Turning my E-Bike into a Flatbed Truck - Topeak QuickTrack Compatible

I needed to make my E-bike beach friendly. I want to be able to load up two normal size beach chairs, maybe a cooler as well. What I didn't want is for it to have a flatbed rack on it all of the time. So I thought of a way to use Topeak's Quicktrack system and make my own platform to use with my Topeak rack and the other rack accessories I have for it. You could put this on any bike rack, really. I just customized it for the Topeak rack. Here are the links to the components if you want to build one yourself.
18"x25"x.75"cutting board: amzn.to/3xz0W34
Topeak Fixer 6 for MTX Rear Basket: amzn.to/2TUGJWE
10-24 x 1-1/4 stainless steep Phillips machine screw: amzn.to/3wxXtAc
Here is a link to my Amazon Store. I own and recommend each product that I have placed in the store. All of the links are organized and easy to find: www.amazon.com...

Topeak replacement pannier hooks, pop riveted on each chair and hung on the side rails of the carrier, would leave the mTx slide for your mTx bag. This would then safely protect an insulated 6 pack of tall cans and a small bag of spicy pork rinds so perfectly, that both mathematicians and artists alike agree in its profundity. I feel(holistically), well... it's a more balanced approach. I know it's quite specific but, it's really nice to offload every thing one knows on a topic. P.s. more seriously, thanks for the video and the method. I've used your idea and mounted the top half of an "in/out" basket to my rack and rimmed it with piping insulation (you know, it's kinda like a pool noodle). Now the dog rides up behind me and I don't tow a trailer any more. It's so much faster. Cheers. (he said, feet in the sand, amber liquid in hand, thinking of things that matter).

Very ingenious, you must be a descendant of Ben Franklin, a great inventor in his time. Great job, Pedro here.

Kudos for clever. I would love to see something with a vertical post to hitch my Burley Travoy trailer to my Topeak rack.

Cool, I have 3D printed a Quicktrac adaptor and there are a wide assortment of such parts including dovetails to whip up crate mounts and whatever. I suggest you print in polycarbonate if you can for better long term strength. Can't show it off here yet though. Tom get a 3d printer you would certainly get your money's worth. I suggest a Ender 3 v2 my choice and it works out of the box. Last thought get a set of folding legs or print some so you can use the flat top as a table too! Search amazon using this : MEETWARM 16" Foldable Hairpin Legs, Black Metal Folding Table Legs

I've always been intrigued by the 3D printers, Jason. To be honest, I've never seen one in person but it seems like it would be limited by only your imagination. I'm going to Google the one you are suggesting. Thanks.

@@evolutionaryTom Yes once you look at the ender then head off to yeggi & thingverse dot com to find stuff to print. Also I like CURA as a free slicer program and only modded yellow springs, boden tube and a full metal extruder it worked fine out of box but I couldn't just stop there. The vast pre made STL files ready to put in cura and print is amazing. I also setup a Octoprint on a raspberry pie I had doing nothing to control the printer remotely. All that is optional as you could be printing bike stuff the same hour you assemble the printer. I'm pretty sure that path will get you some fun RU-vid fodder.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video very thorough instructions and easy to follow. I will be using this for another application but I’m pretty sure it will work.

Will you be doing more Marco rides? I need more, I am fulfilling my bucket list through your camera, thank you. Pedro

I'll work on that, Pedro. Trying to think of some interesting rides. I was thinking of making one showing just the original Deltona homes that were built and sold by the Deltona Corp. when they developed the island. Really cool homes that are easy to spot because of the similar designs and the one car garages.

@@evolutionaryTom I was gonna suggest for you to ride the road that leads in and out of the island, but I just saw how narrow it is, not wide enough to feel safe riding a bike there. They should have the state widen that road a bit.

2/8’s huh? We call that 1/4 here in NC. That’s a sweet project. Good try on the lawn chair thing. We all know you are going to deliver pizzas in Marco Island.

Many Rad riders must have ordered cutting boards. They only have yellow, purple & green in the 24” left in stock. 👏🏼

Tom, wouldn't it be easier to just make a hitch for a Radio Flyer Wagon. As much stuff as you are trying to take with you on your rides, you are going to need it.

Don't think that hasn't crossed my mind, Justin. I was at the bike shop a week ago looking at their trailers they make for bikes!

You're gonna have to change the way you mount and dismount your bike.
