this is really late but thanks for the recommendation! I finally got around to seeing it and it was FANTASTIC

my thoughts (SPOILERS BELOW) ok so first of all, justin long is fucking magnificent, he is truly an incredible actor. so when i decided to watch this movie 2 days ago, it was solely based on him in the lead. ok, so the first part has the humor, which the humor wasn't really my taste, like making fun of people who have injuries and just raunchy type, but i had a couple laughs. so then he goes to canada, then he's in the dudes house. this was my favorite part, when he's talking to the doctor and then when he is drugged and wakes up. ohhhh my goooshh, i have never emphatizied with a character before in any movie ever (which is weird) but when he woke up all drugged and he's talking to the doctor, and he comes to and sees his leg and he just fully realizes what has happened. seriously some of the most incredible acting i've seen ever. justin makes that situation so real. he is so accurate in how someone would feel in that case, and when he starts tripping about getting a phone and the guy says theres no phones, i genuinely felt terrified. like genuinely truly scared that some sick ass dude would randomly just amputate someones leg and just allow them to wake up in that situation. and that scene just really saved the movie for me, because it did that to me and that is truly why i love scary movies. HOWEVER, as soon as you see justin become a walrus, it just took all the seriousness and fear i had and threw it out the window. my mind refused to believe that "oh justin is now a walrus" (which its a movie yes but its supposed to be believable, just like all movies try to be) because the costume was so absolutely ridiculous and bad. i mean, this movie has some fabulous fabulous actors, its beautifully made, great sets and scenes and cinematography, why couldn't they make a believable walrus costume!?! i just don't understand, it really took me out of the movie and just made it seem so ridiculous. it looked like justin long in a walrus suit, not someone who was sewn together in a skin suit to be a walrus. other than that though, i thought it wasn't bad. nothing i would watch again though! sorry for the long ass comment, i just watched this movie and have had these intense feelings about it and nobody to tell them to whose seen it! xx

Yay for Ryan!. I think I prefer him as a guest rather than Sarah. Nothing against Sarah but Ryan gave us more about the film and his thoughts.

I liked the ending- I thought it was funny. It was so poignantly sad and hilarious at the same time b/c it was so ridiculous. Although my idea of an ending is the actual ending, whereas I find that some ppl's idea of an "ending" is like the entire last 1/4 of a movie, so I'm never exactly sure what ppl mean when they say they liked or disliked an ending.

Days before I found out what Tusk was about I had the worst nightmare of my life. And Tusk has a lot of similarities to that nightmare. So I was pretty terrified. Obviously there were comedy aspects of the film (Johnny Depp was hilarious) but to me it was mostly just extremely disturbing and creepy, partially because of that nightmare I would guess. Tusk was a great film but I literally had to look away at times because it was so damn disturbing and horrifying. But it was awsome :)

Man, this movie was just simply garbage, and I usually like garbage movies, but not this one. The reviews on imdb are hilarious though, it's worth reading them. Most people gave 1 star out of 10, which I kinda agree with.

I believe they did make the Yoga Hosers. And it's no more weird than the Cornetto Trilogy. All three movies are Entirely different plots but exist in the same Universe: Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End.

So Kafka-esque.

I loved tusk! Its crazy visual wise and Michael Parks is so good! Can't wait for the spin off; its called Yoga Hosers!

Kevin Smith is such a great writer and his podcast series are hilarious. I highly recommend anyone listen to the podcast this idea came from with Smith and Scott Mosier. Thanks for doing this review, Sarah! :)

WOW...I agree with you on most of your reviews. But, Johnny Depp was what ruined the film for me. Most of the story was great, but tonally a little wishy washy. The GOOD...the story and the beginning both worked for me, and it might be Kevin Smith's best looking film. The BAD ...Johnny Depp, the creature effects, and the miscasting of his best friend. At no point did I believe that his girlfriend would sleep with Haley Joel Osment. I didn't hate it, but just left the theater feeling a little disappointed. Maybe cuz I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan and was overhyped for this film. Either way good review guys, keep up the good work.

Great review. I enjoyed it too, although it is a very lightweight movie. Also, it is a ripoff of Human Centipede.

In my opinion this movies was so bad and stupid. I didn't liked this movie and to me it was very disturbing. But that's my opinion. Still great review though. Love u. :)

I loved the movie, but will have to disagree. Johnny Depp to me was probably the worst part of the movie. Michael Parks was the power performance in this film. So misleading and manipulative and a total mindfuck wackjob so perfectly done. Depp's over the top French Canadian guy was pretty much just annoying more than anything.

Great review although I don't see what is funny in the film, the attempt of humor are a mess.
