The only thing better than a sitcom theme is a sitcom theme about sitcom themes. See our videos a month earlier at www.collegehumo... and follow us on / collegehumor
Wow! The writers at CH came up with something that closely models the parody of Miller/Boyett shows I've been looking to make! They should produce an updated version of this with a new cast member slipped in toward the end. A new lyric can be inserted along the lines of "The nerdy next-door neighbor who is sweeping the nation" or "The new famous cast member we hired to save the show from cancellation".
This parody is so spot-on and hilarious. Bravo! Still, I have to say I miss TV shows like this. Sure they were corny, but they put you in a good mood. I mean, if I want harsh reality I have actual harsh reality.
You nailed it! Brings me back to my childhood where I planted myself in front of the TV on Friday nights to watch the Miller-Boyett/Lorimar TGIF sitcom lineup.
90's sitcoms were all like this at the openers. everyone looks at the camera smiling. the joke is the music + the names + the fact that sitcoms were like that at the start
Familial Happening's "Turn and Smile" theme song , is a parody of mostly 80's and 90's sitcom TV shows such as Family Matters and Full House, but has a mixture of other shows as well.:) Good Times had the oldest son JJ who had the catchphrase, The Cosby Show had Theo as the only male sibling, The Parent Hood and The Cosby Show, tropical 5th season opening are the only shows I remember that had all of the cast members look at the camera at the end, like at 01:24. :D
lmfao!!!! omg this is so true! i thought i was the only one that noticed that kind of thing. i would look at family matters and see them do that and be like "why are they always turning to smile at us?!?!?" XD good stuff
Their names are great. Patrick Riarch Valerie Stayatome Danny Cachphrase Gruff Naibor Katie Thomboi Ashley Marketable Catherine Bookish LMAO every one of these is so true.
Their names all describe the common stereotypical characters found in these sorts of shows.... 'Patriarch, Stay At Home, Catch Phrase, Neighbour, TomBoy etc...) (and these would be the actors names anyway, so their last names would probably all be different on a real show too) :-)
