona was $69.99, a pack of oreo cookies was $8. Thank God I don't drink beer. With island connects we get fresh eggs for the week. Hotel cost is expensive but it's such a beautiful island. Entertainers have always quietly visited. We were driven to a part of the island where you can see princes' house, now sold. We were leaving on Thursday, locals "fish fry night" and "Drakes" private plane was at the airport and the Kardashians came in that day also. All I could think of is the island will never be the same. For such a small island it gives you sooo much!♥️♥️♥️
Great video, however in regards to your second point, there are more than one island in The Turks and Caicos with each island having their own amenities. Grand Turk have a museum for anyone that’s wondering
First went there in 1988 dirt roads a tin airport building and no streets lights at all, took a old school-bus to the ClubMed ! love it because I sat on the beach looking at the pitch-black sky just full of stars. and we had JOJO the Dolphin on the beach.
WE ENJOY STAYING AT THE BEAUTIFUL ONE ON MARLIN VILLAS. OUR RECEPTORS WAS AWESOME AND SAW TO OUR EVERY NEED. AWESOME BEACH FUN EVERYDAY AT GRAVE BAY. LASTLY VERY EXPENSIVE ISLAND. GREAT VACATION ENJOYED THE NIGHT LIFE CASINOS.
We were there NOVEMBER 8-15 AWESOME STAY FOR RELAXING. ENJOY THE FISH FRY ON THURSDAY EVENING. MOST AWESOME BEAUTIFUL BEACHES. ENJOYED SEVERAL RESTAURANTS THERE ALSO.
I was there for my birthday specifically to relax at the beach and in that gorgeous blue water! I walked a dog at the Potcake Place. Great organization! Did you guys stay at Royal West Indies Resort? That restaurant clip looked familiar. I’m ready to go back🙂
We have in TURKS AND CAICOS, atvs, parasailing, jet skii, horse back riding, a lot of tours we have now. A lot to do.. I know this video is kinda old so. But ENJOY MY BEAUTIFUL HOME I CALL TCI
@@jessicam522 Hi Jessica. The best months are February, March, April. July. October, November and December. Lol almost anytime of the year. February and March are when the beach are the best. But lately that varies too. Let me know if you have any other questions! Enjoy when you come.
@@lousmith9005 Island Vibes! Or Caicos Dream Tours. They have half day and full day tours. They don’t cook for you on the half day tours but they provide snacks like chips, conch salad and a sandwich. That’s on a half day tour. Unless you do the full day tours which I think they do have actual food. They only have other companies that are private yachts and they have food for their guest. I know they are kinda book up this month. TURKS is hot this year. Hotels are gettin booked up and also tours. Try to book your tours and reservations before u come. Enjoy!!!!!🇹🇨🥰
I just went here 2 weeks ago and I will say I definitely recommend it. Everything he said is correct. I will say I would definitely get a rental car, there’s a ton to do and see and driving whenever we needed came in handy. The driving on the left was a little weird at first but you get use to it. Also, make sure your internet on your phone is ready for you to be outside the US. We only had WiFi to use so driving around was a little difficult trying to get around but we just used the map and figured it out pretty easy after a couple days.
Just got back. The beaches are beautiful. I took an underwater picture and if it wasn’t for a small shell in the pic, you’d swear I took the picture in a pool. Soft white sand, and the turquoise water is amazing. Went to Club Med. Don’t go to Club Med. I didn’t like the service there. The beach itself is what saved our trip. When we go back, we’ll stay elsewhere or rent a villa.
I was a little shocked about the crime there. The resort told us not to walk the beach at night or wear any flashy jewelry when going out. The rental car company told us that when you park in a lot to leave the windows down and the car unlocked with no valuables inside so no one breaks a window. Do your homework before going there.
I have not flown my plane that far south but just to the north is the Bahamas Islands and if you travel the remote Islands it is a find your own beach and not see another person day, Eluthera, Cat Island, Long Island,Great Harbour and many more. the deepest blue hole in the world 663 Ft on Long Island. Thunderball Grotto where the James Bond Movie was shot. Just give me a Kalik Gold My personal beach for the day and I'm good.

@@woltersworld thank you for the tip! they are really good videos but what I'm talking about is a bit different - not just show prices for stuff that you do at the time, but the expected prices for different kinds of hotels, transport and daily expenses, all summed up. I would like to do that, but I don't have the experience outside of Greece and a few European countries so my list is not long enough :(
My Island Home! There's slot more than going to the beach. There's an 18 hole Golf Course you can enjoy!Island Tours..there's a conch farm as well.It all depend on what you're looking for!
Very informative video! My fiance & I used a lot of this information to help prepare for our trip to Turks & Caicos. We had such a great time there in February! We just posted a video of our trip that highlights a lot of what you talked about :)
The service charge is different from the tip!! Sometimes restaurants there add a service charge that goes towards general service but it is NOT a tip so you should tip on top of that!
Little, tiny flying midges-a type of bug--with a mean bite. Lots of screens or nets, ,etc, are especialy made for no-see-ums, because they can pass right through a mosquito net or screen. They are that tiny! They live on the beaches in my part of Florida, too; our favorite state beach park was kind of miserable when we and our neighbors tried to sleep on the beach one Saturday, around 1960. It sure seemed like a wonderful idea. I think that there are so many noseeums because itis still a fairly wild area, with lots of mangrove and palmetto swamps for them to breed in.
Excellent video. It is truly as Wolter described, a beautiful piece of paradise with everything a beach lover would want.. If theres one downside to the place, and l hope the authorities make note: despite signs stating beach chairs are gratis, the front rows are controlled by local goons who will come over as soon as you sit on one of them to demand $10 per chair. No cops will intervene with these local thugs. Aside from this, it is a beautiful beach, white sand, pristine waters with fabulous views both over & underwater.
No sales tax hun, and no property tax, and no income tax.. but there is a 12% Accommodation Tax that applies to Food and Beverage, Accommodations, and Watersports/Excursions. That plus service charges in many bars and restaurants can be a wee shock the first time you dine out. But the food is fabulous. Everywhere. Come join us for some cracked conch and beer. I Ain Ga Lie!
Went there like 23 years ago when I was 6. Don't remember too much lol.... I really want to go but only on an all inclusive. It's too expensive other wise. It seems to have a similar vibe as the Cook Islands which is the best place ever! I really want to go back and recommend it anyone! There's a weekly direct flight from LA once a week... Maybe you Jocelyn could go... Stay at Sea Change Villas
Not to be rude but I’m from the Turks and Caicos Islands. Some of the things that you are mentioning are misleading and incorrect. There are 8 islands that make up The TCI, all producing their unique activities. There are opportunities to jet-ski in The TCI, there are zip-lining activities available in Grand Turk. There are many historical sites you can visit to learn about the culture of the islands. Every Thursday evening, there is an event called Fish Fry. Locals and tourists attend for an evening of local cuisine, bands, vendors and Junkanoo. There are lots to do in the Turks and Caicos Islands besides the beaches.
I hope you Went Exuma its a very beautiful 🐷 Swimming pigs , Iguana Island 🦎, You could swim with Nurse sharks 🦈, feed stingrays lol pet turtles 🐢 It’s so much to do and the waters are amazing
I would like to know who the next Canadian politician will be that is going to bring this topic back: “Hey let’s take the Turks and Caicos under our wing.” It’s been a few years since one of them has brought that up.
