Time to start fitting all the goodies to the boat to make it a real fishing boat, we work on fitting all the external equipment, including our ‪@scanstrutltd6804‬ Deck Pod, our Raymarine Chartplotter, and finishing the boat with everything we need for fishing using ‪@RAILBLAZA‬
Not long not until we head off to enter the Sea Angling Classic Fishing Competition, will the boat be ready in time?

I am in the USA, 75 years young and a retired engineer. I am so delighted with your efforts on both your projects. Superb job and more important is the way you respect, support and love one another. Bravo you two wonderful people and keep up the wonderful work. Success!

and an anchor, chain and rope, bucket, torch, flares, fire extinguisher, or a slab of beer in cans as they make great fire extinguishers. plus the real important thing like coffee maker, cooler box to keep the fire extinguishers cold. ya gonna need a bigger boat lol. I really love this boat it looks so modern and streamlined you must be so proud of yourselves. you are both great at whatever you do. luv yaz. Steve

Just a suggestion, stair step your rod holders, this will spread your lines apart lessening cross over tangles. Rod holders while trolling or drifting with bait if stair stepping is done will also allow out riggers if you get a set to function properly. And add safety straps to secure your rods to the boat. Put antenna bass on starboard if radio is on port side, reduces feedback and it is required.

Very cool stuff. Loving it so far! On the antenna mount, you might consider adding a backing plate. It will help spread the force if the antenna gets to moving alot due to rough water, big wake from other boats etc. It will prevent wear and tear on the cabin roof.

Gemma and Simon, I know it's a little late on the cup holders up forward. But, they make ones that swivel which are much better for boating IMHO. Used them on my small skiing runabouts in the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta when I was younger. I'm 68 now and don't ski anymore. Just a thought. Great job on the old boat so far. I wasn't sure how I liked it early on 🙀, but now I think it's turning out great! Keep up the fantastic work! 😺😺

Hey Simon, Like you, I’ve always hated drilling holes in a boat, and I’ve had to do quite a few. Drilling hols in a deck is one thing, but drilling holes in a hull is another, especially the transom or below the water line. Any hole you make in the transom is an entry point for water and rot. For mounting things below the waterline like transducers, it’s better to adhere a pad (slightly bigger that the footprint of the mounting bracket) of 20mm thick polypropylene to the transom using a quality sealant, then mount the transducer to that. Just a clue for future reference. Cheers Bloke!!

Don't you just love those Railblaza products. Designed and manufactured in Kiwiland (NZ) also Scanstrut is such a quality range too. When you were Sikaflexing your exterior fittings I don't think I saw any sealant going on the screws. Potential for leaks round the screws as they loosen up with age. Inside the cabin, nice to have dome nuts over those protruding machine screw ends - looks better and will save you some skin when you bump against them. To the engine and steering wheel add two nice comfy swivelling pedestal seats.

Great stuff, the bungs. Yeahp you will need those, you tend to leave them out when you are on the hard standing so the boat doesn't collect rain water. I would elevate the hitch as well to be sure the water goes out the back, if you forget then the hitch is too heavy to lift with the water all up the bow (been there). AND the principle point. PUT THE BUNGS BACK BEFORE YOU PUT THE BOAT BACK IN THE WATER. Can't tell you how many times I forgot, even left the bungs at home once. The phrase " aye mate your boat is sinking" comes to mind!

Every through deck fitting should have a backing plate. Especially cleats and items where there will be load. Otherwise the fibreglass will flex and leak, then fail.

In the US that White light on a fishing boat goes on the rear of the boat with a green light and a red light on the front so someone over taking you sees the white light and someone approaching your frontside knows which side of you they need to go. Besides that yall are doing an amazing job with your repairs and so on. Only missing the biggest thing is a motor we had a 115hp rated bass boat and we put a 150 on it. Lemme tell ya it would push your eye lashes back into your eyes!!!

One thing to think about with the antenna is that it needs to be mounted vertically for best range. Most of the radio signal goes out at 90º to the shaft plus or minus the spread angle due to the dB gain of the antenna is.

Do you know what size motor you need?? I believe either a 100 or a 150 would be about what you need. Yamaha is the best outboard you can get. They rarely have any problems. I noticed my lady is still looking great ❤ take care my friends 🇺🇸👍🙏

fantastic boat! I really like to watch how you turn seemingly uninteresting things into an object of admiration and desire! I don't remember if you mentioned whether you would do interior trim or not! but if not, then I recommend cutting off the extra length of the bolts sticking out on the ceiling and putting protective plastic caps on them for the nuts! to reduce the chance of injury!

Looking great. My only suggestion would be to put some type of shroud above the ipad so that it will cut the glare. If the sun is behind you it won't make much difference, but at other angles on a bright day it could mean you could see what's on the screen. My idea of fishing is to find a shady tree on the side of a river, have a good nap, then go down to the fish and chip shop and get a feed. Cheaper, quicker and guaranteed of results!
