you're such a hero!!! that's so cool! I have a 4th gen Sport and even though they're more expensive than the Laramie I considered as well (in Europe), I did not get features like tilting mirrors in reverse or memory seats. the memory seats I don't really care about but the tilting mirrors would really help when backing into a spot, cuz the lines just disappear immediately... this would be GREAT!!! Thanks! sorry if my English isn't the best
Hey man I tried it on my ram I got a 2015 ram 1500 sport with the regular mirrors and I did everything u said and even let it sit for 5 minutes and it didn’t work. What should I try now?
Yea for this to work you need the chrome mirrors from a Laramie or higher I have the plastic ones and that option doesn’t work I tried it on my buddies and they worked fine
I have a 2022 RAM 1500 DT Laramie that has this feature installed... Great!... however, when enabled, the side view mirrors do not tilt down "slightly" as described in the manual, but all the way down to the fully tilted position. This is a worthless setting as all I can see is the pavement. What if someone is walking by or there are other obstructions? Use the backup camera you say! Why can't I set the position of the reverse mode to a place that suits my needs and have it be saved like the driving mode has memory? I want to set the mirrors to see the bottom of the rear tires in the bottom of the mirror's view while still seeing what is approaching such as a curb, lines, or parking bumper I am backing toward, as well as a little beyond without having to look at the backup camera's monitor! This would also apply to parallel parking in the street. With this setting disabled, I can of course manually (with the switches) lower the mirrors (one at a time) to the view I want, but that of course means that once I go back into drive or park, the mirrors must be reset to driving mode which defeats the purpose of the memory mirrors! DOES DEVICE AND THE ALPHAOBD APP OFFER THE ABILITY TO EITHER SET THE BOTTOM POSITION ONCE TO THE FDRIVER'S TASTE, OR BETTER STILL ENABLE THE MEMORY FEATURE FOR REVERSE LIKE THE DRIVING MEMORY DOES? OR does anyone out there have any thoughts on activating this option?
@@WorkingOnStuff Thsnk you for repeating what I said... That is my complaint! But wouldn't you think that since there is a setting that determines where the tilt ends that it could then be adjusted (even if it were a permanent adjustment)?
Couldn't get this to work on my 2018 Big Horn. It has the power folding, turn signal, puddle light mirrors (Not the tow Mirrors). Idk if that matters. Was really hoping this would work. The option shows up on my radio but doesn't work when in reverse.
It could be the obd adapter. AlfaOBD recommends the OBDLink MX. I tried both this one and the blue one to get the back up camera delay to come on and it wouldn't work. I replaced my RF hub installing a mopar remote start. This is something I had the dealership flash, which shut off everything I turned on using AlfaOBD. I went back in and turned it all back on and now I have the back up camera delay setting in my radio. I'm not sure why it didn't work before. Maybe try it again in a few days?
Will this setting not work with the normal mirrors that do not have the turn signals or puddle lights? My mirrors are power and heated, but that's it, and when I tried this process, I am seeing the option to turn it on and off, but my mirrors do not dip when turned on, and the doors memory present to "yes"... am I missing a step?
It might not work with regular mirrors, but the turn signal and puddle light shouldn't have anything to do with it. If it does not work, you could try turning on the tow mirror present and see if that does it.
@@mpbclutch33 No, got the new mirrors on and got the signals to work, just not the puddle lights... I gave up trying, and might try again if I find a video that goes a different route than the other videos teach
So I have a 2012 ram laramie, the puddle lights turn signals and heat didn't work from the dealer. I have the odbcheck ble+ by veepeak. Went through alfaodb to get heated mirrors, turn signals and tow tilt to work none have any advice I can do to make these things work cause the app ain't helping.
I bought my ruck used, and it had an aftermarket camera. I took it off and put a factory mopar camera on it. The difference between them is the factory harnesses were already on my truck, so I was able to plug it right in. The quality is better, and my guide lines move when I turn the wheel. The factory cameras are cheaper quality, you have to cut wires to install, and the guide lines do not move.
Thank i bought my 2013 slt used but found a killer deal on a 2019 classic tailgate with factory camera, but my slt doesn't have the harness only for the unlock and lock of the tailgate....
@CASPER95150 Valencia you might be able to make it work. The main thing would be your radio. Whether or not your radio has backup camera functionality. If it does, you can either buy or make a pass-through harness.
If your mirrors are motorized, it should work. There might be something else you need to turn on. Or it might take a day to start working. There have been somethings that I have turned on that didn't work right away, but then started working. You could also check the Ram Forums.
I got a 2012 ram and bought some side mirrors with turn signals, put them on and used the obd2 veepeak scanner and when I try to activate the side mirror signals or any other setting I keep getting a message saying "Procedure completed but status is unknown. The control unit did not confirm the write request" Any idea why?? I used it on my brothers 2015 ram and it worked fine
I upgraded my mirrors to tow mirrors. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pr2_15-TLms.html The alfaOBD programming starts at 12:00. It should definitely work on a 2012. You might want to reach out to AlfaOBD. www.alfaobd.com NOTE: If AlfaOBD can not connect to a car ECU with the message "Interface reports NO DATA" or "Interface reports CAN ERROR" it most probably means your interface is not compatible or defective. I have programmed so many items on my truck and only had the message you're talking about once. But when I went back, the feature I was trying to turn on did get turned on. Also, the modules in your doors may not be compatible. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
@@bearcagle I didn't think about reaching out to Alfa obd till you said to. They told me to try a different scanner and I did and it worked right away, so thanks!! Dealership told me it would cost me 300 to get it to work, so I saved a bunch of money thanks to you!
@@casp3r562 awesome! Glad to hear. I have turned on so much with that app. I just figured out how to turn on my day time running lights today. I'll post a video of it soon.
