This is a great solution for adding a quick release bag to stock factory racks. Thanks for sharing.

Haha, just first watching this as I'm waiting for Amazon to deliver the rack, had I seen this a few days ago I could've saved a few hours of searching and deciding what to buy! Hopefully the new Topeak bag and mount do the trick! Thanks for the tips on mounting it!

Thanks, brother! Huge relief knowing that this adapter exists and that I can fit it to my wife’s rack that came with her e-bike. I hated the thought of her not being able to use her awesome Topeak bag.

Thanks for posting this, Scott. I just tried mounting the Topeak adapter on my new Aventure 2, however the geometry of the rear rack seems different from what you have and there wasn't any room to install the front adapter bracket. Maybe they've changed the rear rack now that it comes with the bike?. I did eventually get it mounted using a slightly longer machine screw (30 mm) together with a lock nut and fender washer. The screw fits into the slot that's used to adjust the angle of the rear rack. I think It is actually more secure using this method as it doesn't depend on the adapter bracket. Again, thanks for posting these videos. Your reviews of the Aventure 2 sold me on the bike which I like a lot especially the torque sensor which is a very natural way to provide the pedal assist.

Interesting to hear about the rear rack. I am glad you figured it out and thanks for the support!

Same here. 25mm screw just a hair too short. Going to try and find large washer and get longer bolt and try again.

Thank you for sharing this! I needed a slightly longer machine screw (30mm) for the Aventon Pace 500.3 rack, but there was room for the front bracket. I used some extra zip ties to secure that front bracket to the rack as well the rear one, for added insurance. It’s very secure and works really well. The Pace doesn’t come with a rack, so in theory I could have just added a Topeak rack that is QuickTrack compatible, but Aventon’s rack is specific to keeping the integrated taillights on this model unobstructed. So I’m glad to have found your solution.

Thanks Scott for the video. I followed the same process awhile ago and simply add a wrap around of the bag and carrier using either a bingo or a Velcro 1/2 strap. Happy Riding! 🚴‍♂️

Just a follow up comment on my broken Topeak adapter plate. I got the replacement in from Amazon and got it remounted as in this video, then went the further step of zip-tying the front adapter riser and also the rear sidearms against the cross members behind them. One ride of about 15 miles with no issues at all so far.

Awesome! I am thinking about zip-tying the cross members up front as well.

I adapted one to fit my engwe engine x using a hacksaw and some longer bolts, some washers and a couple of nuts. I even used the rubber pads that grip the underside of the rack and put them in the holes where the screws went. I bought the topeak explorer bag and the adapter thinking OK this will be an easy fit. 😅

Always use blue threadlocker. I had to learn the hard way and eagerly await a replacement part.

Great point! I have it. I just forgot to use it in this scenario. Guess I better knock that out.

This is great, Scott, exactly how I got mine installed. Unfortunately, I only got about a mile and hit a bump, and the Topeak adapter itself broke at the front screw hole. The plastic literally broke in a circle around the hole, allowing the whole adapter plate to lift up and down. Once that happened, the rear mount slid off and the whole bag (with spare battery) fell to the ground. I'm still in the return period with Amazon, so I'll get a new adapter, but I really wish there was a better solution. The bags are great (I have the one here plus I also bought the smaller one for when I don't want to carry the battery.) Do you know if the rear rack by Topeak themselves fits the Aventure.2? The stock rack is great, really sturdy, and I'd hate to replace it, but if the Topeak rear rack both fits and has a metal track instead of a plastic one, I'll go that route.

Oh wow! I hope this doesn't happen on a regular bases. Maybe I need to zip tie that top part (where the cured part comes up) as well to ensure that if it does break it won't fall apart like yours did. Thanks for letting us know!

@@scotthardestyI've got the replacement on the way, will try again, and the zip-ties are good idea.

@@scotthardesty little update, Aventon sent me a brand new bike and had to send old one back with 1,300 + miles on it, Thanks to my local bike store :). I found 3d print file I'm going to print out that haswider arms on it so it should fit better.

What I'm seeing is the need for the 25mm screw in the back and probably a 30mm in front. The screw combination described aren't grabbing well and I don't wish to strip them.
