I have a 2012 Ram 1500 , i bought the app been using it with a android tablet , it doesn’t seem to offer much for my truck, could you tell me what this app offers older trucks like mine i would appreciate any direction ,
@@josuevillanueva3016 it won't work on newer ram trucks, the ports locked. search for alfaobd ram trucks on youtube theres a video showing how to unlock its obd port using a special cable.
Great info. I ordered the MX+ on Amazon and got it overnight and downloaded the Alfa program to my laptop and was able to install and program a used replacement ABS module that I got on Ebay in about 3 hours (including beer breaks) today. And now I have everything I need for next time. Thanks for putting this out there.
I wish i can find option to use amber front and taillights when open door just like Ford has it. To me that's clever idea to stay safer at night. I was almost deciding to use relay, control wire it on mirror lights and put first light switch position on it's contact points...i would like to also remove forced ac on when blowing on windshield and disable all switching to default after climate or engine start, those things drive me nuts, i set fresh air and it gets always reset to circulation with every engine start
I also was able to use Alpha OBD to turn on the factory backup camera option on my stock 2015 ram stereo and connected a $65 amazon camera kit to it via pins #31 for camera signal and #32 for rca shielding signal..
I have a set of summer tires with TPS sensors. They are RAM rins and sensors from a 2013 RAM. My truck is 2016. What do I need to do to get the truck to recognize the second set of rims? Thanks and I really appreciate the efforts you go through for the videos. K.

Hmm, I know on the newer (14+ maybe?) the lows and highs stay on together. You would be able to use a relay to accomplish this, but I'll have to see if there is a way through alfa to do this.
Great video. I have been looking for information on this. Will these work on the 5th gen new body style? And besides the reader and tablet do you need something else to get the obd to bypass whatever is needed to get to work?
You can update uconnect easily. Check your vin for updates on the website, download the update on a thumb drive then go put it in the USB port in the car and install. I’ve done twice since I’ve had my Chrysler 300

No, will need android to adjust settings. iPhone app will just let you see gauges and error codes, but nothing alfaobd offers or any settings like that

My 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT (8cyl) is stuck in limp mode and cannot switch the gear knob to anything. I have also replaced the throttle body. Will this device fix the transmission lightening bolt and relearn the throttle body I purchased at Auto Zone????? Seen some OBD2's on Amazon for over $200 but will this device you have do all I need done????
Charles. You talk about programming a fob using ALFA obd and obd link. I have a 2015 Ram 1500. I bought it used and it only came with one fob. I got a brand new 5 button fob off eBay. I also have the 4 digit code from the dealer. My Ram fob has lock/unlock,panic , remote start and suspension lowering. I can’t seemed to find a video describing how to do the programming using ALFA obd.
I actually kept scrolling and found my answer in another comment. Only difference is I have a push button start. With the key fob walkthrough on the forum it showed using the baseline system but I had to use high line system. Then I had to actually start my truck from the inside to reset my remote start. It was very easy.

Hello, I installed aftermarket LED headlights w/daytime running light halos on my Canadian built 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The DRL halos work when the car is in park, however, when the car is in drive the high beams come on. Will the AlfaOBD/OBDLink MX+ allow me to program the headlights so the DRL's work properly when the car is in drive (ie. the high beams don't come on)? Thanks.
Hi Charles, great video by the way. I currently own a 2018 1500 express and recently switched to a 7 inch EVIC. Prior to this I never had any error codes but once I made the switch I begin getting a parking and brake light out code. I was surprised to discover that my alpha OBD showed my truck as having LED taillights. So I decided to change the rear and the license plate to LED settings. Still I continue getting the error codes. I changed everything back except for the tail lights. Same issues… Error codes.I read somewhere that I could change the rear DTC and disable it which I did, and still nothing. I’m at a loss. The only thing I can think of is keeping the DTC off and changing the LED taillights to a no setting. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes Sir. Did the following, Led taillights Led license plate, Led rear turn lamps,, Led reverse light, Led Stop lamps. Nothing worked. I finally used the Rear DTC drop it helped but then once in a while when backing up I getting “back up light out.”
Got me stumped. The only thing I can think of is trying different leds. Are these factory led tail lights you've got? Also, check the 3rd brake light on the cab above the bed...
Have a 15 2500 tradesman and I'm getting the following message with the OBDlink mx+ any advise I'm told this is a AlfaOBD software issue not the OBDlink mx+ device. If AlfaOBD displays a message "Interface reports NO DATA" or "Interface reports CAN ERROR" when connecting to the car ECU, this is most probably a sign that you have one of these defective interfaces. Such an interface might work fine with other diagnostic software using OBDII/EOBD protocol, but it can have issues with AlfaOBD because of a different diagnostic protocol used. It is recommended to use an ELM327 interface tested with AlfaOBD.

Great Video I have a 2018 Ram Laramie 1500 and installed the Factory Trailer Brake Control Module, I have the OBD Max+ and the Alpha OBD on my Tablet and I hope the correct module bypass cable, not certain where to go and how to get truck to recognize the trailer Brake module, I put my Snap-On scanner on and it indicates data when I move the slide and push plus or minus, so I know it is there, I need instruction on Alphaobd module set up. Would this help I just added tow mirrors to my 2017 SLT but signal lights on mirrors will not turn on but they do move with button will this help me with that?
@Charles Pages 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee...would this device help me to reactivate my door locks that stopped working, or at least show me a code or device that needs to be replaced? Left rear tail light is out as well...all the fuses and bulbs are fine...would this AlfaOBD allow me to see what's going on, or even tell the computer to reactivate the relay (wherever that is!)
Can someone help me out to enable settings on my evic I have 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually 6.7 diesel. Recently I was able to turn on my trailer brake control on. Now it shows on my evic, but the only one that won’t appear is the settings. Here is what I have on my evic : Speedometer Messages Set up Trip a and b Info Tow But I’m missing settings I did it with the alfaobd , all I want to know under what category I can turn on setting so it will show on my evic. There are some cluster settings in alfa, I'll have to take a look where though. Have you checked any of the radio settings? I know my trailer brake stuff shows up there too.
Hi, thanks for the vid. I recently took my 2013 Ram2500 in for a few recalls. Ever since then I have had a few error codes and erroneous behavior from the truck. I think one of the things they did was some firmware upgrades. My truck has the EGR delete, i think maybe they screwed up my programming. The code I am getting are : U010c P0841 P0870 P0740 Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.
I'm confused. In the video you state the mx+ works with alfaobd app but the text in the top left in video says that it doesn't work with the alfaobd app

Hi I have a question, I’m having major issue. I read the directions to add a new key to my truck followed the steps and now neither key will start my truck. 1st the truck started then died. 2nd the truck wouldn’t even crank over at all. All lights come on and work. I was told I bricked my win module. Anyway to use the same module without having to pay the dealer a arm and a leg to fix it? Please any help would be appreciated.
Hmm, who said it was bricked? I’m guessing it somehow cleared out all the registered keys, but I’m unsure of how to add them back…haven’t tried making another key yet. Lmk
My speedometer had stopped at 621,369 miles, any idea how to get them to start working again? Cummins forums I have a lot of complaints about the odometer stopping there, apparently that’s 1,000,000 km and in Chrysler genius they can’t figure out how to roll the odometer.

If only the gauge cluster was digital, it could keep going past 621,369! Oh wait, it could... I’d just set back to 0, OR figure out how many miles past that you’ve gone and set it there. What year? That is a ton of miles haha
All good. I just went looking for it and only found Alfa and had to make sure it was the same thing you were referring to. This is going to help me a ton because my local dealers refuse to help me with my TPMS on my 2016 Power Wagon. Now the question is how much of a hassle are they going to make it getting that Pin#.
Hopefully you didn't have much of a problem. I was expecting them to be frustrating and was prepared to bring a crying baby into the building until they gave me the code. Turns out they were super cool about it haha.
Anyone had a tough time getting their PIN from dealers? I've called 5 local dealers asking if I bring that stuff in if I could get my PIN. All 6 stated they can't do it?
@Mike C lol that's how I felt but they all claim they don't have the capability Yeah mine was definitely the correct PIN and used alfaobd to make TPMS and tire size changes
Hopefully I get a response back to my question I am wanting to buy one but I’ve got a few questions. Can someone tell me what the differences is between the MX and the MX plus? And also I’m assuming that the app is $50?
App is $50, the plus can connect to ios/apple but it CANNOT be used to run Alfa (which only runs on android). So you can still use your iphone to view engine stats and stuff-just no changes or access to alfa.
So what's the difference between the one that costs 50.00 compared to the one that costs 100 in the links? And I'd need to buy this along with the app right? And that's it. I got the code my tail light is out from switching to LED
if you have an iphone, get the mx+. You can't program anything with your iphone, but at least you can use other obd apps to see engine parameters and such. The obdlink mx, the alfa app, and a phone/tablet are all you need to get rid of that error/light out code.
@@chazpages thank you very much for your reply, I have the note 8 by samsung, so I should be fine with the cheaper version, i tried to do alot of research last night on it and the cheaper one should be fine then it seems, but just running it by you one more time before I buy, that's fine then right lol!!

Is there a way to add the on/off toggle for DRL's into the Uconnect 8.4 NAV screen menu for 2016 RAM 3500 (US) like what is available on Cherokee and other models?

Huh, I don't even know how it got to that point. When I entered a wrong pin once it didn't go through until I entered it right. Are you able to clear codes in engine/pcm and get it going? Which step did you get stuck on, and what happens if you try to redo everything?
Where are you trying to clear errors? Try in the ABS section. Also, try doing all the TPMS stuff, but skip the actual changing of the pressure. Don’t even go to that screen. Just follow the steps after that part. What two things at once were you doing? Next thing to do would be to look at the log and see what was changed.
@@chazpages Thanks so much for your helpfull videos. Backtracked what i did yesterday according to your tire size video. That was the problem. Doing 2 things at once and got lost. Thinking 1 was related to the other. Trying to do TPMS code did not work they gave me. After that i tried to also do the tire size and apparently got confused there. Only performed half the procedure. Thus putting my truck into crazy mode. No matter what i could not clear the faults due to half the procedure being performed. Sorry for the long response. Thanks for all your help and very informational videos.

Based on my research, others have had luck-not sure to what extent of programming, but I've seen lighting mentioned as being something you can change. This was just a quick search though, so I'm not sure and I don't have a truck I can test it on.
I just added the tailgate Oem camera to my 18’ 1500 sport and now the screen is black after cycling uconnect, ram logo and SIRIUSXM. Hope this is normal but it did say you have to have dealer flash to work. I’m guessing this will do that instead plus more?
