0:00 Introduction: Is turmeric healthy?
0:28 How to boost the bioavailability of turmeric
2:10 Turmeric benefits
7:42 What is turmeric?
Let’s talk about the incredible potential health benefits of turmeric and how to increase the bioavailability of turmeric.
You can consume organic turmeric or take a supplement. If you want to take a supplement, it’s best to get a turmeric supplement and not just curcumin. Curcumin is only one of many phytonutrients in turmeric. It’s also important that it’s a freeze-dried supplement.
Black pepper or white pepper can help you increase the absorption of turmeric. You can also consume a small amount of fat at the same time for better absorption.
Keep in mind that the phytonutrients in turmeric are heat sensitive, so cooking with turmeric could make them less potent.
The two main areas of research for turmeric are inflammation and cancer. A lot of the direct benefits of turmeric can lead to various other powerful effects, and turmeric also has virtually no side effects.
Potential health benefits of turmeric:
1. It increases glutathione and other antioxidant networks
2. It has potent effects on the brain and nervous system
3. It has powerful effects on the cardiovascular system
4. It’s antimicrobial, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-candida, antifungal, antiparasitic, and anti-H. pylori
5. It shows great benefits for skin problems
6. It helps protect the liver
7. It helps stimulate phase-2 detoxification
8. It inhibits pro-carcinogens
9. It increases bile salts
10. It supports the gut mucosal lining
11. It helps protect the DNA and supports DNA repair and apoptosis
12. It protects the cells during chemo or radiation therapy and may increase the effectiveness of the treatment
13. It supports the endocrine system
14. It’s a powerful adaptogen

Turmeric is not strong ? ! Turmeric is a very strong and unpleasant smell and taste making it hard to consume it without letting it cook a little. Dock, you must be using some lab altered vachuous vegetables grown with chemical fertilizers. Don't blame you, that's how the world has become. Back about 2 decades ago, in the proper rural areas in my part of the world, foods were so intensely tasty and full of flavor, scent and other attributes, it was shocking. In the modern world, everything is bland and nutritionally lacking.

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitus3 years ago and prescribed ( by a specialist) a drug to minimise the symptoms. My system couldn't tolerate the drug and it's side effects. I approached my G.P who suggested I try Tumeric tablets as where he was trained ( South Africa) it is commonly used for all digestive problems and many other difficulties. I started on Tumeric tablets over 2 years ago and all my Ulcerative problems have vanished, along wth my Fibromyalgia symptoms. Strangely my skin has vastly improved also. I'm a 73 y.o. male. and cannot praise it enough.

Turmeric has been known for its medicinal properties in India for ages, it is part of the everyday diet. The Ayurveda (Indian medicinal System) which is around 5000 years old mentions its many uses in depth. Few uses of turmeric: 1. A spoonful of turmeric in a glass of milk helps heal inner injuries faster. In case if you are lactose intolerant you can take it with a glass of lukewarm water. 2. A paste of turmeric and honey helps reduce inflammation and heals muscle injury. 3. Turmeric paste is used to heal open wounds and burns. 3. Indian brides as part of a ritual apply turmeric paste to their body and face which gives a shiny golden look to the skin. 4. Powdered mixture of turmeric and Fenugreek seeds (meethi) helps reduce arthritis pain, and increases the body's metabolism.

In India, we use it in all foods and rituals. But also in some formulas that most of us don’t know. For eg: on 3rd and 5th day of monthly periods, we women eat 3 pea size balls of turmeric (even bigger) on empty stomach along with 2 big tablespoon of sesame oil to decrease inflammation in the body. Also, for body massages which is infused in oils.

I started eating eggs after watching one of your videos. I don't cook them plain. I cook them with one whole tomatoe (i peel the skin off), half bellpepper, blackpepper, half a teaspoon turmeric powder, cumin powder, garam masala, a mix of other spices that have garlic powder and other healthy spices. Sometimes, I add a can of tuna/sardines/salmon twice a week to get my weekly Omegas. I cook them in olive oil. It tastes yummy and healthy. I eat 4 eggs, but when I add the fish, I only use 2 eggs. Otherwise, it would be too much protein in one meal. The days that I don't eat fish, I add legumes or mix of beans (not too much). Overall, it's a healthy breakfast with lots of vitamins and good protein. If anybody wants to eat canned fish to save time, then 2 cans per week is enough and not harmful. I buy the sockeye tuna and wild caught salmon in the cans, either packed in water or olive oil. Few notes..half a tsp of turmeric powder is enough. More will deplete iron from the body. If you're in the west, you can easily find the spices at any Indian, Pakistani, or Afghan stores. They're healthy and makes the meal tasty.
@kmassie2857
@kmassie2857 Год назад
When I take it, I develop symptoms of iron deficiency. Tested it many times with the same results. Most common symptom is dizziness when standing. When I remove turmeric from the equation, symptoms are gone. I’ve looked it up and sure enough there are studies on this. Love the stuff and wish I could take it but unfortunately my body doesn’t agree. Worked great for my inflammation.

Indonesia has not only *regular turmeric* , but also *white turmeric* and *black turmeric* . Regular turmeric _(curcuma domestica)_ is used for cooking Indonesian food and for making _jamu_ or Indonesian herbal medicine to maintain good physical health. White turmeric is not as popular as regular turmeric. It is usually used for cancer treatment here. There are three kinds of white turmeric known here on the island of Java: _curcuma zedoaria, curcuma mangga_ and _kaempferia rotunda_ . The black turmeric _(curcuma aeruginosa)_ is not popular, either. It is used to rid the body of threadworm infections. These three kinds of turmeric are sold in traditional markets throughout Indonesia. To buy white turmeric and black turmeric, however, people need to order first. The herbal ingredient seller needs time to get those roots because they are not popular.

Dr. Berg is the best!!! He has confirmed so many things I've learned and incorporated instinctively in my lifestyle. I'm wondering does anyone that has been incorporating Turmeric and seen results have a supplement they like? Seems like white pepper and a little olive oil are helpful to intake with it.

I always thought and do think other health experts also allege that you should add black pepper or some fat, but here i get the impression that you must add both together. A clarification on this aspect from Dr. Berg appreciated!

I take turmeric everyday and it's great. Along with cleaning up my diet, I have really cleared up a lot of aches and pains I had when I was younger. My daughter separated her shoulder last year playing basketball. The average time to heal for that separation was 12 weeks. We gave her tons of turmeric and vitamins, took out sugar, gluten, and dairy, and she was cleared to play in one week. It helps that we have very clean diets already.

I 🧡 turmeric, I take 1tsp/day (ground powder, organic, raw). Works for everything, especially brain fog/fatigue/anxiety. It seems to flush my gallbladder as well; it releases the pressure in that area.
