I just wanted to thank you for your videos!! So a little backstory, I am a 44-year-old woman. I rode a few small dirt bikes when I was a kid. No street bikes whatsoever! My boyfriend bought a Harley in June of this year and I subsequently got the bug and decided I needed to learn to ride. My boyfriend was very apprehensive about it but ended up getting me an 05 Honda Shadow 750 as a starter. The first time I rode it (before I watched your vids) I could barely get around the block! Then I started watching videos while I work and one of yours came on. I have since watched a bunch of them! The second time I rode the bike, I went to an empty parking lot and with all your tips in my head, I rode around in circles, practiced going slow and trust and believe. My boyfriend was shocked at how good I was riding! So thank you again!! I will start out my motorcycle journey knowing what I need to do and I am very grateful to you! I love how positive you are with the people you help! I would love to go to one of your training sessions but I live in Utah, so I will just keep watching your videos! 😊

Driving in the city, in my case Athens, Greece, with heavy traffic and general chaos on the streets, being able to stop while in the middle of a turn is absolutely essential. I have to use this technique almost every day. You never know what is behind a blind turn. Could be a pedestrian crossing the street, a car stopped, a pothole that can swallow you up, a dog running across the road, a schoolbus dropping off kids and anything else that you can think of!!!

Rob: I joined (paid) after seeing a single video from you. I watch and rewatch them now. Went from riding fast bikes in my youth to a 900 lb Street Glide at 61. Your videos are priceless. I practice slow riding in the Lowes parking lots and have gone from intimidated by my bike to looking forward to each ride. I live in the stop & go traffic of Southern California. This information is a life saver and confidence builider! Thank you for passing along a career of learning to others so we might enjoy a safer ride! Much appreciated!

I actually just recently found this channel but I have been practising the low speed drills based on Jerry Palladino's and Motojitsu's drills which are basically the same type of program. What I would like to say is that these low speed drills are put to the test EVERY day on the streets. Like I said, I live and ride in Athens, Greece where the traffic is herendous and the traffic policing at least extremely lax...You can expect anything from other drivers of cars as well as other bikers. The low speed drills are what insure my safety every day. I mean every day. You have a great channel and you are providing priceless information. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. I just wish there were guys like you here in Greece but there aren't. So, I just watch the vids and set up my cones in empty parking lots and on dirt and practice!!

I love your channel sir. So much good info that is easy to understand. You are exactly correct in that 98% of riders are not proficient in slow speed riding. You'll laugh but the turning point for my slow speed proficiency came at my first trip to Sturgis. As you know, any in town riding at the rally is very slow. It made me a better rider and significantly improved my ability and confidence at slow speeds. Keep the info coming I am learning a ton. It's amazing how much I didn't know until I started watching your channel...LOL

I can't believe I was just thinking about this yesterday. When I stop in the friction zone with the throttle loaded and pressing on the rear break it feels more stable. I also recommend covering the front break when you take off. I was going straight with a line of traffic to my left a car came out of nowhere Thrue a break in traffic ( Intersection.) To my left. Because I wasn't covering the front break at 15 miles an hour all I had was back break sending me into a slide not stopping. Had I covered the front brake I would have easily stopped. From now on as soon as the motorcycle starts moving I'm not only covering the rear but the front break as well. Thankfully it was only a close call. No way did I have time for the front break without it covered. Hopefully you get my point. Thanks for all you do.peace

you make me annalise how and why i practice the way i do. one of the things i like to do is come to a complete stop at stop signs and see how long i can stop without puting a foot down. the way i approach a smooth stop ( even with my 90# pit riding with me is alittle diferent. as i downshift and slow by the time im in first im on, almost all the time just the rear break and im not really keeping the bike at a faster idle but its up more because of the way I've stopped. i find when im at a stop with my feet on both boards revving a little ,moving ever so slightly in and out of said friction zone and cocking my wheel alows me to stay stopped longer. also being on a slight incline seems to help but i dont know if thats just in my head.

Just wanted to say I tried the smooth stopping tip of applying rear brake while keeping throttle loaded.. it freaking works! No more waving front handle to bar. Little hard not wanting to grab the front brake but I'll practice. Good tip 👍

Good advice! This is the kind of random "what if" stuff I try to think of and practice when I'm on "my" practice range. I've found going to practice is good for helping to decompress after work. Just me and "Vinnie", working those handlebars lock to lock on the empty asphalt parking lot.

@@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle I was thinking that applying the front brake would affect the stopping as you mentioned in your vidio,s the tendency to drop you bike at a slowing to stop the bike especially when making turns . Thanks for your answer. Dan R. P.S I have allott of respect for Our Philly and local twp. Motorcycle cops. and seeing your presentations just reinforces it.
