And that’s saying something... because I already have a completely signed poster of a movie I worked on, and we won best movie and best effects (yay!!!) for. And it’s still collecting dust :)
Well I've done this but unfortunately it won't work I can see the bios on some screens but it appears it won't support the VGA signal from old computers😢
Fantastic idea! I too have an old iPad 2 that I would love to repurpose the screen . Question…you didn’t show audio with the monitor/ipad screen. Does it come from the screen using the controller you showed or would I need to find another way of getting audio from my source?
I've used another revision of that board and it does have it. If that version doesn't then you can update the firmware with an arduino or raspberry pi to have it
I finally got mine from Alibaba. It's working great on my iPad 1 screen. but the aspect ratio is not 16:9, so the image looks squished. I've found no option in the menu but the board have jumpers. I'm wondering if it can be configured moving the jumper on the board. I can't find any documentation. Have you figured it out?
Any way to power it using USB c? I travel a lot and for work I need 3 monitors, I was thinking about a fun project where I can plug it into my MacBook or PCs USB c and use that for HDMI AND power. Any suggestions on how to make it happen?
Well you could use one of the step up things from 5 to 12 volts (www.amazon.de/Bolongking-Konverter-Spannungswandler-Stromkabel-Booster/dp/B07WCTX1HL) and connect that to USB C on the 5V end. I am not sure if the Mac (or PC) supplies enough Watts on the USC C port.
I have a 150watt anker USB PD that I use to charge my iPad, iPhone and MacBook at the same time. Is there a controller that I can wire both LCD in and one HDMI output to the Mac for 2 screens?
i got one of these boards a few years back, i got it for a 7in tablet screen, looked up the model of the screen as you did, i received the board alone, with no button board.. and i cant seem to get it to display anything on the multiple screens i have that fit it, im guessing i need the button board to turn it on?! .. Wolfgang, any chance you could trace it out and make up a schematic i could use to make a button board please.. i cant seem to find any info on them...
The button board itself has some logic. So without it you are out of luck. It's not just measuring. ... and I live in Germany, so I think it would be cheaper to order a new (complete) board instead of sending yours around the globe ;-)

Yes it is. It's the same process and the exact same screen. I made a second video because people were searching for iPad2 instead of iPad 1 not getting, that it is the same process/screen.
